The bid to pass a "skinny repeal" of the Affordable Care Act failed late last night...

I feel thin shamed by this term.

    1. Rufus The Monocled   8 years ago

      Hello.

Some have said they voted no because they know O'care will fail. When it does they can always say they had nothing to do with it.

I think that gives the GOP too much credit.

      So imma gonna go with....CUCKS.

      1. Rhywun   8 years ago

Obamacare won't fail until they run out of other people's money and even then they can just print more. This idea that it will crash on its own without taking the rest of the country down with it is a Stupid Party fantasy.

        1. Citizen X - #6   8 years ago

And that's looking increasingly like the only way Obamacare is ever gonna go away.

        2. paranoid android   8 years ago

Per Twitter this morning, this is the course of action explicitly preferred by the President of the United States. Get your bottled water and non-perishables while you can, I suppose.

The list of people who are evil and should rot in hell soon: please expand what I have missed.

John Mcain, Hillary hose beast Clinton, George bush W, bill Clinton, obam, schumer, Pelosi, b snaders, maduro, castro, Kim, putin,

Rachel maddow, nancy grace, probably trump?

      1. Agammamon   8 years ago

Well, to start with there's a whole bunch more Senators and Representatives missing from that list.

Then there's the staff of the

        DHS
        DoEd
        DoE
        DoI
        Capital Architect
and on and on and on.

Isn't this guy suppose to be fighting the leaker's inside the White House and here he is leaking out to reporters about inside White House stuff

      1. Jerryskids   8 years ago

Yep - about all you need to know about politics is that this seems like a good idea to a politician.

        1. Jerryskids   8 years ago

And about all you need to know about the media is that they're reporting all this leaked stuff without digging into the question of why it's being leaked. As Mooch pointed out on CNN, all his speculation about who's leaking doesn't amount to shit when there are journalists who know for a fact who's leaking. So why isn't CNN interested in telling Mooch who's leaking? Because they think the leakers are doing God's work in disrupting Trump's agenda, they're taking sides in the debate over what's good for the country. But they're not biased, no sir.

          1. Stormy Dragon   8 years ago

So why isn't CNN interested in telling Mooch who's leaking?

Yes, why WOULD reporters not turn in the people feeding them information? It's not like becoming known as someone who rats out sources would make it impossible to do their job in the future. Clearly their must be some vast conspiracy at work.

            1. Jerryskids   8 years ago

It's not like becoming known as someone who rats out sources would make it impossible to do their job in the future.

I think you're missing my point. What exactly is CNN's job?

              1. Citizen X - #6   8 years ago

To make money for CNN's shareholders.

              2. Zeb   8 years ago

                What are CNN reporters' jobs?

              3. paranoid android   8 years ago

What is your point? Is there any conceivable reason the reporters would reveal their sources, in this or any other administration? If you think they should because (in your estimation), the leakers are Bad People who are Hurting the Country, isn't that also "taking sides in the debate over what's good for the country"?

            2. Unlabelable MJGreen   8 years ago

If Obama asked them to reveal their sources, I'm sure Communist News Network would have happily obeyed!

          2. Brandybuck   8 years ago

What if it turns out that the leaker is Trump himself?

            1. Stormy Dragon   8 years ago

I could actually see this being true. Not that he's intentionally leaking, he just can't resist constantly calling up reporters and bragging about what he's up to.

      2. paranoid android   8 years ago

I'm pretty sure any PR people who are actually good at their jobs would have the good sense to stay away from the dumpster fire that is this WH.

              Jonah: Mangoes?
              Furlong: No. Tell him, Will.
              Will: [sighs] Green beans.
Furlong: Thalt's why I spent two months jamming them into that lunch bill... like what, Will?

Two women are in hospital with broken bones after a THREESOME went wrong with one falling off a balcony as she reached climax and the other slipping as she ran to help in Germany

The first woman suffered broken bones in her feet and legs after she toppled ten feet from a balcony in Bad Breisig as she reached her climax.

Her naked friend screamed and ran down the stairs to help her, slipped, and broke bones in her arm and neck.

Medics arrived at the apartment where the embarrassed man explained what had occurred.

Teacher who had sex with pupil on plane was 'set up for being good looking' says her brother

A female physics teacher struck off for having sex with a pupil on a flight from Geneva was targeted by pupils because she is "good looking", her brother has claimed.

