The European ExoMars Schiaparelli space probe has likely failed to land on Mars.
If only someone in Europe had a word for joy in other's failure.
I believe that word is "Hitler".
Marsenfraude?
* stare and looks around with eyes wide open*
I guess this is the right place.
*looks at GPS*
Says right here this is PM Links.
"Hello" ? "Hello " ? "Is this PM links" ?
*no answer*
Guess I'll hang around a bit to check this place out. Might be fun.
Jesus titty fucking Christ, man! The beef rib from Killen's was insanely good! Thanks for the recommendation.
It's pretty magic, eh? Glad you liked it.
While I appreciate the joke, I would have liked to have seen this succeed. We have enough firsts on Mars that they'll have to do something spectacular (manned mission, sample return) to leapfrog us. The more we learn about Mars the better. Even if they do find evidence of life, it will be due to the good luck of looking in the right place.
Better joke: Now that the Brits are out, no one was around to convert the Imperial measurements to metric for them.
I think Europe has done enough colonizing, don't you?
Nah, like 90% of the 1st world countries on the planet have European colonization to thank for it.
Also, 90% of third world countries.
I'm not sure the colonization is why they are still crapholes, though.
300 years later...? don't buy it. Pretty sure it was the propensity to hold senseless ethnic grudges for centuries.
More like 50-60 years, actually.
Regardless, colonization is no guarantee of future poverty. If anything, I'd say many of those societies benefited from being brought out of neolithic living conditions.
-1 hand
The Africans started this colonization craze millennia ago. Blame them.
I agree Tonio. When the radio told me they had "lost contact" with the lander I immediately felt sad. Just think, that little probe out there lost on a foreign world with no one to tell it what its purpose in life is. Tragic.
Sometimes it's better not knowing.
Ahhh! Woooh! What's happening? Who am I? Why am I here? What's my purpose in life? What do I mean by who am I? Okay okay, calm down calm down get a grip now. Ooh, this is an interesting sensation. What is it? Its a sort of tingling in my... well I suppose I better start finding names for things. Lets call it a... tail! Yeah! Tail! And hey, what's this roaring sound, whooshing past what I'm suddenly gonna call my head? Wind! Is that a good name? It'll do. Yeah, this is really exciting. I'm dizzy with anticipation! Or is it the wind? There's an awful lot of that now isn't it? And what's this thing coming toward me very fast? So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like 'Ow', 'Ownge', 'Round', 'Ground'! That's it! Ground! Ha! I wonder if it'll be friends with me? Hello, Ground!
Have they managed to probe Uranus, yet?
Why visit a place so well-traveled?
Nobody goes to Disneyland; it's too crowded!
Eugene's asshole was pulled into a lake by an alligator?
Yes, but only twice.
Alligator: "You don't come here for the hunting, do you?"
Pfft! Your mom's on Uranus.
The European ExoMars Schiaparelli space probe
Did they paint the probe shocking pink?
If only someone in Europe would tell Reason that ignoring the O'Keefe videos is going to be the end of them.
Hello.
Federal court tells EPA to calculate job losses from its rules
But remember that this ruling can be appealed to the Circuit court and to SCOTUS.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, THE GOVERNMENT can have an adverse effect on employment?!
I know, right?
Nope. These billionaire businessmen who own the coal mines could still employ all their workers at $500 an hour even with the regulations, but they're too greedy.
Wanna shock me? Show me an instance where THE GOVERNMENT can have a positive effect on employment...
"We hereby repeal all regulations related to industry X"
I think he was asking for a real example, not an appealing fiction. 😉
We do have a number of failed socialist states for examples, if that is sufficient example. Doing so badly that government collapses entirely and leaves everyone better off isn't exactly the example that was asked for, but we've got to take what we can get.
Selective Service?
Of course they wouldn't care. They're parasitical sociopaths.
a U.S. District Court in Wheeling ruled that the EPA has a legal responsibility to determine the economic impact of its decisions.
And what about the economic impact of Democratcare?
*** taps foot ***
Judge Bailey obviously did not read the last ACA ruling by SCOTUS.
A "wall" of taco and other food trucks was part of a union protest against Donald Trump in Las Vegas ahead of the final presidential debate.
Not protectionist enough?
I, too, feel like Trump and insist that my punishment be that taco trucks surround my house and force me to survive off their wares. But not the construction site roach-coaches with microwave burritos. Real tacos, por favor.
It said 'UNION'; what kind of food and service do you think you're gonna get?
See, so many think that union means a lack of quality, and that just isn't true. Sure, they work slow. Sure, they have lots of rules. But I'm here to tell you that for only triple the cost, a union worker can, when boxed into a situation where he or she must work, turn out the same quality as any non-union employee.
