Links were snowed in.
A porn thread is an acceptable reason for the links being late. Robby, Shackafjord, et al., take note.
Mr. Soave treats objects like women, man.
Mr. Soave draws a lotta water in this town. You don't draw shit, Eugene.
Hello.
"The more expensive the college, the more likely the students are to resort to censorship."
TRUST FUND ACTIVISM.
Legit shocked that there's no link about Pi Day.

Four decimal points? You're trying too hard to sound rational.

Rep. Justin Amash is not a fan of President Trump's latest drone orders.
NOTHING TO CRY ABOUT.
Sen. Jeff Flake denounces Rep. Steve King's comments about immigrant babies.
Is this where we are? We all have to signal now? (Okay, now that I've signaled, I'll go read the context.)
Jared Kushner is making a $400 million deal with CHINA.
This is really going to fuel the president's antisemitism.
The Wall Street Journal has an illustrative profile of Steve Bannon.
Hmmmm. With the WSJ it could go either way. Let's have a look.
...
Ohhhh, a paywall. Not at all illustrative to this guy with two thumbs who's cheap and using them to point to himself.
Try a private browser.
Van Jones made a private business deal with communists while working in the White House?!?
Oh wait no it's Kushner and Trump's White House where ethics don't apply because hey look over there.
It's just getting started.
Leftists don't like their own lack of principles getting reflected back at them.
Good ol'-fashioned Red-baiting, angst over East Asian real estate deals, defense of free trade agreements, and progressive Hollywood's biggest money-makers are super-hero action movies with snappy one-liners.
Who could have anticipated that leftists would ever be so nostalgic for the 80s?

Cracked beat them to it.
Wow.
The more expensive the college, the more likely the students are to resort to censorship.
Seems logical. If you're attended a less expensive school, most likely you can't afford to squander too much time on anything but earning a degree and getting a job to pay off even that cheaper bill.
Natural Environmental Swings Cause Up To Half Of Arctic Sea Ice Loss
Last week you were an anti-science knuckledragging young-(flat)-earth-creationist if you attribute any meaningful amount of climate change to natural variation. Now you're only an anti-science knuckledragging young-(flat)-earth-creationist if you claim that natural variation accounts for 51% or more. And let there be no further mistake; human caused warming is responsible for the rest, not possibly responsible, not likely responsible, is responsible. End of story. THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED (again).
The more expensive the college, the more likely the students are to resort to censorship.
Duh.
I think some kids need a trip to Willy Wonkas chocolate factory.
Enough with the euphemisms, sicko. The porn thread is down below.
"The Wall Street Journal has an illustrative profile of Steve Bannon."
The WSJ google-proofed their website.
You can't reach their articles simply by googling them now. It's all behind a paywall now, even if you come from Google.
Just pay for the last legitimate national newspaper in America, you communist
Kushner bought the building in question, 666 5th Avenue, for himself as a birthday present.
Someone keep an eye on that guy.
It's an omen.
I go by Damian when I order coffee at places that ask for the customer's name.
Rep. Justin Amash is not a fan of President Trump's latest drone orders.
Well Donalds not fan of Amash's stupid face. Look at it. Like a child. Total disaster.

The Wall Street Journal has an illustrative profile of Steve Bannon.
It's just a picture of Bannon and Hitler making out and rounding second in front of a well-done steak dinner topped with ketchup.
But enough about horrendous atrocities.
It's worse than you think. It wasn't even Heinz. It was Hunts!!!!!!!!!!!
SAD.
The more expensive the college, the more likely the students are to resort to censorship.
Everyone knows that college is not the proper place for open debate and learning about new ideas. So sit down, shut up, and do as you're told, you racist, sexist, misogynist, cis. white, male, shitlord.
From Steyn article:
"In a sworn statement, another crew member recalled Steyn emailing employees late at night telling them to come to the studio the next morning for an unscheduled shoot. "When we showed up, Mark Steyn canceled the shoot."
If accurate, that's a dickhead move. I had a boss do that once. Not good for morale and then they expect respect.
Under that article there's a story about Monica Crowley and (alleged) plagiarism. Thing is, most pundits steal each other's ideas I reckon. Very few are really as smart or original as they come off. So they 'outsource' or collect date off other people's work and stuff. Heck, Zakaria still has a fricken job and he was featured in places like Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy over the years.
Crowley plagiarized large portions of her 2012 book What the (Bleep) Just Happened and her Columbia University Ph.D. dissertation. It isn't "alleged." She did it. And she got caught. And she withdrew her consideration for a senior post at the White House National Security Council because of it.

