Duckling ramps installed at Capitol Reflecting Pool

Ducklings now have an easier time climbing in and out of the U.S. Capitol Reflecting Pool thanks to special ramps created for water fowl of all types and ages.

The ramps, according to the Architect of the Capitol's blog, were designed with the help of a D.C. wildlife rehabilitation group.

City Wildlife helped the Capitol's grounds crew understand the needs of the ducklings and provided advice about the best way to build the ramps to help the birds navigate up and over the reflecting pool's roughly 2-foot-high ledge.

I assumed he would face significant Republican challengers in the primaries come 2020--but I'm starting to doubt that. The more the press and left go after him, the more the Republican base will see him as their champion against the elitist left.

As bad as Trump's approval ratings are (around 40%), they're still above the press' (32%) and Congress' (20%). If they actually impeach Trump over this, he'll become even more formidable.

Sessions is there because the primary responsibility of the Attorney General, since Watergate, is to protect the president from scandal--so the primary qualification (from the president's perspective) is loyalty.

Of all the Republicans who risked their political futures by throwing in their lot with Trump when he was in the primaries, (Sessions, Christie, Gingricn, Palin, Bolton, Giuliani), Sessions was the only one who had a political future to risk.

Hence, Sessions was the one Trump could trust the most to watch his back. That's why Sessions is AG and not somebody else. And when the smoke clears on this, I suspect we may find that Sessions is the one who alerted Trump to Comey being a threat.

Trump should have fired Comey along with Preet Bahara way back when.