Sometimes a statement might be called "dripping with sarcasm." This comment takes it to a new level. It's like a Bose-Einstein condensate of sarcasm, where the ordinary rules that apply to matter no longer apply.
"It said 'UNION'; what kind of food and service do you think you're gonna get?"
I was looking for the DMV. This is the DMV, right?
I know the default Libertarian position is against Unions. I'm currently employed in a steel mill as an electrician in a right to work state. I have been here for a little over two years. It's the first union job I have had.
I fully understand that unions, especially closed shop and public sector unions, can have a very negative effect on quality, production, and cost. However, I don't see it where I currently work. The right to work laws keep something of a balance between the company and the unions. I also see a union as a voluntary association. All that said, I'm still somewhat dubious about them. Thoughts?
A short link to someone slightly smarter than me:
Don Boudreaux is a great resource for all things Economic.
I won't speak for anyone else, but I'm fine with unions as collective bargaining agencies so long as they are (1)voluntary and (2)given no more or less legal authority than any other sort of collective. If an employer wants to hire only union people because the quality of work is better or just because having everyone under one collective bargaining agreement saves paperwork and time, that's fine. Its the NLRB siding with the unions and acting as an illegal force multiplier I have a problem with. One of the best pipe-fitters I ever heard of was a union guy to the core. And also a libertarian. As he saw it, the union saved him time and acted as a job-placement agency, allowing him to make ridiculous wages and tell any given employer he didn't like to fuck off.
This.
Right-to-work laws substantially alter the equilibrium, such that unions must constantly adapt to serve the workers' and employers' interests lest they be seen as unacceptable paycheck deductions. I've got no problems with private-sector unions in right-to-work states. Although I do think an employer should be free to set up a closed shop voluntarily which is not possible under right-to-work laws.
Private-sector unions in states that aren't right-to-work are a different animal. I have never seen a group of people so invested in myopic self-interest. They were more than happy to be filing grievances and demanding better benefits despite the obvious signs their plant was going under. Lo and behold, they were all out of jobs before too long, despite the company as a whole not being in a financial slump.
And public-sector unions are an abomination and a conspiracy against the public.
I'm sure under Hillary they'll get all the regulation they want.
Aren't food trucks entrepreneurial (or franchised, which I suppose is also a form of entrepreneurship)?
In my experience, they are all entrepenuerial, but NYC, so who knows.
Most of them have maybe 3 or 4 employees, max, including the owner(s), so how they would be unionized is beyond me, unless there's a bunch of them owned by one company.
Dude.
A "wall" of taco and other food trucks was part of a union protest against Donald Trump in Las Vegas
a union protest
On the side of a Democrat? No way.
If your taco truck is using union labor you are doing it wrong
Taste of Las Vegas?
Ecuador confirmed it had shut down internet access for Julian Assange, who is staying at the country's embassy in the United Kingdom, because of his "interference" in the U.S. election.
Can't wait for the Wikileaks with emails from the White House to Ecuador.
When will the US "aid package" to Ecuador be announced?
It will be a plane-full of Sacagawea dollars.
Fired from an AC-130 minigun
God I hope so. That would be plenty cool
Coincidentally, a cargo plane with a pallet of cash that we "owed" Ecuador recently landed in that country.
Isn't Ecuador interfering in our election by withholding relevant information from the us voters?
^This.
If you define "interfering" as: "Providing evidence that the lying politicians that are lying to you are lying," then I suppose you have him there. As long as what they are leaking is true, which would be the only concern.
If only we had some sort of governmental body that could investigate these claims and then take appropriate action against the guilty parties when needed, we wouldn't need WikiLeaks to publish things. Well, one can dream.
Buyer's remorse
Well, at least they seem to learn from their mistake, unlike, well, nearly all of the USA.
Is anybody surprised?
What's up with Wildrose anyway? I don't follow Alberta politics enough to know, but didn't their old leader claim to be a 'libertarian', then flip to the Tories awhile back?
**HEAVY SIGH**
Yeah, that was Danielle Smith. Whilst I was still in Alberta, I voted for Wildrose in the next-to-last election. Lots of people changed their minds over the weekend before and pulled the lever for the Tories.
The NDP is God's Judgment against Albertans. I guess every so often you have to have plagues and pestilences sent your way to truly appreciate how good you had it before...
What language is this in?
Google translate is stumped...