I'm not sure what to believe with the Steyn vs. CRTV dispute. Didn't seem like he was there long enough for all that to happen.
I do really like Steyn's commentary. He is witty and smart - and an unapologetic defender of free-speech. Wish the writers here could do that minus the virtue-signalling more often.
Many of the shows that would have aired on CRTV are now on his website,
http://www.steynonline.com/
He's definitely a good listen.
He is witty and smart - and an unapologetic defender of free-speech Republicans.
No not really. He is more an unapologetic defender of "Trumpism", i.e., anti-elite anti-globalist conservatism.
He's neither. He's old school Tory. Open your perspectives to something larger than the last two decades of American politics.
What is that, some Canadian shit?
You're right, DanO. People who are partisan shills aren't worth reading or interacting with.
Oh, wait......
I guess the storm is keeping people from commenting.
Afraid that ain't the "reason", Rufus.
/winks.
Gotcha.
Yeah I've noticed a rather steep drop off in comments. Haven't even cracked 50 comments after an hour and a half of Robby's shitty links.
The door is thataway----->
If you know that then why are you still posting?
Gee thanks for being helpful but people don't see to have trouble finding it.
Still a few cockroaches left.
Still a few cockroaches left.
With the arrival of some brand-new ones.
New Coke turns out to be better than Coke Classic.
Don't blame the splitters on Soave's choice to half-ass his Links which none of us appreciate anyway.
Just pointing out the PM Links comment deficit. No one split because Robby doesn't link real good, that's for sure. But it is a symptom of the Great Splitting I'd say.
While I lament the migration and their reasons for it, I think it's cool they've developed a new place for the community to flourish. It's not really for me. Plus, with the woodchipper nonsense and the lawyer thing before that, Reason has earned a little loyalty.
This year's webathon is going to be interesting. Or sad.
No it's not. It's Robby's shitty links. I didn't comment because there was nothing good, and I imagine so did a lot of other people.
Just when you thought you were out, I pull you back in.
I've noticed it too, but don't pay enough attention to know who has disappeared.
If this is because of that new glib something site, good riddance. I took a quick look and it's full of warnings about impolite or abusive or off-topic comments. I hate moderated sites, unless they are self-moderated by commenters rating other comments. If I wanted moderators censoring comments, I'd be more interested.
What kind of wuss wants someone else to protect his sensibilities? Progressive-lites?
Yuck. Grow up.
You can be a pretty big cunt over there and get away with it. It's more troll control than anything else (i.e. a certain obsessive troll is interested in crashing it).
What's this site?
The twitter's got a link.
What did DanO do specifically to get banned over there? Because he has toned it down in this new incarnation and has been rather tolerable around here recently.
This comment was very enlightening. Thank you.

