Hello.
No, Rufus, too soon!
I was hoping his would be the sole comment this morning.
Too Soon was my nickname in college.
I thought it was "No, Rufus".
Huh. Small world.
Shaquille O'Neal gets a statue outside the Staples Center.
It's dunking on the Statue of Liberty.
Ivanka Trump will represent the U.S. at a women's empowerment summit in Berlin next month.
Which I can only imagine will go over very well in certain circles.
Reason web-biscuits: FIX THE FUCKING COMMENTS, GODDAMN.
Or, if emptying out the comments section was a condition of Postrel's return, at least let us know.
It's kinda sad, but at some point you have to believe that it stays this way because they want it this way. Or they don't really care enough about it.
I wouldn't be surprised at this point if they announce that they're switching comments to Twitter and Facebook.

I want a refund if this is what the donation drive was for.
I will not be silenced!
Thousands of people across Russia turned out for anti-government protests, with hundreds arrested in Moscow.
In America, people turn out for anti-Russia protests.
British authorities want WhatsApp, which the Westminster attacker allegedly used shortly before his rampage, and other encrypted services to share information with them.
Which will drive them out of business, which is okay too.
Shaquille O'Neal gets a statue outside the Staples Center.
Hopefully they put it on flat ground so it won't topple over.
The statue probably makes more free throws than the real guy.
Prosecutors in South Korea are seeking an arrest warrant for Park Guen-Hye, the country's first democratically elected president to be removed from office.
A shining example for the United States.
"Constitutional carry" is now the law in North Dakota, with any resident who's had a driver's license or other state ID for at least a year permitted to carry a concealed handgun.
That's not fair. No one even lives in North Dakota.
OTOH we now have half-again as many states, 12, with unlicensed concealed carry, as we have states that restrict licenses (8) with "discretionary" practices.
Mainstream Media will notice this Any Day Now.
Rising teacher pay drives cost of mid-Hudson education
If you just read the headline and these bullet points, you would think this was an article critiquing crazy costs. But from what I read it seems to be a piece promoting unionized labor, and all of its virtues.
Seems pretty balanced to me if you read the whole thing.
Did you think so? Fair enough then, I'll have to read it again and focus less on the quotes.
Uber is suspending its self-driving program after a self-driving car in Arizona flipped over during an accident for which it was not at fault and in which no one was injured.
The Uber was unter.

This place reminds me of an empty room inhabited by one coughing monkey.
WELL THEN IT'S NOT EMPTY, IS IT.
Adventures in Comics and the Real World
Does every superhero need to, at some point, go back in time and punch Hitler? I'm starting to think that maybe there's a reason he was such a dick.
But what's being celebrated as most fantastic in this comic is that Gabby Rivera, a young-adult author who is gay and Latina herself, is writing the adventures of America.
Fantastic would be if she was writing the adventures of a black, white or Asian, straight, male hero.
OMG a superhero just like me!
The coolest part about narcissism is me!
If there was a superhero just like me when I was younger I wouldn't have become the man I am today.
Veteran newsman Ted Koppel tells Sean Hannity he's bad for America
Ted Koppel is still alive? I thought his head collapsed under its own weight years ago.
Koppel: "You have attracted people who are determined that ideology is more important than facts."
Is such a thing even possible?
Lena Dunham got her eyebrows tattooed and you can watch the entire thing
I thought we weren't supposed to notice how she looks.

Last! Do I get a goodbye from Rufus?