I could use a new stick...
Police are looking for a... well, a Canadian.
The suspect was described as having beady eyes, a flapping head, and a love for something called "Kraft dinner."
NOT "Kraft Dinner"!
"KD," dammit!

How many fucking hockey sticks can you get for $150K?
Oh, wait, is that $150K Canadian? Aren't hockey sticks already considered currency?
Aren't hockey sticks already considered currency?
No, they still use Canadian Tire money.
I remember buying Sher-Wood sticks for $10-$15. Now I go look for a stick I see a few for $150.
Police followed a trail of footprints in the syrup to the site of the getaway moose before the trail, and the poutine, went cold.

Also, I just realized someone stole a pair of sunglasses and some spare change from my car.
Corey Hart is Canadian, hasn't had a hit record in 30 years, and wears Sunglasses At Night. I'd bring him in for questioning.
It'll be a fight though, because he'll Never Surrender.

Even Ecuador wants Hilldawg.
Ecuador doesn't want the nuke they'd get for letting Assange keep yapping.
Interesting video. It doesn't appear Reason has addressed this yet.
Our own Don Quixote...
The quick-take on this stuff from the 5th Column podcast was...
... O'Keefe is not credible. Ergo, why bother looking into it.
Yeah, the video was really all computer generated imagery done by the Russians.
Foval and Creamer immediately getting fired was an unrelated coincidence.
Is that so?
Even if O'Keefe is full of shit, and his presentations are made in a way that is designed for partisan-media for turn into their own sensationalized horseshit...
...at the very least, he is pointing his fingers at stuff that no one else is looking at. And there's no reason that allegations can't be looked into by others.
Richard Bradley is the guy who "broke" the UVA rape-hoax story, but all he did was say he didn't like the sound of it. The reason other people actually followed up and began to expose the genuine flaws in the RS piece was because the "credible media" believed he might be right.
My point is that i think the 'ratfucking' stuff that both political parties do is probably legion. and there are good stories there. Just because some dipshit you don't like happens to be the one outing some of it isn't a valid reason to ignore those stories.
Gil, I'm pretty sure both Homple and Derp made their comments with a heaping helping of /sarc tag.
Also, back when Reason found O'Keefe perfectly legit, just like Assange.... The nut known as ACORN didn't crack itself, lest we forget.
\
oh, i read the "unrelated coincidence" as sarc. It was that i was unaware there were any firings in the aftermath.
Particularly since, you know, no one in the wider media seems to report on the topic.
Yes, and they noted that in the podcast. I thought it was weird - and maybe i mis-read their take ... what i gathered was that they thought that the Conservative obsession with ACORN was probably overblown - and that while O'Keefe's 'investigation' did in fact achieve effective goals.... the methods he used and his reporting was a bit suspect on its own. As in, you shouldn't necessarily assume he's coming at this as a "reporter" - he's coming at it as a partisan propagandist in his own right. And even if he does expose some bad-stuff on the other team, he himself isn't exactly Upton Sinclair
They are ready for Hillary. I'm not going to forget that.
They would have but the White House sent an E-mail threatening their internet connection
O'Keefe is as icky to the cosmotarians as he is to the power elite. If a writer brings up an O'Keefe investigation, he won't get invited to all the cool DC and LA cocktail parties.
Claudia Rankine: why I'm spending $625,000 to study whiteness
Genius grant irony.
If I was a person with dark skin I would be writing my smooth balls off in order to get in on this scam people like her and Coates have going on.
No kidding. She didn't think to contact any university history department for a reading list?
Genius and stupidity, separated by a sheet of paper.
Sponsored by Clorox?
I hope they keep pushing this bull shit and eventually jump the shark. It's getting really boring. People will eventually rebut and help put an end to this mad obsession with race. They can only take being bashed for so long. After a while it goes from 'hm. Maybe we could be better or weren't fair" to 'hang on a second! Knock it off!'
Her exercise seems arbitrary and pointless. Nice to get 625k if you can get it. Shame she won't or can't put it to better use.
Eventually?
'...and that white dominance is not inevitable.'
Excellent, she knows some history.
"I said, 'Well, you know. Books that address the ways in which white contemporary artists deal with whiteness, interrogate it, analyze it, work in ways that push up with constructions of whiteness.' He's like, 'I don't know what you mean.'"
Nobody knows what you mean, not even you.
If she was my professor I'd be like all 'wtf, babe?'
"presenting space and a think tank all at once"
So, a warehouse.
^This.
Has it ever occurred to her and her ilk that defining yourself and your group based on how you compare to some other group is a losing proposition? It's almost as if her motto is To Be Black: What's up with Whiteness, anyway?
