High School Reproductive Health Class Will Use Gender-Inclusive Language, for 'Safety'
So much safety you'll want to scream.

Count the number of the times the word "safe," is used in this article about adding gender-inclusive language to Pinckney Community Schools' reproductive health class. Here, I'll help you.
"I want all children to feel safe (one) in school," [Sex education instructor Sue] Dyer said during a school board meeting. "The new vocabulary terms will be introduced during those classes, … The list of terminology was taken from the Michigan Department of Education and comes as a result of all the new transgender information out there."
"It is also important to have a very open forum that is open for everyone to talk about," Dyer said. "I want to make sure students are informed, parents are informed and, above all, that everyone is safe (two)."
More:
Dyer said the main goal is to create a safe (three) environment for students, and she added that it "feels like education is the best way to get people to learn the way to communicate and keep people safe (four)."
Superintendent Rick Todd said he agreed with the changes presented during Thursday's meeting, adding that the district wants to create a safe (five) environment where all children can learn.
Okay, glad to know Pinckney is taking safety seriously. Super duper seriously.
If we are going to have public schools, and they are going to have reproductive health classes, I suppose the instructors ought to use gender-inclusive language (the news story offers zero details on what that means in practice). But let's not pretend that safety is in any way related to proper pronoun usage.
When the instructor and the superintendent say safety, I suspect what they really mean is comfort. But comfort and safety are not at all the same thing, and consistently conflating them has its perils. Students do indeed have a right to feel safe. They don't necessarily have a right to feel comfortable. Sometimes learning isn't.

Ze was asking for it
Every time Robby gives progs the benefit of the doubt, I feel unsafe.
The concept of safety has been thoroughly co-opted by a certain group whom we shan't name here. The idea of safety for our precious children is unimpeachable and therefore when invoked in the pursuit of a plan simply cannot be opposed by anyone but neanderthals.
simply cannot be opposed by anyone but neanderthals
*throws bone at Fist*
Have you ever seen a neanderthal in a helmet? Unsafe.
All right listen up you little shits. Today we're going to talk about sex. Yeah, SEX. You know, that thing your mommy and daddy did to make your sorry little asses. So listen good, because unless you want to be dealing with a miniature version of your acne-ridden, whiny, pathetic selves, you need some details.
I see your sex-ed class was also taught by one of the football coaches.
Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.
Everything I needed to know in one tidy little package.
"But, coach, I was conceived in a laboratory."
"Then you get to read my supplemental material" (hands kid a copy of *Frankenstein*)
When my son gets older, I'm going to teach him to demand that the teachers at school refer to him as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and then wail about how unsafe he feels when they refuse to call him that title. Dammit, it's how he identifies!!!!
Ms. Chipwooder at a stoplight...
I'd be careful about that. Out of all the Buddhists, the Tibetans are the ones with a sutra that mandates they train for future prophecized holy war:
Only 4 divisions? Against China?
Against Islam, actually.
But one of those divisions are all war-elephants.
Sweet.
The term four-division army is also connected to what we now call chess. Bascially, the ancient warfare version of combined arms: infantry, chariots, cavalrymen, and elephants.
So elephants evolved into bishops?
Elephants evolved into castles. Duh.
I would have thought that Zen would be the one you have to watch out for the most - you know, samurai and the IJA and all that.
Unfortunately they are about 200 years too late.
Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side.
Ow.
All about bathrooms and who pees where, you say? Not so fast, my friend.
If we are going to have public schools, and they are going to have reproductive health classes, I suppose the instructors ought to use gender-inclusive language.
Why does the first presuppose the second (i)? And why the fuck do you suppose the last (b)?
"I want all children to feel safe (one) in school," [Sex education instructor Sue] Dyer said during a school board meeting.
"Then change your name. Both 'Sue' and 'Die' make me and my child feel unsafe."
Serious question: Why can't "reproductive health" be taught by giving every student a small pamphlet?
"Here you go, kid. Read it and weep."
Because people have really serious opinions about it. And everybody wants their opinions to be treated as gospel.
What, like Club?
Oui.
Print porn.....our generation was so deprived.
I don't know. We had to work for our porn. Made a man appreciate it more. Not like these kids these days with hot and cold running porn on tap. Nothing's good enough always looking for some thing MORE. And now they're into incest in a big way if clip titles are anything to go by.
"If we are going to have public schools, and they are going to have reproductive health classes"
Stories like this make the case for challenging these premises...
I do not understand why this is an issue. "The mommy and daddy love each other, and then ask a stork to deliver them a child, and then the stork brings them a child." It is pretty simple.
Um, maybe it's just me, but it seems that using "gender inclusive language" in a class about reproductive health is likely to lead to some confused students. I know that it's not PC to point it out, but genders are kind of important to the whole reproduction thing.
What person on Earth first learns about how sex works in Health class?
Ken?
Like most boys my age, I learned everything I needed to know from the Bloodhound Gang.
Shit. The only thing I learned from the Bloodhound Gang was how to use the back of a van as a camera obscura.
I learned that Chasey Lain has had a lotta dick, but she ain't had mine.
any relation to Penny Lane?
You should discuss this more at your Self-Criticism Session.
My first thought exactly.
It might be less confusing if the SJW crowd had not apparently decided in the past year or so that "gender" and "sex" were synonyms after all
Get used to it.
The work "safety" is now being used to include "psychological" safety.
The better to conflate mean words with physical violence.
So as to punish mean words with physical violence.
What i continue to think is absurd is the idea that everyone in america needs to both be "re-educated" and also have a range of new laws-rules applied to their speech and behavior....
....in order to properly cater to the ENTIRELY IMAGINED PSYCHOLOGICAL SENSITIVITY OF A POPULATION REPRESENTING A FRACTION OF 1%
Rather than have some bureaucratic administrator insist that these standards of "safety" are the product of TOP MENBEINGS up the bureaucratic food chain, i'd be far more interested in every school creating a Trans-Club- for prospective transpeople to join and voice *their own* desires/concerns.
IOW, i'm sick of fucking bureaucrats beating everyone over the head with their moral authority which they've basically just Stolen from a population of people who still have zero fucking voice in their "sanitized and Safe-made" world.

