Cops Force School into Lockdown Mode Because of a Scary Photo
KKK member, or house?

Police ordered a middle school in East Lansing, Michigan, to "shelter in place" last Thursday afternoon—that is, to allow classes to continue, but not allow anyone to enter or leave the building—after a student took a photo of what appeared to be nearby person in a Ku Klux Klan robe.
The MacDonald Middle School student forwarded the photo to his or her parent. The parent apparently contacted the cops, who issued the shelter order. Then they went to investigate the threatening Klansman.
According to the Lansing State Journal, here's what they found:
When police arrived, they discovered the photo did not show a person in a white robe. Rather, it captured the peak of a nearby home, according to East Lansing Police Lt. Steve Gonzalez.
The shelter in place order was lifted shortly thereafter, Gonzalez said, once police determined there was no threat. Only the peak of the nearby house, which is white, was visible due to a hill obstructing the view.
I guess maybe there aren't that many solo Klansmen hiking in full KKK regalia at lunch time in East Lansing.
But of course, now that schools understand and perform the types of protocol formerly confined to prisons, it's easy to have them react the same way.

Even if it was a Klansman, how would this have been a reasonable reaction? Are we still freaking out about scary clowns?
Honestly, I'm not really sure myself...is there a KKK subsect against Asians or are they included in their hateon too?
Full Demographics:
"The population density in East Lansing is 1952% higher than Michigan. The median age in East Lansing is 46% lower than Michigan. In East Lansing 76.35% of the population is Caucasian. In East Lansing 7.71% of the population is African American. In East Lansing 11.23% of the population is Asian."
Have you even seen Mississippi Burning?
No. But I assume it must be about a single Klansman burning down a school or something.
No, it was about a white house possessed by the spirit of Robert Byrd. Ironically, though, the house had a flat roof. Leaked all the time, I hear.
This.
The Klan are repugnant sacks of feces.
But they don't have a history - this past 40-odd years - of attacking schools or students.
Even if a Klansman was there (rather than, oh, an Italian Catholic doing dress-up in their similar-looking stuff) ... that's not a threat.
"But of course, now that schools understand and perform the types of protocol formerly confined to prisons..."
How is public K-12 school functionally different from a Prison, anyway? Length of sentence?
They usually won't shoot you if you try to escape.
It's more like one of those deals where you serve your sentence at the county jail on weekends.
Interesting concept; mandatory public school attendance K-12 akin to a sentence. Supported by tax dollars of course.
The difference is you get to go home at night if you go to school. Other than that, it's the same including the food.
A cop is smarter than a kid and a parent? Please.
Microaggression trigger, please.
Court OKs Barring High IQs for Cops
You would think the avenues available for kids to shut their own schools down is growing exponentially.
I'm shocked they tolerate the 5-day school week.
Back in my day (the '80s-'90s), we had to settle for just pulling the fire alarm. Not very subtle, but it got the job done. Kids these days don't know how good they have it.
Except if you were caught your parents were probably called in and they handled the discipline. If kids are caught now they have a police recorded that includes terrorism charges and will be placed on a government watch list.
80s euphemisms were the best.
I recall one or two bomb threats at school from the same time period. I'm pretty sure at least one was called in from the payphone in the school.
Everyone had to go out and hang around in the parking lot. Some brain damaged redneck kid tried to run the vice principal over with his car because he was pissed that he couldn't use the bathroom. Good times.
See? Transgender issues have been around a long time.
I chuckled.

Ooh, that's my favorite party game.
That game is gonna stop being fun when the racist giants from the north invade.
Fair enough; the house does not have first amendment rights to wear a white robe.
BTW, do they make churches shelter in place when the choir wears white robes?
I mean, there might be children in the congregation!
Exterminator was my nickname in reform school
This is a photograph of the house from the school's perspective.
Ooh, let's play "Crusty or House?"
The school is masturbating? Around all those kids? I think we've got bigger issues than some Klan activity, then.
The unholy alliance of the social justice left and the lawn odor right is turning America into a chickenshit police state. Sad!
Sadly, not peak derp.

Was it a photo of Trump or Hillary?
The parent apparently contacted the cops, who issued the shelter order.
Oh, FFS! Fine the parent and fire the cops.
Schools must prepare children for adulthood.
It makes as much sense as how spooked out Americans are about Muslims.
