Trump finds common ground with actress Rosie O'Donnell.
Let the healing begin?
Hello.
;p
Whoa.
Horsey.
Holy shit - I took a look at Rosie's twitter. Spontaneuos human combustion is real, and it usually starts like this. I would move as far away from her house as possible, and might as well call the fire department too - it might not be too late.
Trump announced Thursday the launch of a commission to investigate voter fraud as well as an examination of federal cybersecurity practices.
Finally closing the popular vote gap from the '16 election.
Thousands of Sims Players Want Their Characters To Have A Skin Condition
Also known as the Reverse Home Simpson.
Vitiligo is interesting. It's not a particularly common disorder, but certainly shows up a lot in certain groups of fans. A lot of SJW leaning art seems to feature it. Is it because the mixed skin color implies something about their opinions on racial issues?
I certainly see it way more in fiction than I see it in real life these days.
I think because it is more obvious in black people. Also dermatology tends to be expensive.
I vaguely remember being at a restaurant as a kid and seeing a girl at the next table with it, and not thinking much of it at the time, other than thinking she was cute.
I'm not surprised people are modding this, since a lot of game mods are devoted to character customization.
The latest round of federal immigrant raids yielded more than twice as many American-citizen arrests as arrests of undocumented immigrants
The quota wasn't that specific.
Reason complains that too few illegal aliens were caught by ICE.
The raids weren't "immigrant raids" they were raids against gang members and their associates who are usually American citizens when the arrests are made in the United States. Because the gangs that they were targeted were transnational (e.g. MS-13), Homeland Security Investigations (which is part of ICE but generally focuses on criminal matters) was the federal agency that coordinated the operation.
Middle school teacher and married mother-of-three, 47, 'kills herself in front of cops' one day after she was accused of having sex with a student
The PM links are not for bumming people out. That's just a sad story.
Fine, I will go back to all Lena, all the time.
Ok.
Not nice!
I feel bad for the cops. They must feel so irritated that they didn't get to kill her first.
Massachusetts may get more aggressive about civil asset forfeiture in order to shore up a sex-trafficking victims' fund.
So sex trafficking is the new scare? Can we end the drug war and replace with the sex trafficking war? We can't fight war on two fronts, people. There are only so many constitutional protections left to use as cannon fodder.

ALSO KNOWN AS A COSMO.
The libertarian candidate in New Hampshire ran on 'single payer healthcare'. Libertarian moment?
*libertarian senate candidate*, I should specify
OMG, the last thing we want is progressives thinking that libertarianism is respectable enough to switch parties.
I prefer kissing up to below-average IQ racist white people. It's worked for libertarianism in the past.
Hazel, it was a joke 🙂 I think we would all rather have one more libertarian rep. as opposed to one more in any other party, and this might earn some credibility with the progressives. As for your second statement, I guess it depends on whether you view people as dynamic characters or static ones.
HazelMeade: She may be tiresome and shrill, but DAMN she woke.
Was that necessary? Besides, depending on who you ask, Rand Paul is shrill too. It takes all types.
It was as necessary as her year-long totally non-racist Crusade against white men.
Wait, if you criticize racism, you are engaging in a crusade against white men? So you are saying all white men are racist? That's pretty racist, dude. But then again, you are a white man.
Really? You want to start up a conversation about IQ with white nationalists?

How unsubtle would someone like her have to be to actually get charged much less convicted?
One order of magnitude greater than HRC.
Too bad she didn't have a popular family foundation, otherwise it would have been BAU.
No. But she did have a charity that she stole $800K from.
Guilty on 18 of 22 counts. Or as CNBC will report, "Famed progressive congresswoman acquitted of 4 counts of tax evasion and mail fraud".
I should read the links first. Holy shit - one fucking $1,800 scholarship, out of $800,000 raised? This is all just a racist witch hunt? I wonder if they will let her keep that wig when she goes to the hoosegow.

