The "nuclear option" on Supreme Court filibusters is appearing increasingly likely in the Senate.
Nuclear winter is coming.
But Winds of Winter is not.
Democrats.. have "genuine" concerns. Yes NPR we know how genuine they are.
I'm sure some are. Genuine doesn't have to be reasonable or well conceived.
Send the glow in the dark raven
It's hard to believe, but about 30 years ago Antonin Scalia was approved 98-0. Shortly after that, the despicable Ted Kennedy invented "Borking".
The rest as they say is history, and here we are.
I'm 30 but I remember the gang of 14 and the endless crap you heard in the media. Republicans wanted to kill the filibuster because the dems kept sacking their nominees (remember Miguel Estrada was blocked because "he is latino"; yeah that's been forgotten since it is inconvenient to leftists)
So a bunch of "moderates" come together and stop them from killing the filibuster to much joyous press coverage, since a bipartisan group saved us from those evil right-wingers! Seriously does anyone remember how this was wall to wall coverage? Then years later under Obama, Harry Reid does what the GOP wanted to do, and it's barely even a headline. Instead of "moderates" saving the senate, why Harry Reid saved the senate from those pesky rethuglicans!
Chris Christie will reportedly chair a federal opioid commission.
That's the bone he's getting tossed? AND STOP AT MICKEY D'S ON YOUR WAY THROUGH.
Never trust Christie with food.
Never trust Christie
Never Christie
They better bring a chaise longue.
A reinforced chaise lounge.
First Lady Melania Trump appeared at the State Department to present the International Women of Courage Awards.
Shouldn't the person getting the award be the headliner?
Without using google, can you name the last recipient of the International Women of Courage Award?
*That's* why Melania Trump's name is in the headline.
Police shot at and have arrested a woman who allegedly made an illegal U-turn, struck another vehicle, and "nearly" hit police close to the U.S. Capitol.
It's like DC never saw a woman driver before.
They killed the last one.
That was the 1st thing I thought of. She'd made an illegal turn too.
Petition to make Wednesdays #ADayWithoutWoman.
Amirite, fellas?
"Chris Christie will reportedly chair a federal opioid commission."
I think you put a 'p' where a 'v' should be
I think most of here like to put the p where the v is.
"Soldiers around Mogadishu shot and killed four civilians in three separate incidents"
They're padding their resumes for the Baltimore police department.
We know theae incidents all occurred in the same location, because how would the soldiers get to another place?
Truth
Because no roadz?
First Lady Melania Trump appeared at the State Department to present the International Women of Courage Awards.
Our government sure has a real hardon for giving work to unelected officials.
She should have received the award.
Police shot at and have arrested a woman who allegedly made an illegal U-turn, struck another vehicle, and "nearly" hit police close to the U.S. Capitol.
My guess: she simply wasn't paying attention because she was putting on makeup.
A deal between Kushner Companies and a Chinese group over refinancing 666 Fifth Avenue collapsed.
What you mean to say is Kushner is a stickler for the appearance of propriety.
Those wacky Chinese a d their 666 is evil beliefs.
If it had been 888 Fifth Avenue, it would have been a done deal long ago...

That explains the pixels.
I think that paying people to have sex while you photograph them is pornography.
But call me crazy.
...OK, I thought it would be vague Hollywood "sex." Didn't expect to open a page with fingerbanging.
The U.S. is advising against travel to Congo after an American and a Swedish U.N. expert who were missing for two weeks were found in a shallow grave.
Huh, so they weren't trafficked into a prostitution ring?

Hubba-hubba.
What up with that one pic? Is the trying to pull down the canyon walls?
You know, considering they contain Chris Christie, this is some pretty thin links. Slow news day, I guess.
Can we talk shit about Hillary Clinton bashing Bill O'Reilly for his "racist" comment about Maxine Waters' hair? Why didn't she go for the "misogynist" tag, too? "Anti-American", for that matter - Maxine Waters is an American, isn't she?
Can we talk shit about Hillary Clinton
WHO?!
"Retarded" covers O'Reilly adequately. WTF does a lady wearing a wig have to do with anything? He consistently reveals himself to be a non-thinking primate.
Also, "retarded" covers Waters.
She was getting all riot grrl on my TV this morning. I got to thinking, isn't one of the feminist axioms that women are exactly like men? In that case, why does every corporate boardroom and bake sale need "the woman's perspective" like she claims?
Bill O'Reilly and Hillary Clinton - - two people I could case less about. But Bill needs to watch what he says regarding other the appearance of other people - every time I see a picture of that idiot it looks like he has more foundation on than a dead person in a funeral home casket. He is probably worth hundreds of millions of dollars, but the dude is so ugly that even women he works with spurn his sexual advances.
And what ever happened to micro-aggressions? Did all the people weeping and wailing on college campuses finally get told to STFU?
[I can dream, eh?]

That sounds inscrutable to me.
I was gonna say they do this in NYC but the article beat me to it.

Only if you point with your pinky.
Why hasn't reason had any coverage on the repeal of the not yet enacted FCC privacy rules?
As Congress Repeals Internet Privacy Rules, Putting Your Options In Perspective
Since everyone is having fucking kittens about it I wonder what the real story is
The real story is that everything goes back to January and before Obama executive-ordered a mountain of things like this.
The real story is that Trump and the new FCC chairman believe that these regulations are the purview of the FTC and not the FCC.
And something about not overregulating the internet out of concern for imaginary problems.
Exactly - when two federal agencies pass different rules governing the same subject matter, that's usually at least one federal agency too many. Or sometimes two.
Need Someone to rent 666 fifth ave mmm why not SATAN!
It's like he's trolling Pat Robertson.
Trump's Secretary of the Interior proposes annexing part of Mexico to build the wall on, so they don't get a patriotic Murrican rivers:
Interior secretary hints border wall could be on Mexican land
Fucking hell guys, come on, you have an opportunity to justify sharks with laser beams on their heads and you're not going to take it?!?
And we're probably not going to put it in the middle of the river."
I assume Trump thinks he can build that wall from Colony.
They probably are only going to annex to the Mexico/ Guatemala border
That is actually pretty observant. Building a wall on our side of the river would totally fck up big bend national park.
Just use one of those wireless doggy fences and make everyone in Mexico wear one of those collars.

Good one. I shall adopt it and refer to all cops as such from now on.
Awesome. Trump can go full Bannon on the next pick. I'm looking at you, Ruth.
Corker apparently agrees. But misses one crucial point. It isn't the next president, it's the next pick for Trump.

I guess this one isn't too local.
For those nostalgic for Reason days gone by, I offer a good old-fashioned Balko nut punch:
Roberts, Alito: Cops who illegally entered home without warrant, shot married couple can't be sued . . . because the cops likely would have shot the couple anyway.
