Oregon Happy Hours Get a Little More Free, Trump's Infrastructure Plan is Delayed Yet Again, and Solar Companies Beg for More Tariffs: P.M. Links

-
The Oregon Liquor Control Commission has abolished a rule that prevented Oregon bars from advertising their happy hour prices. The price mechanism can now freely guide consumers looking to get hammered on a budget.
- In a typical showing from the constantly behind-schedule administration, Sen. John Thune, chairman of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, announced that work on Trump's yet to be submitted infrastructure proposal "might spill into next year." Trump had promised to release a more detailed infrastructure proposal in May, but is now projecting a Fall-time unveiling. Don't hold your breath.
- Solar companies file yet another anti-dumping case with the US International Trade Commission. Check out Reason's coverage of how even with tariffs, solar is still a bad bet.
- Speaking of tariffs, Trump says that trade deficits with South Korea can't be allowed to continue.
- Education Sec. Betsy DeVos begins rewriting many of Obama's higher education rules and regulations.

TRYING TO WEED OUT THE POOR.
We should alcohol test all the poor, wasting their welfare on 40 oz of Mackies and Steel Reservation.
Hello.
"Education Sec. Betsy DeVos begins rewriting many of Obama's higher education rules and regulations."
Fucken-A.
Make is progressive presidency a mistake of history and a distant memory.
CA D legislators want to put some 'reasonable' limits on privatizing government activites:
1) Avoid replacing any existing or potential public employees
2) Ensure their compensation will be roughly equivalent to government pay and benefits
3) Show that any savings aren't "outweighed by the public's interest" in employing government workers
4) Prove that they will produce "actual overall cost savings ? for the duration of the entire cocntract"
Not kidding, this is the gist of Assembly Bill 1250, Reginald Jones-Sawyer, D, Los Angeles (copied from today's SF Chron editorial page).
"Show us that you'll spend more and make it cost less and we'll let you do whatever you want (as long as we don't have to cut any public employees)."
Okay, private sector. If you can save money without doing anything that might actually make what government workers do cost less, we might allow it (but probably won't.)
Fuck you, cut spending!
...work on Trump's yet to be submitted infrastructure proposal "might spill into next year."
#NotShovelReady
Well...can we at least use these gold shovels to bludgeon Trump with in order to show him how much we want a massive infrastructure crony-enrichment bill?
Look. If the federal government isn't going to fix the potholes on my street, who's going to, smart guy?
I don't know, I figure the City can pay for it's own streets. If not, than your neighborhood association can do something useful for once. ^_-
This is literally something that I can support as a local bond issue if the streets are really screwed up, but the FedGov? Naah. That's just crazy.
A local group? Banding together and paying $200 apiece to repave the streets in our own neighborhoods?
That doesn't compute. Please report to an education center for a discussion session.
Happy 4th to all of you.
It's not even July yet.
Eh I figured Reason would just repost this PM links on July 1st.
Sorry it's too early to LOVE OUR COUNTRY you fucking commie.

Greater Manchester Police to double number of Taser officers
Take that, ISIS.
I guess their rapid response teams are a misnomer after all.
You mean "Hot Fuzz" wasn't a documentary?
Interesting that once upon a time, almost no cops in England were armed. Now some of them are, and they have to declare "Armed Police!" and not just "Police!" before barking commands. And then there are some cops with tasers and some without. Why don't they just arm all cops with guns and tasers like the US does and get it over with. Afraid to admit defeat?
It's not like armed police make a damned bit of difference in Chicago.
Oh yeah? How many dogs could they shoot if they weren't armed, huh?
Even with special training to break the dogs necks, they are still just too limited without guns.

I'm guessing she's writing the Right to an Education right out of the Constitution.

I think cargo shorts get way too much hate by dorks on the internet who think they are trendy even though they are dorks, but the ultimate dork move is to exercise in them. Dork.

Female teachers having sex with students: Double standards, lack of awareness
To summarize:
Meaning, put ladies in prison for longer terms.
I wonder if one of the female teachers was caught fucking a male student with a strap-on would get in more trouble.
Does a female teacher with a female student get in less trouble than a male teacher with female student? Is penetration the basis of this fear?

"Trump had promised to release a more detailed infrastructure proposal in May, but is now projecting a Fall-time unveiling."
This is just so typical of normal government infrastructure projects that I can't even get mad. Not only do I not expect a Fall release, I expect the study to come in over budget as well.

He continues on like that for a while, replying that he feels like health care ought to be provided without monetary considerations.
Food is more of a necessity than health care. Guys like this need to be asked why, without government intervention, our grocery stores are efficient purveyors of literally acres of affordable food.
