That's just over $400 a week! That can't possibly be a living wage.
If they like you, they'll get you high and ignore you breaking into the liquor cabinet. Also, you at least get a comfy chair to sleep/work in.
Just what is a 'living wage' for a slave?
Enjoying a pulse, respiration, and RoM.
Don't forget cocktail parties.
Just remember, Warty's basement is actually under their DC office.
"Stipend" instead of "salary" is how the Kochtopus gets around minimum wage laws.
Those numbers don't add up to be worth the effort, especially since one of the downsides is that the job is in DC.
Who do you think you're kidding? There are many in the commentariat who would PAY to be a Reason intern if their schedules would allow it.
Can you imagine if the commentariat wrote the articles. The lulz would be epic at least. And at least one Sugarfree story a week, or maybe just a continuing dram. Plus the AG poetry corner.
drama
You were correct the first time. "Dram" is an archaic term for "small drink." It's still used in some situations, like "dram shop laws."
It's also rarely used in the US, but used in Euro-landia, as an Apothecary System unit of measurement. Mass, specifically whereas a fluid dram is volume.
I remember a few old timey docs, when I was in residency, that wrote orders in drams/fluid drams for certain meds.
I wonder if AG has ever considered selling a compilation of his works on Amazon.
The commentariat (for good or bad) is the only reason I still come here. If they became "establishment"? There's always watching grass grow...
How will I manage the orphans in my coal mine then?
If you haven't figured out how to remotely manage mine orphans, you're really not cut out for libertarianism. This failure implies you're actually going to or into the mine to manage it!
Will there be parties floggings?
Flogging parties.
How much more cluttered can the website get?
Do you take heavy drinking stoners who defy all reason with their philosophy degree's by being employed in the corporate sector? Even when they told us we'd never find a job! Little did I know the curse that was the cubicle devoted to government compliance and stoner bashing. I like just went in and applied, man, I didn't know this was what was beyond door #1.
Maybe before you take on new interns, you should find out which intern decided that overlay on the home page was a good idea and have them flogged and locked in the stockade. And whichever one of them decided to make the overlay resistant to my ad blocker should skip the stockade and be fed straight to the wood chipper after their flogging.
erm not stockade, "the stocks" but on second thought make that an iron maiden should you have one laying around.
Are you crazy? You can't flog interns. They like it!
"Send the links to Fist for approval."
Deadline tomorrow? Ha! What a devious way of weeding out those who can't meet short turnaround times.
Sure, but how many interns are currently eating out of dumpsters in the back of a Chik-Fil-A nursing a crack habit?
I thought that was just understood.
The job includes reporting and writing for Reason and reason.com, helping with research, proofreading, and other tasks.
IOW, being a member of the Commentariat.
'proofreading'
