Woman Prosecuted for Laughing at Jeff Sessions During Confirmation Hearing
Jeff Sessions is nothing to LOL at, prosecutors say.

Desiree Fairooz had a hearty LOL during Jeff Sessions' confirmation hearing to be attorney general. Now she's facing misdemeanor charges for "disorderly and disruptive conduct," HuffPost reported Tuesday.
Fairooz is on trial this week in D.C. Superior Court after being arrested by U.S. Capitol Police during the Jan. 10 confirmation hearing for Sessions. Fairooz, an activist with the anti-war protest group Code Pink, burst out laughing when Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) said Sessions' record of "treating all Americans equally under the law is clear and well-documented."
HuffPost reports:
Fairooz was seated in the back of the room, and her laugh did not interrupt Shelby's introductory speech. But, according to the government, the laugh amounted to willful "disorderly and disruptive conduct" intended to "impede, disrupt, and disturb the orderly conduct" of congressional proceedings. The government also charged her with a separate misdemeanor for allegedly parading, demonstrating or picketing within a Capitol, evidently for her actions after she was being escorted from the room.
Jason Covert, one of the assistant U.S. attorneys trying the case, asked Officer Coronado on Monday whether the laughter was "loud enough to draw your attention" or if she recalled "seeing other people turning around." Coronado claimed she had seen other people turn around and later said Fairooz had been laughing "very loudly."
HuffPost reported an assistant U.S. attorney even asked the police officer who arrested Fairooz if she thought Shelby's comments were humorous. (The officer said they were not.)
Fairooz said in a statement on Code Pink's website that it was her "responsibility as a citizen to dissent at the confirmation hearing of Senator Jeff Sessions, a man who professes anti-immigrant, anti-LGBT policies, who has voted against several civil rights measures and who jokes about the white supremacist terrorist group the Ku Klux Klan."
Two other protesters who interrupted the hearings dressed in Ku Klux Klan robes are also on trial with Fairooz.
Code Pink has been interrupting hearings on Capitol Hill for more than a decade, and their members have been arrested numerous times. Being prosecuted for allegedly laughing in an inappropriate manner, however, would be a new one. And not a great look for a notoriously thin-skinned administration.

Looks like a clear violation of the 1st amendment to me. Motion to dismiss, right?
Wrong. She disrupted a solemn event and tweaked the nose of a respected man. Everybody knows laughter is no excuse for committing a crime. That is why some forms of humor, especially when they involve inappropriately deadpan mimicry or mockery of distinguished academic department chairmen and the like, are crimes and must be punished by jail. Surely no one here would dare to defend the "First Amendment dissent" of a single, isolated judge in New York's leading criminal "parody" case? See the documentation at:

P.s. I see the link to our nation's leading criminal "satire" case came out wrong so for convenience here it is:

Yes, and thank you for contributing to my anti-Troll campaign.
Mr. Ciaramella may wish to update his article, because the "innocent laugher" has now, of course, been convicted of disruptive conduct and faces a year in jail.

Now she's facing misdemeanor charges for "disorderly and disruptive conduct,"
Good, let's see if this gets anywhere.
Well yes, it is indeed getting somewhere, for she has now been convicted of criminal laughter and can be sentenced to a year in jail. See:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!
What a rancid little piece of shit that guy is.
Who?
"Disorderly conduct" is that bullshit charge they slap you with for failing to pay proper respect to your masters, right?
Yeah, pretty much.

Fun fact: LOLing is a misdemeanor, but LMFAOing is a felony.
Funner fact: This woman was known for doing this to Condoleeza Rice. I think she disappeared for a few years, though, but I'm glad she's back.
So, what you're saying is, you would.
That depends on where on she got the blood.
We all know that's not true.
Uh, where'd she get the blood from?
Don't ask questions that you don't really want to know the answer to.
Would she have done this to John Kerry or Hillary Clinton? Right, she's just another progtard partisan piece of shit with no principas. Her arrest sounds like chickens coming home to roost.
HuffPost reported an assistant U.S. attorney even asked the police officer who arrested Fairooz if she thought Shelby's comments were humorous. (The officer said they were not.)
Yes, when i want to know if something is funny, i look to a Capitol police officer to explain it to me.
Female police officer? Obviously a feminist. And feminists know when THAT'S NOT FUNNY!
Q. How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?
A. THAT'S NOT FUNNY.
A. Two. One holds both signs demanding equality while the other calls an electrician.
You forgot the third to loudly complain about "mansplaining."
I figured out after four years why I got arrested so many times. Dig what happens--it's been a comedy of errors...I do my act at, perhaps, eleven o' clock at night; little do I know that at eleven A.M. the next morning, before the grand jury somewhere, there's another guy doing my act who's introduced as Lenny Bruce in substance. "Here he is: Lenny Bruce, in substance." A peace officer...does the act. The grand jury watches him work, and they go: "That stinks!" But I get busted. And the irony is that I have to go to court and defend his act....Now the cop is going to do the act before the judge who never heard of Lenny Bruce before...."I don't remember the whole act, your honor, but I made these notes...Ah, let's see now: 'Catholic,' asshole,' 'shit,' 'in the park,' 'tits,' 'n 'shit,' 'n 'Catholics, 'Jews,' 'n 'shit.' That's about all I remember. That's about the general tenor of the act."-Lenny Bruce Performance Film 1965 3:10

