I just thought about it for a bit and no, no there aren't.

There are many great Queen songs, but Bohemian Rhapsody tops them all. I think about what went into writing the song and what came out of it, and it's a true timeless classic for the ages.

                    1. Dillinger   8 years ago

you're not wrong about what went into writing it, but it was forgotten but for Wayne and Garth...

Danerys marries Sam to steal general Tarwell away from the Lannisters.

Cersei shoots down the dragons with her new THAAD giant crossbow, bringing the Age of Magic to a permanent end, causing the white walkers to turn to dust, er, snow.

Unfortunately this also means Jon Snow's resurrection is undone and all that is left is his wavy hair.

The Unsullied desert Danerys and open up Casterly Rock as an all-inclusive night club.

The Dothraki marry Westerosi women and slowly become civilized, taking out their remaining aggression on each other while watching Sam's latest invention, soccer.

Cersei rules with an iron fist, until Arya, disguised as the Mountain, kills her with a strategically placed banana peel on the stairs to the Red Keep.

Littlefinger and Sansa are about to get married and take the Iron Throne until it is revealed that they are father and daughter. Sansa kills him with a glare, and takes Tyrion back instead.

What? No! Please no! That movie is perfection. FFS I didn't cry boo when you aborted out remakes of every other beloved 80s movie but Escape from New York... FUCK YOU. They are going to take a truly glorious and libertarian flick and chop its dick off and sprinkle progressive dust all over it.

            2. mad.casual   8 years ago

I had to look that up and just discovered they *remade* Escape from NY? wtf?

*made*? Maybe as in 'In the can' but AFAIK, nothing's been released. From what I recall, everybody was on board. Russell was to have a role, Carpenter was to direct or otherwise have a hand in it and somebody you'd totally like/expect to be involved in the update, like Rodriguez, was writing.

The bigger kerfuffle/hearbreak I recall was Dwayne Johnson as Jack Burton in Big Trouble In Little China. The Rock seems to want to respect original fans, but rumors keep circulating about it moving forward without Carpenter *or* Russell, which is exceedingly disheartening.

I guess you could be talking about Escape From L.A. which was a sequel rather than a remake...

              1. Dillinger   8 years ago

Meet the parking ticket judge whose mercy has made him an internet star - thanks to the heart-wrenching stories of the accused and his unique way of delivering justice

n one video earlier this year, a grieving mother, Andrea Rogers, appeared before Judge Caprio with an accumulation of parking fines. She wept as she explained her struggle to keep her life together after her son was murdered.

'I'm going to take into consideration the horrific story you just told us, relative to your son. I don't think anyone in their lifetime would ever want to experience that,' Judge Caprio tells her before dismissing all the penalties. 'With our best wishes and hope that things turnaround for you. Good luck to you.'

      1. mad.casual   8 years ago

Andrea Rogers, 35,... Just over a year later, Andrea Rogers found herself in Providence's Municipal Court before Judge Caprio. 'By then I had lost my apartment and my Social Security check had been cut off.
'When I went to court, I thought I had a few recent parking tickets but the judge started mentioning tickets from 2004 and 2005. I didn't even know that I had those because I had moved house.

I'm not entirely convinced Judge Dredd wouldn't have saved the money too.

'I'm always mindful of the fact that the power of the sovereign as opposed to the power of the individual is so disproportionate. Shame on me if I represent the sovereign and I give someone something that they don't deserve. That's a strict interpretation of the law.

'I take it to another extent. If I think there are certain circumstances in an individual's life or it's a close call, I give them the benefit of the doubt. I don't subscribe to the theory that because you were charged you must be guilty.'

Damn. A role model for all judges right here.

I have never had a problem with that approach to jail conditions. The problem is that there are so many gods damned victimless crimes that can get you into jail.

I have very little sympathy for those that murder, rape, rob, etc. But, obviously a person caught with a bag of weed or a hooker shouldn't be in there in the first place.