It's almost as if white people don't spend all of their time considering what sort of monolithic, cookie-cutter attributes we can use to broadly define our less melanin'd.
It's almost as if white people don't define themselves solely by how easily they burn in the sun.
It's almost as if...
So, a warehouse.
I picture something more like one of those fish-bowl space helmets, without any air-holes.
With their own farts pumped in by air hose, a la South Park?
Rejected headline - New, exciting way found to light $625,000 on fire.
Excellent!
Omar Little has a sad.
where artists and writers can really wrestle with race
That is, waste her stipend.
"We believe that we can understand whiteness better if we order the baked Alaska."
Might be a pretty good money laundering operation. I mean, no one's expecting a "Racial Imaginary Institute" to produce anything of substance or value. If she just pockets the cash, no one will really know the difference as it'd be the same outcome as if all the cash had been spent to allow people to ponder the mysteries of white people.
Fucking "Imaginary", I mean, really?
So, the latest prog talking point about voter fraud on my derpbook feed is that from 2000 to 2010 there have only been "13 credible cases of in-person voter impersonation." Here are the problems with that:
* That is still 13 too many since even a single vote can swing an election.
* These are only the ones that came to light and were prosecuted. Unknown how many more slipped by unnoticed.
* "in-person voter impersonation" doesn't count fraud via mail-in ballots.
* This also completely ignores the larger documented attempts at fraudulent registration. Obvious redirection attempt.
I always like to point out how like 60-70% of black people agree with voter ID laws. Pretty much every demographic you look at says to themselves, "Hm. Seems reasonable." The exceptions are basically Salon.com reader. The true retarded of the left.
I have a cousin who is basically the archetypal salon/huffpo/dailykos moron. I swear she gets DNC talking points beamed into the vast wasteland where her brain should be.
Plus, the total number doesn't seem to take into consideration just how big/small each incident was. Was each instance just one person? Was it 100? 1,000?
Good catch, Digby. Also, total number of fraudulent votes cast.
The people who dismiss this won't ever care about our good points until they have their political ass bitten off.
Up here Americans freaking out about voter ID laws is seen as the weirdest thing outside of super-progressive circles. We require ID to vote and have absolutely zero 'national conversations' about how it screws over the poor or whatever, so looking down south makes us laugh and go "oh those Americans, they'll make a big stupid deal out of anything."
I imagine this is true in Europe as well. The idea that, in this day and age, you wouldn't be expected to show identification to cast a vote is just patently absurd.
That's the perk of living in a socialist wonderland. Everybody is recorded, registered, and 'in the system'. Very easy to keep track of who is doing what.
"Impersonation" is simply one tiny slice of a very large category of fraud.
The goalposts are moving from "It never happens".
A civil rights lawyers group is suing Virginia for technical difficulties with its online voter registration on the last day to register.
Those disenfranchised procrastinators will sign on to that class action any day now.
Same thing happened in FL due to Hurricane Matthew. First they extended it a couple of days due to the last day for registration coinciding with the hurricane. Then they extended it again (to yesterday) for... I can't figure out why. All I know it's the GOP's fault because they're racist. Or so my Facebook feed tells me.
Why do you have a Facebook feed?
Because I hate myself.
Meanwhile, I got a fucking juror questionnaire today that I shouldn't have. (I last did jury duty Memorial Day week of 2015, and should be exempt for six years.)
The thing is, I go by my middle name, and somehow I've wound up in the system as both first name/middle initial/last name and middle name/first initial/last name. I already went through this once before with the commission of jurors the last time I got an inappropriate questionnaire back in ~2003, and again it didn't get corrected.
At least this time, the guy I talked to on the phone didn't try to blame me for the problem.
Tell them you're a reason subscriber.
I think I have an out should I ever be summoned. I don't hear all that well and it's especially important if the case is conducted in French. I'd miss critical info. I'm the last person you'd want to be watching a movie or show with. 'Pause it. What did they say? WHY IS EVERYONE TALKING SO LOW?!"
I've been called up precisely once. When the registrar heard over the phone that I'd done a year of Law School, she simply said "Thank you for your service" and hung up on me. I got the lifetime exemption letter in the mail a few days later.
How many of the commentariat are lawyers? Seriously, I didn't know you were one too! I swear, half of H&R is just a bunch of lawyers pretending to do work.
Just tell them that you understand what jury nullification is.
...you'll be outta there quicker'n shit through a crazy woman.

