Brickbat: Mystery in the Wax Museum

An elementary school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has canceled a planned "wax museum" after several third-graders said they were going to dress as Adolf Hitler. According to local media, other "controversial" figures students planned to portray were Donald Trump and Christopher Columbus.

after several third-graders said they were going to dress as Adolf Hitler
All great museums have several copies of each exhibit.
Imagine if they dressed as The Founders! The horror!
Can we Godwin people born before Hitler?
Considering Cristobal Colon was mentioned by name (Columbus), and he preceded Ole Shicklegruber by a number of years and accused of many of the same crimes as Hit-Bomb, why not?
I was under the impression Godwinning is irrespective of when the Godwinnee preceded or followed Hit-Slice.
Malthus existed before Hiitler, and he was upset about too many of the wrong sorts of people being born, so yes I would say you are clear to Godwin any modern Malthusians.
That is unfair to Malthus. He was simply concerned that the population would eventually reach a point where it could not be fed. It was others who used his work to argue for horrible policies.
eat the surplus...soylent green solution
OT on MSNBC they are crying about the electoral collage and democracy and the 'will of the people' It has begun.
The people elected the wrong person. We must select new people!
I checked CBS and they have him at 150k up on the popular vote as well. Which last time I checked is 150000x what's required to win the popular vote
"The people have spoken, the bastards!"
I'm wearing wax lips right now.
Is that some kinda strange Japanese sex toy?
" strange Japanese sex toy"
Is there any other kind?
is there any other/better kind?
Glenda Farrell was great in the movie:
All right, then you can go to some nice, warm place, and I don't mean California.
Adolf vs Anne smackdown
"This time it's gonna be different."
You know who else dressed like Hitler?
Mel Brooks?
Dick Shawn?
Brooke Shields?
Obi-Wan Kenobi?
Cartman?
Lady Gaga?
Prince Harry?
Eva Braun?
Call back! Nice
Bruno Ganz?
Ok children, since your wax display is cancelled we are having a reading period. Open your little red books to page 56 please.
Something just ain't right about a newspaper article that's bringing up the question of whether or not third-graders can properly appreciate who and what exactly Hitler was that also feels the need to include an old file photo of Hitler just in case, you know, a lot of their readers don't know which Hitler we're talking about. And if they're lumping Hitler and Columbus and Trump into the problematic basket of deplorables there, aren't the third-graders in fact correct to view Hitler as "just some guy" rather than some uniquely monstrous historical figure? (Yes, yes they are. Hitler was not an aberration - this is how human beings with power act, kiddies. A large part of human history involves powerful rulers killing as many people as they can lay their hands on, often in creatively horrible ways. Stop giving people power.)
Anyone else see Stossel's auto-posted article at 0100 titled "It's Over"?
Dewey defeats Truman
This election was way past Stossel's bedtime.
I stayed up until 2am my time watching the returns (Pennsylvania slow-walked that last two percent and no one wanted to call at 98%). I missed the auto-posted article. I did hear someone on a livesteam complaining about Alaska not "having their shit together" for not being able to call before 1am... when the polls closed in Alaska (the fact they were probably ignorant of).
This is why I don't make huge predictions. I never thought Trump was going to win in the Primaries. Well fuck, I was wrong. I never thought Trump had a chance in the general. Fuck, I was wrong again.
The only real prognostication I'm willing to standby is that we're all doomed. Doomed I tell ya. It's a generally good prediction, without saying anything too specific..