"..Because he has toned it down in this new incarnation and has been rather tolerable around here recently."
So that troll was WORSE somewhere else? Pathetic.
I came to Reason's comments (more) in the past because there were a lot of smart and funny people in them. I did this for my enjoyment. Nobody was paying me to do it and there was no duty or moral imperative involved.
If you want to wade through shitty comments by/about sockpuppet trolls who comment in bad faith and LITERAL SPAM as some sort of intellectual purity test, be my guest. I'll be (mostly) over with the smart, real people being funny and discussing libertarian stuff in good faith.
I'm pretty confident that the staff over there is not going to ban anyone who is participating in good faith.
Humanity now has 20+ years of experience with online community. It turns out that, unless you're 4chan and everyone is anonymous, banning trolls makes a rather significant positive difference in the ability of non-trolls to participate in the community.
What? Every single comment thread there is, as here, a free for all as far as topic is concerned.
Are you sure you actually saw the site in question and not your own preconceived notions?
Nah....it's dumb and dumber.
Cosmetic courage, and therefore existential validity, is manufactured effortlessly by restricting the disinclined.
Dictators and parasitic empty trash plucked from rich vaginas are quick to discover this.
Cash money tyrants sulking behind ivy scapes and brownstone bleed joy at the possibility of earning a backbone over 24-karat causes dashed against the heads of the hapless and resisting.
Mark Steyn.
I accept climate change. I like Dr. Mann's efforts, but vehemently object to his lawsuit against the douche-bag Steyn. It should not prevail in court because it'll set a dangerous precedent on how to settle science. And it should not be possible to use the government to shut someone down.
That said, fuck Steyn.
"...I like Dr. Mann's efforts,..."
At what? Making bad predictions?
Hell, my dog can do that.
I like Dr. Mann's efforts ... fuck Steyn
You like the efforts of a liar and fraud because he has the right intentions, and you hate the guy pointing this out because you don't like his politics.
That's just peachy.
Donkeys to shut down Guv:
^^THIS will MAGA!
Schumer apparently believes that government keeps the economy running, rather that the other way around.
I thought government shut downs were unpatriotic and literally Hitler or something, now the Democrats are threatening it? I never imagined Senate dems could be so hypocritical. I'm stunned.
Presented as top of page one news by local rag (wondering why it's not making money):

I'm wondering if they are capable of embarrassment.
Sevo, I haven't commented here in a while, but I dropped in to check in on you.
Your presence would be welcome at the other place. You're knowledgable and have a lot to contribute. And some people want to get on your lawn.
I'm not saying that I won't ever be back here, but they need to get their affairs in order. Hope to see you soon.
Appreciate the kind words.
Sugarfree's got an addy I still use; drop a note.
I let him know, but I think he's in for the night. Glibertarians.com. We run the site. You can sign up with a throw away email if you want. All of the familiar faces are there.
Lurked now and then. No rush.
As long as you're aware.
Gn.
Why not make this public? What follows is not any sort of secret.
There are 'familiar faces' *there* (you, not another skippy, hm, and others) who are worth engaging. But while you and they (and others) are there, it seems it is not now (or yet) a neutral ground where agreements or duels can be executed, it is a frat house giving scant space to those who disagree.
DanO is an ignorant twit who deserves the excrement piled on him here. Tony needs to be 'corrected' in his constant whining regarding how all of the rest of us should protect his gated community from the hoards of poor who will attack him. Trueman is an idiot unlettered in history; for anyone checking in, it needs to be obvious that he has no source for his claims. And so forth (turd? have you fucked your daddy?)
I agree that Reason's articles have tanked; the focus on how Trump is a big poppyhead is pathetic. my response is simple:Last year, Reason got a great, big contribution of the mid three-figures! If Matt can't see the difference between that and the former amounts, Reason needs to look at what Matt is doing.
Why not both?
IMHO, it's much more neutral. No trolls, so everything goes smoothly. Different viewpoints are more than welcome; encouraged in fact.
Can you imagine reason running an article like this?
Very controversial. Lots of disagreement. No shit flinging.
Mary/DanO has already been banned once.
I gave more than 3 figures. As things stand now, I won't make that mistake again.
I'll try that link again.
here.
That has not at all been my experience. Yes, threads are not dominated by two or three people who aggressively disagree, but those who are able to disagree in good faith seem to have plenty of space to do so.
Bless you for thinking you're "piling excrement" on "him," but what you are actually doing is called "Feeding a Troll."
You can't have a real discussion with someone who is arguing in bad faith. You can yell a lot at them, and if that's what you're in it for... ok... I guess? Seems like a waste of time and energy.
Speaking only for myself, I'd prefer if you'd spend your time having real discussions with "us," instead, because you seem smart and I'm curious what'd you have to say. Reading you repeatedly insulting trolls doesn't do much for me...
And trump plays the media once again.