The European ExoMars Schiaparelli space probe has likely failed to land on Mars.
Did they mix up metric and Imperial units, too?
Does failed to land mean crashed or missed the entire planet?
If it was a French-German joint venture, probably both.
Isn't always generally a ESA venture? Sure, there are some lead countries for certain projects but it's under the ESA I thought.
I blame sexist shirts.
The lack of them?
I'm pretty certain it landed on Mars.

I'd vote for Travolta's death in the under appreciated Punisher movie.
There is no way that Punisher movie can be underappreciated. Steroid Christopher Lambert couldn't save it. Sweaty Rebecca Romain couldn't save it. John Travolta made it actively worse. It is worse than the Dolph Lundgren version.
Sweaty Rebecca Romijn couldn't save it? She must have been clothed.
WTF? Where was he in that movie?
Calling BS on that. It wasn't terrific, but it was a much better production than Dolph's.
I don't know the actual actor's name, but he had the same terrible acting as Christoper Lambert, only he was really bulked up. And somehow it never quite made it to camp. Hard as Travolta tried to chew the scenery.
Tom Mutha Fukkin' Jane!
/can't believe that's the only AD clips of him on YT.
Oh, Tom Jane. He was great in Boogie Nights, and I loved him in Homeless Dad.
"Oh". You'll show some enthusiasm, and like it, young man!
Tom Jane, who's cool enough to appear inPunisher short films for youtube.
Low expectations! And Travolta dies!
Steroid Christopher Lambert

Lettuce not be too hasty about this, Brett.
I admit it. I have the Johns.

I suspect this is more targeted at the Democrats and leftist independents who would otherwise stay home or be tempted to vote third party.

Meh. There is little that a President can legally do about that.

To be fair, if you do call the police for something like that you're a goddamned moron who should be punched in the face.
Outside of a Kitty Genovese situation, I can't figure out a situation where calling the police is a good idea.
That's why the neighbor earned a place among the people I hate.
Yeah, misread what you had said. Like I've said before, my kingdom for an edit button.
I also like (hate) how the headline implies the main problem is the "white man" telling his black neighbor to "Learn [his] manners", rather than the threat to call the police over an ostensibly minor noise issue.
Nice handle change.
WHEN WILL REASON REPORT ON MY HANDLE CHANGE?
It has been reported.
When a woman lets it grab her pussy.
Reported a 2nd time.
From the article:
I know; I was taking issue with the headline, specifically.

People who use hashtags in any medium other than twitter should be punched. A lot.

Ok, so now we both need punched in the face. I feel like a Presidential 2016 candidate now.