This is almost like entrapment.
the laugh amounted to willful "disorderly and disruptive conduct" intended to "impede, disrupt, and disturb the orderly conduct" of congressional proceedings.
So the charge is based on the proceedings have an inherent "orderly conduct"; challenge that assumption, and the charge goes away. If there were both democrats and republicans in the room, the proceedings were not orderly.
Move to dismiss.
Woman Prosecuted for Laughing at Jeff Sessions During Confirmation Hearing disorderly and disruptive conduct. Fixed it for 'ya.
For once, we agree.
Wish I could generate some sort of 'give a crap' about this professional leftist protester...but I can't. Sorry.
not a great look for a notoriously thin-skinned administration
How does the Trump administration own this? Sessions wasn't even AG yet when the commie was arrested!
Because he is Trump. What else is needed?
US attorneys are in the executive branch, last time I checked.
At the time of the arrest no Trump appointees were in.
Not many are in now, either.
If laughing at the government is a crime, then who will our masters lead when there are none of us left to imprison?
I'm no fan of Sessions but don't ask me to feel sorry for these jackasses.
Especially since they're disrupting an important process. The one chance to grill cabinet appointees BEFORE they get indicted for so,etching. And these fags want to interfere.
I'm no fan of Sessions but don't ask me to feel sorry for these jackasses.
Woman was being a rude ass and is getting slapped for it. Empathy here is low.
You laugh in court and you'd ALSO be punished.
The protestor, as usual, lacks any sense of decorum and seems to think the world is dying to hear her take on issues.
Some courts deserve to be laughed at - derisively.
She and her group were there for the sole purpose of being a disruption. This is the result they were looking for. I hope they throw the book at her.
If Code Pink is anti-war, where was it from 2009-2017?
If they were anti-war, why would they be protesting Sessions who doesn't seem to have much of a hand in, you know, war and all.
Because they are pro-justice, and Sessions is the Anti-Justice.
Says who?
??????O just before I saw the paycheck which was of $9068 , I did not believe ...that...my father in law was like they say actually taking home money in there spare time on their computer. . there brothers friend haze done this for less than seven months and at present paid the loans on there apartment .??????? ?????____BIG.....EARN....MONEY..___???????-
You want another good laugh on Sessions? -- If you've ever heard him speak, check out "Huckleberry Hound" on YouTube or other venue. -- Amazing likeness! 8^)
I know it all fits the narrative around here, but that just didn't happen:
Fake News
Indeed.
And somehow I doubt that anyone who tried this at the Ninth Circuit would get the same sort of support from the same suspects.
Reason has become not much more than a place where people like C.J. Ciaramella pimp lefty talking points and false narratives.
So much attacking the messenger and ignoring the message. - Typical right-wing tunnel-vision. - Of course, it's absurdly ridiculous for anyone to say Huckleberry Sessions "record of "treating all Americans equally under the law is clear and well-documented."
His horrific record of persecuting minorities is clearly described in Coretta Scott King's letter.

Are there any scientific and/or medical purposes for the use of the psychotropic substances tobacco & alcohol? If there are, what are the scientific & medical purposes for the use of tobacco & alcohol?
What are the legitimate uses of the psychotropic substances, tobacco & alcohol, in this country?
What is(are) the reason(s) that tobacco & alcohol are exempt from the CSA [21 U.S.C. ? 802(6)]?
Why haven't you called for Congress to either:
1) Repeal the exemptions of tobacco & alcohol from the CSA and classify tobacco as the schedule I controlled substance it is by definition, and alcohol as the schedule II controlled substance it is by definition; or
2) Repeal the entire CSA and abolish the DEA?

Attorney General Sessions:
The Controlled Substances Act (CSA) states:
"The Congress makes the following findings and declarations:
(1) The Congress has long recognized the danger involved in the manufacture, distribution, and use of certain psychotropic substances for nonscientific and nonmedical purposes, and has provided strong and effective legislation to control illicit trafficking and to regulate legitimate uses of psychotropic substances in this country. Abuse of psychotropic substances has become a phenomenon common to many countries, however, and is not confined to national borders. It is, therefore, essential that the United States cooperate with other nations in establishing effective controls over international traffic in such substances."

Tobacco & alcohol are psychotropic (mood-altering) substances, affecting mental activity, behavior, or perception when ingested.
Tobacco & alcohol are the two most deadly & dangerous of all drugs.
Tobacco drug use accounts for more drug deaths (~480,000 tobacco drug deaths/year) than the summation of the drug deaths from the use of all other drugs, including alcohol, combined!

Headline: Dumb C*NT gets prosecuted!
Sorry don't really care! You can mock whatever on your own time or within bounds. This is for attention as their actions produce no result other than look at me. She got the attention, just not the kind she wanted.
Sorry, there are places where standards of conduct are upheld, including court rooms and, I believe, in the public viewing balconies of Congress. Rights freely exercised without laws enforced ultimately results in anarchy. The b!tch got what she deserved.
