Hillary Clinton's Speech, Foretold
Here's what the Democratic nominee will say, and how it will be received.

It's just a coupla/three hours from the finale ultimo of the 2016 Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Philadelphia and we're all just a few forgettable speeches (Nancy Pelosi just said "this was the most important election" in our lifetimes) and (likely) cringe-inducing performances (remember Paul Simon croaking "Bridge Over Troubled Water"?) away from getting on with our lives and the general election.
As it stands, I've enjoyed the DNC vibe more than the one at last week's Republican National Convention in Cleveland. The music is better for the most part than what was played at the RNC, and there are more types of people walking around. I mean that literally and figuratively: The Dems are not as square and certainly not as white as the Republicans are. The LGBTQ community is more visible than in Cleveland and the Bernie Sanders' contingent also added diversity not so through much how they looked but how they acted. Make no mistake: This isn't Burning Man, but it's a bit looser than what the RNC offered up.
As things wind down, though, what strikes me more than the differences are the similarities between the RNC and DNC. The disunity of the GOP was occluded a bit because so many of the party's establishment and Tea Party wings didn't bother showing up. Ted Cruz's pointed refusal to endorse The Donald from the stage caused a scene, but that's more or less in line with the boos and the shout-downs and the actual protests in Philadelphia. The Sanders people are pissed, and not simply because their guy lost. As the DNC hack released by Wikileaks proved beyond all doubts, even the supposedly neutral DNC was actively working to screw Sanders. That mistreatment, according to many of the Bernie folks I talked with, was compounded by other real and imagined slights when it came to speaking slots, procedural votes, and the like.
Ultimately, both conventions revealed political parties working their asses off to keep it together. They each managed to nominate the least-popular candidates of all time, in the same election (according to RealClearPolitics, Trump and Clinton each have around 56 percent disapproval ratings). That itself tells you something isn't working right, that if the wheels aren't quite coming off fully yet, they're only a few lug nuts away from a huge crash.
As Hillary Clinton takes the stage, I'm willing to go out on a ledge and predict both the main points of her speech and the way it will be received by various audiences. In terms of what she discusses, she will talk about how:
- America is already great, so shut up Donald Trump.
- Having said that, we've got a lot of work to do, because in fact the world is on fire, literally (in terms of geopolitics) and figuratively (in terms of global warming/climate change).
- We need to spend more money on everything, consistent with her spending plan that will increase spending from a historically high 22 percent of GDP to 22.7 percent over the next 10 years.
- We need to redefine "barely making it" households upwards to include folks making $125,000, who would qualify for free in-state tuition at public colleges.
- We need to end pay differentials between men and women, whether or not such a gap exists when controlling for occupations, education, and experience.
- We need to pull together because we are stronger together and we need to fight the side that seeks to separate us from one another.
- There is no reason to ever talk about how to pay for all the spending we currently can't afford, much less the new stuff she's proposing.
- She is responsible for all sorts of diplomatic deals that ended wars and cooled hot spots but somehow the world is still at war and we need to engage the world rather than retreat from it.
- She is tougher than nails and, without directly attacking Donald Trump, she spits guys like him out for breakfast.
- Her election will be historic in all sorts of ways, especially for her and her parents, who both dreamed this and were afraid to dream it.
There will be two basic responses to her speech:
- From liberals, progressives, and Democrats, it will be hailed as an incredibly well-crafted and powerful summation not just of her current run for president but for entire career in service to helping all Americans, but especially the weakest and poorest among us.
- From conservatives, Republicans, and Trumpistas, it will be hailed as dull, boring, overlong, and filled with lies and omissions that underscore why she is unfit for anything other than a prison cell.
For the vast rest of us—libertarians, independents, the indifferent—the speech will be a mixed bag. Yes, it will go on too long but it will also include some well-turned phrases and a whole lot of hokum.
And then, starting tomorrow, or maybe next Monday, we'll get to figuring out how to actually bring our politics into rough congruence with a 21st-century America in which we have more good choices and real options than ever before, except when it comes to politics.

With the "moment of reckoning" talk mentioned earlier, I wonder how many pundits will be labeling her speech as dark and dystopian.

