Brickbat: Fascinating

In Winnipeg, Nick Troller has had a personalized license plate on his vehicle that reads "ASIMIL8" for the past two years. Around it he has a frame that says "We Are the Borg" and "Resistance is Futile." But now, Manitoba Public Insurance has demanded he return the license plate. It says two people have complained the word "assimilate" is offensive to indigenous people.

Are we sure this whole brouhaha wasn't planned? I mean the guy's name is Troller.
Now that's some news, that there are still indigenous people left anywhere! Thought we killed them all off. Hey Charlie got any more of those infected blankets?
Thought we killed them all off.
I suspect we'd hear a lot less about them if that were the case.
what e have is the ersatz "indigenous people" like Elizabeth Warren and that woman from the NAACP, who identify...

I don't want to live in a world where my feelings don't immediately become law.
"I don't want to live in a world where my feelings don't immediately become law."
Go home, Trump, you're drunk again.
Anyone who wants to be offended can find always find a reason.
I am offended by your comment!
I am offended. In general. Because it's the thing to do.
Canadians seem to be a kind of vermin.
Oh well, Canada. No first amendment.
At least we can be sure nothing like that would ever happen in the US, right?
History quiz: who gets to decide how far back to go in political correctness?
"we" are criticized for our abuse of "native americans" because we came in here and whipped them and drove them off the part of the country where they happened to be when "we" showed up. But a few generations before "we" showed up, they came here from somewhere (best guess Russia over the land bridge) and whipped the people who were here before them and ran those guys off. And those guys probably came here and ran off whoever was here before them. Why is it only the current winners are the bad guys?
Because in the modern world only whiners write history?
Good job putting "we" in quotes. I hate it when people talk about stuff that happened hundreds of years ago as if it had been done by people living now. No one is the bad guy (whether or not the people in the past were). We're all stuck with the world we were born into. And none of the Indians of the past were bad guys either, except maybe the ones who took land from earlier occupants. The whole idea of inherited guilt for things like that is responsible for a ridiculous amount of the violence in the world.
On a related note, I always think that the Canadian "first nations" designation for the indigenous peoples is a bit silly. They aren't the first nations. They were the last nations before Europeans completely dominated the continent. Plenty came before them, I'm sure.
FUN FACT
Canadian vermin appear to account for most of alt-reason site's traffic:

Still mad that you can't sit at the cool kids' table?
zzzzzzzzzzzz
When the PC police start after me I usually smile, snicker and walk away. If they continue in their stupidity I show them just how Un PC I can be.
So, apparently the argument must be that Indians are incapable of getting Star Trek references. It's a shame that no one but white men have any intelligence or agency according to these activists.
I don't follow Star Trek at all, but I would think the Borg is a pretty well-known reference.
Shouldn't assimilation be a good thing for society? Tribalism fosters inbreeding.
Sure. So...why do libertarians have their own site?
Well, I keep being told there are no female libertarians so breeding is right out.