That CNBC headline really got me snickering.
Thanks for putting that in proper perspective!
The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled that Columbus' Whetstone High School did not violate a student's rights when they searched his bookbag on school property.
In other words, he did not possess 4th Amendment rights in the court's eyes.
Third party doctrine. When he brought his bag to the school he lost all expectation of privacy. Or something.
Balancing test. Balance your desire to not have your rights violated against their desire to violate your rights and you wind up with the result of your rights not being violated when they don't feel like violating them and with your rights violated when they do feel like violating them. See? It's a give a little/ get a little situation.
I think that's called "heads I win, tails you lose" when anybody else does it.
I guess my authoritarian side is showing today, because I really don't see anything wrong with the school looking in an unattended backpack on a bus. If I were the guy who found it, I'd probably check the books inside to see if I can find out who it belongs to so I could make sure they get it back. Finding a gun inside would of course result in it being turned in to the authorities.
Nothing seems unreasonable in this.
I certainly don't like the state's argument that no warrants are required to search kids at schools, which is what it appears they decided. That's pretty ugly, and quite ridiculous.
in loco parentis
These are children. The State also has an obligation to keep the children it cages safe.

ha. I'm going to steal that on Twitter

The latest round of federal immigrant raids yielded more than twice as many American-citizen arrests as arrests of undocumented immigrants
A reminder to anti-immigration libertarians that any kind of police enforcement of any law inevitably impacts the innocent as well as the guilty. The more laws you have, the more cops you have, the more cops you have arresting people for stupid reasons.
They weren't innocent you goddamned lunatic.
Posting without reading the article is always a good idea.
A reminder to Open Border Uber Alles libertarians that illegal immigration entails a multitude of criminal activities, increasing crime, and increasing enforcement actions by the police.
The more illegals you have, the more crime you have, the more cops you have, the more cops you have arresting people for stupid reasons.
Unlike the War on Drugs, War on Porn, War on Sex Trafficking, War on Terror, War on Poverty, and every other great War on Everything we ever got swindled into, this will totally only hurt people who deserve it. Cops kicking doors in on rubber-stamped general warrants is exactly what liberty is all about, and anybody who has reservations about this is just a fake-libertarian open borders fanatic. We need to be more like the Venezuela and just believe harder this time.
If you actually read the article and not just ENB's inaccurate summary of it, the raids were directed against gang members and their associates and the crimes weren't about immigration they were about "drug trafficking, weapons smuggling, human smuggling and sex trafficking, murder and racketeering." .
After the Transport Sozialist Arbeiterpartei busted that guy with the "District of Columbia" drivers license, I figure it's only a matter of time before Internment and Coerced Emigration begins arresting Puerto Ricans, tatooing our arms and deporting us en masse para La Isla Hermosa.
Amy Schumer's Comedy Deserves Better Than "Snatched"
I like Jeselnik's take on Schumer.
In developing themes from their own lives, these directors also develop themes of the times; they see themselves and their characters in context and draw out the implications of their stories boldly and unsparingly.
Yeah, if it's one thing the cultural landscape is really missing, its the banal musings of a bunch of neurotic NYC women.
This article reeks of old white guy trying to be woke. Bridesmaids was hilarious with a male director, and Frozen managed to be funny and get the female empowerment message across with a man co-directing it. I think the difference is 100% in the storylines, whether they work on developing an actual story and solid dialogue. I can't say for certain, but the vibe I get is that this movie was built around incorporating Schumer while her popularity is at its peak. The character is the same one she always plays. If they want to make a quality movie, they're going to have to dig a little deeper than "goofy, boy-crazy girl realizes she had *it* inside of this whole time", which I think is kind of the other, stronger point this movie critic makes.
Bridesmaids was hilarious with a male director
To be fair, Paul Feig's a male only in the chromosomal sense, although he and John appear to share the same fetish for fat women.
What is best film made by the ladies? In any category?

I'm not saying all of these movies are the best, but you have to admit, there are some good ones on here. Plus I remember The Hurt Locker winning a bunch of awards a while back.

