Brickbat: How Do You Say That in French?

Robert Menard, mayor of Bexiers, France, has been charged with incitement to hatred or discrimination after noting in a TV interview that 91 percent of the students in one class in his town are Muslim. "Obviously, this is a problem," he said. Menard says he was simply describing the reality of life in his town.

He meant it's a math problem. "If 91% of students are Muslim, tell me, students, what percent of the children won't grow up to be le terrorist?"
Does 8% sound about right?
There is a typo, the town is called Beziers, not Bexiers.
Not for long. Soon it will be Allahville.
Not to be mistaken with Alphaville.
Explodadelphia.
New Medina. New Mecca is what London will eventually be called.
It identifies as a bexier, though.
Perhaps the French language doesn't have a good translation of "Fuck off, slaver!"
It's OK to decry american capitalistic endeavors as a threat to their culture, but not a massive influx of immigrants from a foreign land with no desire to assimilate.
Somebody else has noticed this too?
I mean, they have a committee to pass judgement on what words are or aren't allowed into their language but actual people with dissimilar cultures? Bring'em on in!
That's because the words don't come w bombs attached.
I dunno, I think they want to assimilate, it's just they want to be the ones doing it to the French. Charles Martel must really be spinning in his gave.
It's hard to watch Star Trek's Borg and not think of Islam. They won't stop until either everyone is dead or absorbed into the collective.
And yet, the French kinda deserve it. They turned their back on their own Celtic culture and language in favor of that of the Romans.
Lord have mercy, a grudge that goes back to Roman times. I'm impressed.
Don't get him started on what happened to his Neanderthal ancestors.
You are talking about the Continental Celtic here or the Brittany Celtic?
or the Boston Celtic(s)?
Oh, hell, what about the Phoenecians of Algeria doing the same, earlier? For that matter, the Romans rolling over to a Near-Eastern cult?
So you're not a aware of the tremendous improvement standards that came with Roman culture. The Romans in many ways had a superior culture. What's happening in Europe is the inverse, the inferior culture is taking over because the otherwise superior European culture is infected with moral relativism and leftist weakness.

The French aren't Celts, they're Gallo-Romanic-Germans.
Well, the Franks were a Germanic people, not Celtic, but they mixed some Celtic culture in with Roman and Germanic ones. It's why there are so many hybrid traditions around holidays.

We're still talking about France, right? Because if all the celebrities threatening to move to Canada follow through, Quebec might have a problem.
My last time in B?ziers, I visited the notable cathedral. Beautiful. France is a crazy place. Further in that trip I visited Albi. Major I don't care about NAP.
Clearly he's discriminating. Assuming anyone still remembers what the word actually means.
Sounds more like a case against the "incitement" part.
I clicked on the first Brickbat of the year for this?! A frog saying something untoward about Muslims?!
I prefer my nut-punches flavored with a healthy dash of Americana, thank you very much!

Obligatory? I think so.
OT. NYTimes tells us that the guy did the best that could be hoped for -- the world just wasn't ready for him. Their headline this morning:
A Fractured World Tested the Hope of a Young President
A strategy that went from a "good war" to the shorthand "Afghan good enough" reflected President Obama's coming to terms with what was possible in Afghanistan.
NYT...quelle douche
A funny thing, if you click on the link in the story and scroll down there's another story titled "France: the battle against gender segregation in French suburbs". It's a story about some feminist activist agitating against the "men only" cafes in suburban Paris. The feminist activist is a rather dark-skinned French woman named Aziza Sayah and the track-suited patrons of the men only caf? seem to be somewhat swarthy for native-born Frenchmen - one of them even saying something about how they do things "in our home country". (I can assume they must be Italians.) For some odd reason, they bring up cultural and religious beliefs as well.
In context, from the linked story, the remark looks worse.
the great replacement
Le petite mort was already taken.
how about Grand Douche (honorable mention)?