Litany Against Doubt
I must not doubt.
Doubt is the bond-breaker.
Doubt our poison
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
Where the doubt has gone there will be nothing.
And where it has gone I will let love remain.
Only we will remain.
Apparently, Tulpa is more prolific than Agent Smith...
Tulpa is Agent Smith. Mind blown. *puts down kratom
Brookshire, who has a Master's degree in public administration from Columbia University, delves into issues like that on The Reparations Podcast, which explores "the intersectionalities of blackness, politics and popular culture through humor and frank dialogue ? tackling the s**t you don't talk about with your white friends."
Sounds... delightful. /sarc
Why the fuck would black people listen to a podcast when they've been doing that shit at the barbershop for decades?
Because it has a veneer of sophistication that the barbershop doesn't have, I guess?
through humor
Somehow I doubt that.
The only thing I've ever seen that deals with the 'intersectionalities of blackness' in a funny way (outside of some comedians) is probably the Boondocks. And it does not have nice things to say about black culture sometimes.
Why do people write out their bad grammar and word usage?
It's also funny how fucking pale white the "black" guy is.
Yeah, that'll work. Send the wookie and the commie to convince conservatives to vote for Shrill. Sound strategy... /sarc
538 has Clinton at 55.6% chance of winning Arizona as of today (projects.fivethirtyeight.com/ 2016-election-forecast/arizona/), but keep whistling past the graveyard.

Where the hell is PETA on *this* crap?

Sixteen percent of Americans plan to dress their pets in Halloween costumes this year.
Why?
For the same reason a dog licks his balls.
I didn't get it before, but now i kinda do.
Oh, that elevator prank is just wrong.
Funny, though.
Funny, but also a good way to get your dog's teeth kicked out.

'We Care Deeply About Diversity': Zuckerberg Defends Facebook Board Member Peter Thiel's Ties to Trump
I'm actually quite shocked to read this from Zuckerberg
A bunch of folks on HN went full retard about it yesterday. To be fair, more were sane about it than I expected -- though I stopped wasted time reading the comments fairly early in, so I could have a skewed perception of the derp ratio.
Yes. If I wanted social retards to lord it over me as my better, I'd still read slashdot.
Good on him.
That's awesome.
" Gary Johnson denied elections were rigged or that he was high during his 'Aleppo moment.' "
So which is it? Either the elections are rigged, or that he was high during his Aleppotomy.
Aleppotomy
Brilliant. Simply magnificent.
He was high when he denied the elections were rigged. Then he started giggling. "Hey man, what's an Aleppo? Oh, that's what I feed my dog."
Colombia's "Brexit Moment" and the Childish Reaction against Democracy
Of note, apparently the terms of the deal really sucked.
But hey, the President of Colombia got a Nobel Price for all his efforts, so that must mean the voters are suffering from false consciousness or something.
Well, he got the Nobel Prize. Not so sure about the Nobel Price.
From the linked article::
FFS, hasn't that blatant lie been debunked about a half dozen times already?
Fuck the media.
What if Johnson pulls in 8% and then says afterwards that he *was* in fact high the whole time -- "I was high and still got 8% of American Voters, more than any prior libertarian!"
Not sure how much of a brag that is considering that he's also a "prior libertarian" candidate.
Johnson denied elections were rigged or that he was high during his "Aleppo moment."
"Or", eh? I see Gary's learning from the Clintons.
AP does some strange "In Case You've Never Heard of the IRS, Here's What It Is"-Piece
Included in that pile of "shit everyone should already know" was this =
Oh, you mean the evidence that took 2 nearly years to compel from the IRS, and which actually DID show some political connivance going on, but which no one was willingly to testify about? at the least Koskinen should have been fired for obstruction. But the AP wants to cleanse the public-memory of this stuff, and remind people that everything under Obama was better than ever before. Most Transparent *Ever*
Madonna: 'If You Vote for Hillary Clinton, I Will Give You a Blowj*b'
That offer is 25 or so years past its sell-by date.
Anyway, it's just locker-room talk.
zing
14 year old RBS will take her up on that offer.
I remember her Sex book came out when I was a freshman in high school. In a time when actual pornography was hard to come by for a 14 year old, it caused quite a sensation when one of the guys in my class brought a copy of it into school.
I remember booking a room at the Chelsea Hotel in NYC back in the early 90s with some friends. When we got in the room we were not impressed at the cleanliness or lack thereof. So we demanded another room. The new one was marginally better but passable. Each time we passed a room or he showed us one he kept telling us so and so wrote '2001 Space Odyssey' here and so and so did that there.
In the first room we turned down he was stunned we didn't want to stay. His selling point was 'But Madonna had her photo shoot here for Erotica!' My buddy replied, 'I don't give a shit. Look at the dust!' The guy's look on his face was priceless.
Sounds like Madonna is threatening to sexually assault voters.
So... Madonna's a Trump supporter. Who knew?
Stay classy.
Madonna mia questa donna.
This coming from a person who claimed to be all Kabbalistic.
That Kabbalism stuff was in vogue at the time. She's since moved on.
Yeh, I took it with a grain of salt. She doesn't strike me as someone with any profound beliefs; spiritually or intellectually.
It's all trends with celebrities.

