    Groovy music!

    1. EvaRoss   9 years ago

I'm making over $7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. This is what I do... http://goo.gl/vLekWl

  2. SIV   9 years ago

I'm trying to find what to unblock to watch these cool babes

    1. SIV   9 years ago

temporarily allow all this page in no-script did the trick

  3. The Fusionist   9 years ago

Uh-oh, Virginia Postrel is coming back. Hide the whisky bottles.

    1. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

      You went there.

      1. The Fusionist   9 years ago

We should probably wear our bathrobes while walking around.

  4. SIV   9 years ago

    CENTERFOLDS!

    1. The Fusionist   9 years ago

      Gillespie in the centerfold

      1. SIV   9 years ago

        You sick fuck.

  5. SIV   9 years ago

What does she mean it would be horrible to be around JB KM-W?

  6. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

Almost 30 mins in and still no mention of Harambe.

  7. SIV   9 years ago

Print-Reason is going to be the best women's magazine ever!

Now just get Rago to advertise.

  8. GILMORE?   9 years ago

    Elon Musk, libertarian hero?

    1. Brochettaward   9 years ago

      You didn't finish the question.

Elon Musk, libertarian hero, or greatest libertarian hero?

      1. GILMORE?   9 years ago

KMW cited him as an 'early libertarian hero (who may have gone bad)' but then she still considered him heroic (about something)

it was during the topic about optimistic-libertarianism vs. pessimistic-libertarianism, and how "early heroes" become rent-seekers

They seem to be renewing the "optimism vs. pessimism" topic right now.

    2. Bobarian (Would Chip Her)   9 years ago

electric automaker Tesla has a side business. It's called environmental credits

False, the side business is automaking.

Although side business may not be accurate, more like 'front'

  9. The Fusionist   9 years ago

The future will not only be more retarded than we imagine, but more retarded than we *can* imagine.

    1. SparktheRevolt   9 years ago

There's that fag talk we talked about

  10. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

Jesus! This is worse than C-SPAN 2's Book TV.

    1. The Fusionist   9 years ago

Not enough monster trucks to keep you entertained?

      1. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

I think you know what I'm here for.

        1. The Fusionist   9 years ago

That's the way to get back in Postrel's good graces!

  11. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

Who makes up the audience of, I count what 12, friends or family. Both?

    1. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

      Ugh.

Who makes up the audience of, I count what 12, friends or family? Both?

    2. Speaker   9 years ago

I just came back from being part of that audience. There were about 30 or 40 people in the room (Just not in front of the camera). There was no more room for people so maybe another 30 people watched it upstairs.

I'm neither friend nor family, just a fan of Reason and got an invite.

  12. SIV   9 years ago

No Katherine, most of the country doesn't tote around those socially-signalling salmonella-trap reusable bags

  13. Aloysious   9 years ago

I can't wait for them to start answering faceDerp questions.

  14. SIV   9 years ago

This is veering dangerously into "cosmo" territory.

  15. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

This is not the easiest live feed to fap to.

    Jus' sayin'

    1. The Fusionist   9 years ago

      Maybe Postrel isn't reading this.

      1. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

        WILL YOU TWO BEHAVE?

  16. SIV   9 years ago

H&R Old-timers may remember I lead a one-commenter campaign to promote KM-W to "Senior Editor". Back in the bad ol' days before Mike M. many of the commenters here were more "prog" than "cosmo" and they hated KM-W. She was regularly trashed on that gryllade board too. I'm happy to see she has risen to "Editor in Chief". I'm gonna have to buy a subscription.

    1. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

I, too, am glad she is EiC, in that she is now less wont to write terrible articles on education.

Though, that baton has been mostly passed to Soave, who is even more dunderheaded concerning the topic.

  17. GILMORE?   9 years ago

    OMG THE SECRET REVEALED!!!

    1. GILMORE?   9 years ago

ITS ALL TRUE! its all about the cocktails.

  18. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

    @43:00

    SHOTS FIRED!

  19. SIV   9 years ago

    COCKTAIL PARTIES!

  20. The Fusionist   9 years ago

    A-ha, the secret's out!

  21. SIV   9 years ago

The single greatest moment in reason-cocktail party history is when KM-W made Ann Althouse cry by asserting the moral rightness of freedom of association. We won't be seeing many GayJay puff-pieces in the new and improved print-zine.

  22. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

    Arsonists for Trump!

  23. SIV   9 years ago

GET ON THE #MAGA TRAIN, KM-W

  24. The Fusionist   9 years ago

I wonder who Postrel has in mind with the "burn it down" crowd?

    1. Brochettaward   9 years ago

      *sighs* Us...

      1. AlmightyJB   9 years ago

        We don't need no roof

  25. SIV   9 years ago

Robert Poole is a central planner, Virginia.