She'd already had enough of students giving her hassle because she was good looking. Good looking teachers get picked out by students and they get hard done by."

He said the allegations were only made when Wilson reported the pupil for sending her explicit photographs.

I'm confused as to what the heck the author of the article thinks the Bible actually says. Here's a series of verses that shows that the Israelites didn't listen to God:

      Judges 1:19
Now the LORD was with Judah, and they took possession of the hill country; but they could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley because they had iron chariots.

      Judges 1:21
But the sons of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who lived in Jerusalem; so the Jebusites have lived with the sons of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.

      Judges 2:3
"Therefore I also said, 'I will not drive them out before you; but they will become as thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you.'"

      And there are more.

The terrifying effect porn is having on men's sex lives

Researchers are arguing that the way sex is represented might influence how we perceive and understand it ourselves. They also found evidence that pornography could perpetuate completely unrealistic standards and expectations when it comes to experiencing or achiving an orgasm.

The main takeaways are 1) that mainstream porn does reflect/perpetuate unrealistic expectations in relation to women's orgasm and men's sexual performance, and 2) that the assumption that women are always shown reaching orgasm in porn is only a myth.

The vast majority of the women in the sampled videos were NOT shown reaching orgasm at all (less than 1 out of 5 women were shown reaching orgasm, compared to almost 4 out of 5 men).

    I mean...

    1. BestUsedCarSales   8 years ago

    3. Tom Bombadil   8 years ago

"that the assumption that women are always shown reaching orgasm in porn is only a myth."

What sane porn watcher ever assumed that women are "always" reaching orgasm? Even if they sometimes "appear" to orgasm, most people assume they're faking it 99% of the time.

Before men were being conditioned to assume a woman reaching orgasm was easy.

Now they're being conditioned to not care.

Its still Patriarchy so . . . can I get my grant renewed?

      1. Archibald Baal   8 years ago

Cue the next generation of porn, approved by the latest and greatest research, which ends with:

        "Baby, did you make it?"

"Um... no honey. I appreciate you trying, but, you know, sometimes I just don't. It's not you."

"Yeah, sure, fine. My ego isn't crushed, for I accept the unspoken criticism that I don't vacuum or do the dishes enough, and that it's not my lack of skill or patience but your exhaustion from housework which reduces my ability to help you climax. I'll try to do better."

"That's so hot, sweetie. Let's try again!"

        1. Citizen X - #6   8 years ago

Not gonna lie, i'd watch that.

    5. Chipper Morning, Now #1   8 years ago

One of my friends has a theory that there are more gay men now than before because of porn. After all, when you watch porn, you are generally looking at another man's erect penis and associating it with arousal. This is why I only watch lesbian porn.

The bid to pass a "skinny repeal" of the Affordable Care Act failed late last night, with Republican Sens. Susan Collins, John McCain, and Lisa Murkowski joining Democrats in voting no.
Something tells me that these 3 Senators are NOT holding out for a full repeal of ObamaCare either. Its almost as if they are not conservatives but call themselves Republicans. hhmmm.....

Norm Macdonald Sounds Off on SNL: 'I Think They're Playing Into Trump's Hands'

My theory is this: People hated Hillary Clinton so much that they voted for someone they hated more than Hillary Clinton in order to rub it in.

. And I never like a political candidate. I find it very hard to vote for someone who's going to have power over me. It's such an odd thing to do, to go, yeah, this guy should control my life instead of this guy or this lady.

Caffeine IS harmless: Myth-busting review reveals powerful stimulant is safe to take and even boosts mental performance

A review of 44 trials dispelled the widespread myth that caffeine, found in coffee, tea and fizzy drinks, is bad for the body.

It found that sticking to the recommended daily amount of 400mg - four cups of coffee - has no lasting damage on the body.

Conducted by a leading British dietitian, the paper also shows the substance boosts both mental and physical performance.

    I'm right chuffed 'bout this.

'Tea is the best way to get your hit of caffeine as it has half the amount of coffee and is packed with a variety of health-boosting polyphenols and antioxidants.'

More tosh in the penny dreadful.

    1. Citizen X - #6   8 years ago

powerful stimulant is safe to take and even boosts mental performance

I could have told them that, but probably not before i'd had my first couple cups of coffee.

