A judge in Providence, Rhode Island, has dismissed a ticket issued to a woman for parking in a spot two seconds before she could legally park there. If he had not dismissed the ticket, she faced a $90 fine.

Rand Paul is leading the charge on libertarian resistance to Donald Trump:

"just don't think it's useful to be doing investigation after investigation, particularly of your own party," Paul added. "We'll never even get started with doing the things we need to do, like repealing Obamacare, if we're spending our whole time having Republicans investigate Republicans. I think it makes no sense."

I didn't see anything about the woman being beaten by a cop, bodyslammed by a cop, no knee in the back by the cop. Boy, the threshold for getting a brickbat is kind of weaksauce. Why, the potential sum of money she faced getting confiscated was almost $100 too.

"Boy, the threshold for getting a brickbat is kind of weaksauce."

Exactly. I read Brickbat for a morning nutpunch, not a half-hearted handjob.

Step up your game, Oliver. With many of my favorite commenters saying adieu it's becoming harder and harder to find a reason to keep coming back here and this lazy shit isn't helping.

He explained that the ticket, had it been paid within 14 days, would have been $30. If the ticket was paid within 28 days, it would have doubled.

However, by the time Sarah was able to bring the ticket to court, passing the 28 day grace period, it cost her $90.

New England sure knows how to seek that rent.

it's RI after all, cut them a little slack. Their state beverage is called a cabinet, (it's really only coffee milk, but don't tell them that).

"To issue and cite" should be their new motto.