    1. Diane Reynolds (Paul.)   9 years ago

He's a public-private partnership type. Lot of hills he won't die on. And he never lets the half-decent be the enemy of the merely ok.

  26. GILMORE?   9 years ago

I'm a combination of those two types Postrel's "types" =

I'm an incrementalist who wants the world to be burned to the ground as step 1. Step 2 is = Sell lotion!

  27. The Fusionist   9 years ago

Reason libertarianism isn't a coherent body...yeah, that sounds fair

  28. The Fusionist   9 years ago

    Cocktail parties *and* drugs

  29. The Fusionist   9 years ago

Sex, drugs, and robots...so more of a Japanese focus?

  30. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

Mango is lit as fuck right now.

  31. GILMORE?   9 years ago

Drugs! the one thing all libertarians agree about.
    ....

    is that even true?
and its possible kids won't care about drugs in 20 years. they're getting more prudish already.

  32. SIV   9 years ago

Put Andrea Castillo in charge of the website. Put Nick out to pasture at WaPo or Salon

  33. GILMORE?   9 years ago

They'll never take questions from us. I will test this now =

"Q = KMW: Is the world better or worse off without Gawker - regardless of how they died?"

    1. GILMORE?   9 years ago

(prediction = no answer. double prediction = if answer, its "of course its worse, because the marketplace of ideas is better off with more participants")

      1. lap83   9 years ago

"The marketplace of ideas is better off with more participants"

That seems to be their philosophy when it comes to trolls and spambots

      2. foetus   9 years ago

I put a question on the facebook and they answered it (kinda).

It was the balko/2nd amendment question.

        1. GILMORE?   9 years ago

          SELLOUT

*the balko question was good. she sort of improvised by suggesting they're still carrying on his 'legacy', tho i'm not sure the "constant coverage of cop-stuff" equates to any real-traction-building with "Popular opposition to militarized policing"

e.g. trump's promising to increase it. hillary probably won't even talk about it. Gary neither.

  34. SIV   9 years ago

The 1990s! Back when Virginia was in charge.

  35. The Fusionist   9 years ago

    Here we go

  36. SIV   9 years ago

    I love Virginia!

    1. SIV   9 years ago

(I read the zine before Virginia's tenure but I subscribed during it)

Fake name, check "bill me later", used to be good for 7-8 months. Once your false identity was cut off just repeat and it would work at the exact same address.

  37. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

What's your position on the orphan trade?

  38. The Fusionist   9 years ago

    A Garrisonian nonresistant!

  39. SIV   9 years ago

THEY DON'T. GAYJAY ISN'T EVEN REMOTELY LIBERTARIAN. You had it right the first time Katherine, GayJay is a bastard. A drooling incoherent 'sperging bastard.

  40. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

A child whose parents are currently boycotting the magazine in all its forms over its editorial agenda concerning the election.

  41. GILMORE?   9 years ago

Stop lying = "Editor at large" means he spends all his time on TV

  42. SIV   9 years ago

New Career: "Republican strategist Matt Welch"

  43. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

    It's time to stop.

  44. The Fusionist   9 years ago

    Is Postrel gone?

    Great, bring on the tentacles.

    1. AlmightyJB   9 years ago

Bodies are too rubbery. Tentacle are ok if fried crunchy with a batter.

      1. straffinrun   9 years ago

        Try it's cousin fresh.

        1. AlmightyJB   9 years ago

          No thanks. Comnents are swell.

  45. AlmightyJB   9 years ago

This seems like a good place for this. Who hates these words? Taxes. Work. Death. Those words I can see.

Moist. Probe. Crevice: Why Do We Hate Certain Words?

    http://www.livescience.com/558.....words.html

    1. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

Don't ask me. I have misophonia; a lot of sounds simultaneously disgust and enrage me.

      1. The Fusionist   9 years ago

Did you say "disgust and intrigue me?"

      2. AlmightyJB   9 years ago

        I wake up enraged.

  46. SIV   9 years ago

I really enjoyed this. Thank you Virginia and best wishes to KM-W who will be the best editor ever!

    1. AlmightyJB   9 years ago

Glad I didn't watch, must have been excruciating.

  47. The Fusionist   9 years ago

So do you prefer Virginia Postrel's more intellectual or KMW's more intuitive approach?

    1. The Fusionist   9 years ago

      intuitive

  48. GILMORE?   9 years ago

    This is something

I'm starting to think 1981 was cooler than i experienced it.

    1. The Fusionist   9 years ago

"Hey, guys, do you have any drugs left over from last night's party, we want to get into the mood to direct a music video!"

      1. Heroic Mulatto   9 years ago

That guy could have made the first Dune movie.

        1. GILMORE?   9 years ago

Oh, i'm so disappointed. I'd hoped the music and film were linked.

    2. SIV   9 years ago

That's how I remember it. Only the women were younger and better built. I was 18-19 in 1981. It was a very, very good year. The music rocked.