I haven't been following the whole "Idiots Protesting Pipelines" thing in the media, assuming that its mostly about Hollywood celebrities burnishing their Activist-cred than anything...
but one aspect of it i find funny is that the Protestors are trespassing on Federal Land, and while the locals want to boot people off (aka "Follow the Law"?) the Feds themselves are saying, "no, don't do that - see... uh, Free Speech and shit"
Gee, I wonder if anyone else recently camped out on Federal property as part of some "protests" and was treated *slightly* differently?... Naw.... Government Agencies aren't *politicized*! That would never happen.
>>>Gary Johnson denied elections were rigged or that he was high
Too easy.
And some gems from the linked article:
"I don't think people are going to vote for him."
"When we bomb ourselves I think innocent people get killed and the threat to the United States rises as a result of that."
"I'm not having a moment."
"I'm just not relevant."
Hillary Clinton has sent Bernie Sanders and Michelle Obama to campaign in Arizona in an effort to flip the traditionally Republican state.
Part of me hopes that Bernie's immediate latching onto Clinton's campaign might disillusion some BernieBros about their magical incorruptible saviour, but somehow I think they'll do mental backflips to justify it.
Cripes, is AZ so fucked these days that they'd go for Hillary?
538 gives Clinton a 55.6% chance of winning Arizona as of today (projects.fivethirtyeight.com/ 2016-election-forecast/arizona/). If you review the projected vote share over time, it looks like it's in part a function of Clinton picking up Johnson voters.
She should've just sent John McCain.
I hope Trump goes nuclear tonight.
I might be high enough to watch.

Holy shit.
Remember when arms for hostages and stuff were considered kind of a big deal?
Stop living in the past, Paul. Only Republican presidents are capable of fraud, deceit, and obfuscation. We really need to move on to more important things and rise above petty distractions like this Assange fellow. It's not like he's in Gitmo or something.
Your completely unsurprising news of the day.

Huh, how very unFacebook of Mark Z. Bully to him:
And there are reasons to support Hillary which don't involve hoping for a share of the loot she's handing out, but I can't think what those reasons would be.
"There are many reasons a person might support Clinton that do not involve elitism, envy, cronyism, corruption, biology denialism, imperialism, or intimidating rape victims."
Gah, the smug condescension from these silicon valley goons. Zuckerburg only had to say one sentence: "We do not discriminate based on ideology."
I think you're being too hard on Zuckerberg. It's my understanding he was essentially directly responding to the collective Silicon Valley whine that Zuckerberg should exorcise all vestiges of Trump Support(tm) from his midst because "racism, sexism, xenophobia and accepting sexual assault". I think Zuckerberg is merely making a smart Big Company stance that if we wants his product used by a wide variety of the population, the last thing he wants to do is get his brand associated with one political team or the other.
I thought Zuckerberg was being pretty cool here.
I'm inherently skeptical of anything the Zuck says; he's one of the ringleaders of the SV prog hive. Even when he says something that could be interpreted as reasonable, I tend to believe that he meant the non-reasonable interpretation. Yes, I'm aware that i'm not being fair to him. Yes, I have an irrational dislike of FB.

Considering he is said to work with labor unions, you'd think he'd have seen their election "engineering", and have ample evidence of it, just like other investigators have found.
That's pretty weird, too.
Also classic!