    2. BestUsedCarSales   8 years ago

I can't read the details because there's no link, but that study has been done many times.

Also, it's weird that they would say caffeine is harmless, but the best way is tea because it's half the caffeine.

      1. Rhywun   8 years ago

the widespread myth that caffeine, found in coffee, tea and fizzy drinks, is bad for the body

I've never known anyone who thinks that way but I suppose it might be "widespread" among nannies and other ascetics. Unlike everything else enjoyable, the non-caffeine weirdos don't seem to want to tell everyone about it, perhaps out of shame for being so ridiculous.

        1. Rhywun   8 years ago

(not a reply to you, BUCS)

        2. Charles Easterly   8 years ago

I've never known anyone who thinks that way...

This was a bit of a meme going around in some progressive circles following some research showing/claiming evidence that caffeine was found to be a dangerous drug. The reporters discussing the research were referring to drinkers of coffee as "users" of caffeine. During one program I was listening to they did this liberally (pun intended) and used a tone of voice I associate with people discussing users of hard drugs.

... I suppose it might be "widespread" among nannies and other ascetics. I think that you guessed correctly.

        3. Unlabelable MJGreen   8 years ago

I also don't recall hearing that caffeine was bad for you. I recall the stupid guilt by association of saying that caffeine is addictive and therefore bad, and of course there's the general adage that too much of anything is bad for you (so, 8 cups of coffee a day may not be wise).

          1. BestUsedCarSales   8 years ago

I always seem to feel that culturally there is a bias against better living through pharmaceuticals. The naturalistic fallacy is very strong.

      2. Tom Bombadil   8 years ago

"Also, it's weird that they would say caffeine is harmless, but the best way is tea because it's half the caffeine"

And the recommended dose of caffeine is four cups of coffee, which means they are suggesting it's best to drink 8 cups of tea daily.

"Who leaked that to you?" he asked. I said I couldn't give him that information. He responded by threatening to fire the entire White House communications staff. "What I'm going to do is, I will eliminate everyone in the comms team and we'll start over," he said. I laughed, not sure if he really believed that such a threat would convince a journalist to reveal a source. He continued to press me and complain about the staff he's inherited in his new job. "I ask these guys not to leak anything and they can't help themselves," he said. "You're an American citizen, this is a major catastrophe for the American country. So I'm asking you as an American patriot to give me a sense of who leaked it."

I probably could not be a reporter, because I'm pretty sure I would have laughed at him over the phone at this point.

    2. creech   8 years ago

Why so hard to find a leaker? Lib Party's LNC once exposed a leaker by simply changing onedifferent word in a memo sent to each individual LNC member. When the document leaked, it was easy to determine which member's memo had been leaked.

      1. paranoid android   8 years ago

No, I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Tyrion Lannister there.

        1. Agammamon   8 years ago

Should be easy to stop leaks.

Just grab one of the staff at random - including even the top staff. Then stab them. Then make everyone else take a turn stabbing them. Do it again and again with each leak.

          They'll stop.

Did God really smite all of the ancient Canaanites? Science says maybe not.

Sorry to disappoint the headline writers, but the Bible said definitely not, so the hook for this story is false. According to the Bible, the Canaanites were organized into city states, and while the Jews annihilated most of the city states in their conquest of Canaan, they spared some and didn't even attempt to conquer others. In fact, the Lebanese cities, which are the subject of this article, are mentioned several times as allies of the Jews, not enemies, so the fact that they survived until the present day should surprise no one. Heck, even if they had done this study on Jericho, the only Canaanite city which the Bible claims God had a direct hand in its destruction, that still would not justify the headline, as some residents of Jericho were spared and intermingled with the Jews, becoming the ancestors of such famous people as King David and Jesus.

Still interesting to see that the study showed 93% relation between ancient and modern Lebanese - I would have guessed far less given the number of conquerors (Greek, Roman, Arab, Crusader, Mongol) who have swept through there in the interim.

    1. Agammamon   8 years ago

while the Jews annihilated most of the city states

When you kill most of an ethnicity there will be a trace of that discontinuity in the survivor's genes.

    2. Eek Barba Durkle   8 years ago

And not only that, but the Old Testament is largely a collection of myths and morality stories, with almost no historical basis.
