Brickbat: U-S-A! U-S-A!

In Michigan, the OK Conference, a high school athletics conference, has sent a letter to school administrators saying that fans at games can chant "U-S-A" only before or after the National Anthem. Conference officials say they believe that using the chant at other times may be a way of taunting opposing players or fans by implying "U suck ---."

FIRST! (I know it does not count) also, greetings from China.
China has an unfair advantage in firsting early morning posts. I propose a delay on their comments to ensure our commenters can compete for first posts. USA, USA!

OK. Not OK.
Is it OK if they are explicit?
"But once you start the game, because of the connotations of what people are looking at, whenever you are using it the second time, it can be used as derogatory, such as U Suck (bleep) and those type of things. That's what we have the problems with."
So, let me get this straight -- all this time, at Trump rallies, the chants of "USA!" are coming from Hillary trolls?
This year, it's trolls all the way down.
"Only before or after than anthem."
Isn't that the same thing as 'any time *except* during the anthem'?
That's three days detention for you, smart guy.
Can I kneel during detention?
only on the broken glass...
"Technically correct! Technically correct! Technically correct!"
"You suck ass" is what passes for a taunting chant now? How lazy and unimaginative, wheres the clever rhyming? The spelling and the insults of the other teams personal hygiene and their mothers' looks? I used to think all this 'kids these days' shit was just like every other generations 'kids these days' shit, but wow, kids these days! ya know?
What if they just chant O-K-C! O-K-C! ? You know, for "Oh, kiss (my) crack". The "you dumbasses" would just be implied.
"Conference officials say they believe that using the chant at other times may be a way of taunting opposing players or fans by implying "U suck ---."
So they are telling people what they can and cant say because...thought crimes? Seems legit.
I believe that the Conference officials actually do suck ass...just saying
I went to a sporting event back in college (don't know why). The audience taunted the goalie of the losing team (the game was far from over chronologically, but the final score was 7-2) they chanted "It's all your fault" until the guy actually ended up breaking down on the ice. No action was taken against the audience, no restrictions placed on future speech. I'm glad I managed to get through before the days of "safe spaces"
A pro-nationalist chant would not have even been noticed.
oh those slings and arrows...sticks and stones...guns & knives?
The only person who ended up bleeding at that game was one of the players who'd been checked into the wall. And it stopped before they even took him off the rink.
yeah, ok...but did he indeed suck ass?
Prolly a full centipede.
assuming he's actually human and not one of our lizard overlords...
Was this the U of Wisconsin? Back in the 70's and 80's when they were regularly winning championships, the pep band and fans there were notorious for taunting opposing goalies. I can still hear the slow chant "sieve..... sieve..... sieve" that Sports Illustrated likened to a medieval dirge. Good times.
I wish you all the best! I will tell my companions this is an extremely informative. Thanks a lot helpful post for students!!!

Oh spam-bot, you don't read the articles either.
Sad.
a way of taunting opposing players or fans by implying "U suck ---."
Taunting is the point. It's not my fault if they are pansies that may, in fact, "suck ass".
Really? How many Michiganders can even spell USA?
Wut?
You suck ass, OK Conference.
Come to think of is, everything in Bichagain sucks ass.
Sporting events in the 70s and 80s were better. You had real fans in the stands. Not these corporate and trendy jerk offs who offend easily. Fuck them.
Sports is not like going to the theater. It can get ugly, vulgar and mean. If you advocate (d) to clean that up, then you're not a sports fan. You're a 'mere-mere' as we say in Quebec; a mother's mother.
So ... Grandmas are not welcome at Canadiens games?
A supreme mother hen would have been more appropriate.
Why should we stop chanting? They're the ones that suck.
I remember a ref that used to call our high school basketball games who was a dead ringer for Leslie Nielsen, which led to "Drebin Sucks!" chants whenever he'd make a call against us.
Senior unnamed officials had no comment when asked about the proposed alternative chant, A-T-M! A-T-M!