Yeah, that's my whole problem with polite society's newfound fixation on transgenderism as well. Really, everyone is getting worked up over this? What's left in the left's culture crusade? Special carve outs for furries?
Behold the progressive Left's tolerance for furries!
Its hard for me to imagine what they will move onto next. It really is.
Any thoughts?
Wealth, Race, Gender, Imagination, Weight, what's left? Height?
Tall people need to check their privilege, they can't understand the plight of those who have to resort to stepping stools to reach the top shelf of the pantry. You probably just want short people to starve.
Hey, let's have a little tolerance for those of us who suffer from chronic tallness. Finding clothes that fit? Not always easy when you're a ridiculously long-limbed six-two. Ditto fitting into cars. Even stairs aren't very conveniently sized for us. A little short for one step, a little tall for two...
And just for the record, I was twelve or so when I totally embraced my basic role in life as "the guy who gets things off the top shelf".
We're at a point now where allegedly sentient human beings earnestly discuss the "reproductive rights" of transwomen, and ensuring that they have the same access to abortion as actual women to end the nonexistent pregnancies that they are unable to have in the first place.
Where you gonna abort the fetus? You haven't got a womb!
I think ze's planning on keeping it in a box in the corner.
I'm still unclear on how using gendered pronouns puts children at risk of harm.
Nowhere does it list what these "new vocabulary terms" will be.
Reporting fail.
Everyone wondering about the new terminology is a cisheteroshitlord and should immediately present themselves for execution.
Well, what does that mean to *you*?
Because I'm not seeing any reason to be 'gender inclusive' in a class teaching the basics of reproduction. I mean, I accept that gender and sex are not the same thing (and that for the vast, vast majority of us they are interchangeable), but a reproductive health class is about *sex* - the mechanics of reproduction - not gender.
So, Brenda thinking she's a Brandon - no matter how firmly she believes this to be true - will not stop a pregnancy and STD's are the same for the cis- and the . . . not cis-shitlords.
But, I'm a whole 20 years older than you - so nu, tell me, what would 'gender inclusive language' bring to the table here?
cis- is the retronymative opposite of trans-
transhitlords
Thank you.
In Mr incredible's words, "if everyone is special then no one is special". The progressive expansion of protected classes actually harms (delegitimatizes) the people its supposed to help. To put it another way, If a dude making unwanted verbal advances is essentially rape, then rape is really only a stranger whistling at you (if people still do that). I really, really, really don't understand how so many people don't see that.
But that's the point, isn't it? In socialism (and the end game of all this prog nonsense is undeniably socialism), no one is special. There is no success and failure, no winners or losers, no individuals. The left has been increasingly trying to psychologically prepare society for this reality for decades.
By the same token, all these people (I don't mean 100%, just a lot) want to be Oscar Wilde, but what he did was cool BECAUSE it was so socially unacceptable. When everyone's doing it its just a fad.
What's the practical result of "gender inclusive" language in reproductive health? No indication of which are the girl parts, & which the boy parts?
Beyond changing it to 'male' and 'female' parts? I can't possibly imagine what difference it would make. And the transgender understand what you're talking about when you say 'girl parts' and 'boy parts', so . . .
When a person loves another person, xe puts xis xix in xis xix.
"Why are you so confused, children? I don't know how I could make this stuff any clearer."
When everybody's safe, is nobody safe?