Rumor has it that President Trump is considering former Republican Congressman and FBI agent Mike Rogers
He is a sleazy cronyist, so he will probably be the choice.
Rogers is indeed a board-certified sociopath, so there's that going for him. But he slips so easily into self-important smarmy-patriot mode that he could be seen as possible scene-stealing competition for other players.
Massachusetts may get more aggressive about civil asset forfeiture in order to shore up a sex-trafficking victims' fund.
Whoa, more than 30 convictions? Forget millions, that fund should have, like, trillions.
President Trump is considering former Republican Congressman and FBI agent Mike Rogers and former New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly for James Comey's replacement at the FBI.
To those of you about to die, I salute you!
Former members of a feminist student group at the University of Mary Washington have filed a federal lawsuit against the university over anonymous harassment they received on the (totally unaffiliated with the school) social media app Yik Yak.
I think they have a strong case with regards to victim status alone. 50/50 I reckon.
I don't know, I've never used Yik Yak, but doesn't it go out of it's way to say it's not affiliated with the schools? And even if that's not the case, Yik Yak isn't owned or operated by the college, and it's not like the college could have shut down the app. I can't imagine they really have that strong of a case.
Apparently Yik Yak was shut down about a week ago. Looks like the snowflakes got the best of it. A pity, since it was good for a giggle every once in a while.
Apparently Yik Yak was shut down about a week ago. Looks like the snowflakes got the best of it.
It appears to have been quite popular at Air Force tech schools for coordinating hookups.
From what I skimmed, it seems they realized the had no way to monetize it and ran it into the ground. But the coverage of this is dominated by so many biased Gawker-esque tech blogs that I wouldn't trust it.
The fate of all social media is that eventually somebody's going to realize it's not making any money and never will, at least not in any sustainable way, and sell it off to somebody who doesn't know any better.
In the long run, we're all MySpace.

Billions voted illegally! How do I know this? I'm very smart! Trust me. Trust me.
4:10 AM - 11 May 2017
Now we might actually see how many voted illegally.
Strange how some people fight so hard to hide that crime.
That's a very inaccurate summary of the news article. The raids weren't "immigrant raids" they were part of an anti-gang operation that was led by Homeland Security Investigations which is part of ICE because they have jurisdiction over transnational gang cases (e.g. MS-13). The raids were directed against gang members and their associates in the United States who (shocking) most of whom are U.S. citizens.
one wonders if ENB read her own link
There is a God.
Because she's a D?
It's because she's a D this is so heartbreaking. I literally can't stop crying because one of our betters was found in the wrong. So..........sad..............burp
No, because she is a fucking piece of Progtard shit that has been sucking at the Public Teat for far too long.
I know her. I worked with her. I had the misfortune to sit next to her as she sauntered in (late, of course) to hearings. And then she had the audacity to ask insipid questions that had already been addressed before Her Highness had arrived.
She is one of the worst things that could ever happen to race relations in the United States.
No, because after HRC committed a felony and wasn't even recommended for prosecution, some of us had begun to think that the political class was above the law.
Maybe because she is a criminal government crony?
Aren't we supposed to be against that around here?
Meanwhile, the "Specialists" (I am not making this up) on Reason-favorite Fox News are debating whether Anderson Cooper is a misogynist monster for rolling his eyes at serial liar and Trump fellatist Kellyanne Conway. Again, I am not making this up.

Does anybody know if there are any groups lobbying against the government's long term goal to eliminate cash? It seems like a waste of time to contact Rand Paul or Justin Amash as an individual about this issue.
"The operation targeted gang members and associates involved in transnational criminal activity, including drug trafficking, weapons smuggling, human smuggling and sex trafficking, murder and racketeering."
I am glad UMW is small enough that it doesn't infect the surrounding area like major universities.

Apparently some "just a comedian" has latched on to Net Neutrality in his never-ending quest to make us all dumber. Debunked here:

Just unsubbed a small-time YouTuber I was starting to like because he posted one of those cringy "I don't talk about politics but this is too important" vids pimping this agitprop.
I'd direct people to Reason's interview with the new FCC guy to get his side of the story, but I suspect the circlejerk has reached unbreakable critical mass at this point, because something something evil corporations etc.
I'd go further than the blog post did: There really aren't two reasonable* sides to this, there's a reasonable side and an unreasonable side, and Mr. Just A. Comedian and his fanboys are on the wrong side of it.
Everybody who understands this issue sees straight through the pro-government narrative being pushed here. If you seriously think the agency responsible for chasing nipples and profanity and keeping the phone system in the dark ages has anything to add to network management, you have bigger problems in your life than packet priority.
