Why Trump Is Wrong To Hate Jeff Flake, Govt's War on Cocktails, Reversing Aging…
or, three great reasons to subscribe to the Reason Podcast!

Welcome HBO viewers who caught Reason's Matt Welch on Real Time with Bill Maher last night! (Here's the "overtime" segment, viewable at YouTube.)
If you're looking for a great podcast, check out the Reason Podcast, a thrice-weekly festival of the mind…the mouth, the stomach, and just about every other organ in the human body.
On Mondays, Matt Welch, Katherine Mangu-Ward (editor in chief of Reason magazine), and I (editor in chief of Reason.com and Reason TV) work through the top political and cultural topics of the week. The most recent edition saw us talking about President Donald Trump's misplaced hate for Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), one of the most decent and libertarian-leaning members of the Senate.
On Wednesdays and Fridays, I talk with visionaries, newsmakers, authors, and other folks who have something interesting and compelling to say. Last week, that meant talking with Reason's articles editor, Peter Suderman, about how Prohibition nearly destroyed the grand American tradition of mixing cocktails. We came within a short pour of forever losing the Old Fashioned, notes Suderman, not to mention the Morning Glory Fizz (one of the original eye-openers). And then I spoke with Jose Luis Cordeiro, a founding faculty member at Singularity University who promises that we are on the cusp not simply of slowing the aging process but actually reversing it. "Forever Young" isn't just a Bob Dylan and The Band Song, folks.

"And I." Rarely do people make that mistake in reverse. Usually it's the other way around.
And you want to be my podcast provider?
Matt Welch forgot to tell us Fist is going to be there, too? Me and my friends will be sure to catch it!
You got I. I mean me.
Jesus Christ! How about a NSFL warning on that link to Maher that Paul Begala and Jesse Jackson are there? It's saying something that you can click on a Maher link and Bill Maher's only the third most repulsive piece of dog vomit you're going to see.
I don't get Reason's love affair with Flake. Not much Libertarian about him unless "anti-Trump" defaults to "Libertarian"
Didn't they try and float "Evan McMullin as a libertarian-Republican" for a while?
Reason is worse than Dondero with that shit.
I figured the love affair would be back on now, precisely for what you observed.
They seemed to be frenemies there for quite a while.
"Swampitarians"?
I heard Stalin wouldn't like Trump either.
Speaking of podcasts, unlike this week's Fifth Column, Reason knows not to record their podcasts in a goddamn pollen field or whatever was going on there.
Fist,
Am I to understand that you watch these offerings with some frequency... possibly in their entirety upon occasion?
5th all the time, Reason's on occasion. (Although, I don't know that watch is the word I would use.) So it is possible sometimes the Reason podcast employs sniffle and cough foley artists as well.
It was almost sad to hear Welsh suffocate in a podcast. As a libertarian I support his right to die.
Matt's got the consumption.
11 posts on a Friday night and we both post same time. We're destined to be gay lovers.
They certainly seemed to consume that whiskey.