Editor? And where is Gillespie without his appeal to novelty and whiggish/Marxist inevitability of history bull?
except when it comes to politics.
So what about the Libertarian Moment you're always going on about? Will Hillary be a secret libertarian? Will Johnson sweep into office and engage in his spending cuts and eliminate three departments?
Gillespie will be singing about the libertarian moment all the way through the train ride to the gulags. If the last year hasn't convinced him this belief in a silent plurality of libertarian-leaning Americans is a delusion, nothing ever could. Actually, I wonder if Michael Hihn is actually his sock puppet?
As it stands, I've enjoyed the DNC vibe more than the one at last week's Republican National Convention in Cleveland. What a shock.
Yeah, I'm sure those GOP guys are a blast.
Republicans have their own drug-fueled orgies too...
Ted Haggard, Hastert, Foley, Craig...
That makes one pathetic drug-fueled orgy.
White people are so boring.
...which is why Reason is so racially diverse.
Dear God, not white people!
Has Gillespe always played the identity politics game, or is this recent?
The RNC is old white people.
The DNC is old white people who think they're poor black children.
Hence, "diversity".
Are there any pictures of HRC from the last decade or so where she doesn't look like she's about to eat the soul of a young child?
Yes, but unfortunately they're taken *while* she's consuming souls.
A battle of the soul takers: Robby Lawler vs. Hillary Rodham Clinton. That would make a pay-per-view event worth watching.
Not predicting she'll talk about all this terrible violence and how she's coming for those evil "assault weapons?" Think she's going to play it safe and try not to piss off gun owners?
She can't help herself. She'll ask responsible gun owners to join her in implementing common-sense safety.
"Gee, Rich -- you *exactly* nailed it."
*** polishes fingernails on shirt ***
Too late. At this point the NRA and Trump have a year's worth of her anti gun stuff to use in the swing state ads.
For the vast rest of us?libertarians, independents, the indifferent?the speech will be a mixed bag. Yes, it will go on too long but it will also include some well-turned phrases and a whole lot of hokum.
So the natural order of things is to find Democrat speeches a mixed bag. Where's that Huffpo position so you can tell us what you truly feel...

This isn't Burning Man
*shudders*
Thank goodness.
Does Burning Man have more hokum, baloney, and malarkey?
Won't stand for it.
No - but it's got more white people!
No baloney at Burning Man. Only faloney and tofurkey.
Well Hillary is that one thing that can unite Libertarians and Communists...
Hillary is bringing back bipartisanship. Republicans and Democrats both think she should be locked up.
Um I mean that the CPUSA will be endorsing her and many libertarians will and are endorsing her.
Republicans and Democrats both think she should be locked up.
All five of them?
Where's you're fucking trigger warning, that fucking picture. I'll never be the same, you have caused trauma, I have PTSD.
For the vast rest of us?libertarians, independents, the indifferent?the speech will be a mixed bag. Yes, it will go on too long but it will also include some well-turned phrases and a whole lot of hokum.
I predict it will be more coherent than a Gary Johnson speech.
I predict your shtick will become even more tedious.
So it's SIV making the libertarian case for Hillary, not the H&R writers.
What is remarkable is that anyone with half a brain understands that this is code-language for "Let's raise taxes", yet people still fucking cheer it as though it has some symbolic value nevertheless.
Are you sure about that? I thought it was code for 'Silence anyone who disagrees with me, at gunpoint.'
I read it as 'you will conform or suffer the consequences.' How the DNC is such a 'mixed bag' to a libertarian is beyond me. The overarching theme seems to be unity before freedom. There are a lot of people I'd rather not be united with, and given Dems' lack of respect for freedom of association, I find such all this talk about unity more disturbing than inspiring.
Does half stupid and half evil count as a mixed bag?
For the vast rest of us?libertarians, independents, the indifferent?the speech will be a mixed bag.
Given what you wrote, the points that she shall hit, I'm having trouble finding the mixed in that bag.
There's always a chance she has a stroke on live TV.
I would watch that.
Nick still thinks he has a chance with her. Best not to burn that bridge.
"that if the wheels aren't quite coming off fully yet, they're only a few lug nuts away from a huge crash."
Um, they're called wing nuts and only exist on the right. Sheesh.
So what Democrat would you describe as being socially liberal? Do they support hate speech laws, public accommodation laws, anti-sugar, anti-fat, anti-drunk driving, anti-smoking, anti-gun and are pro-public school, pro-socialized medicine?
Definition of "socially liberal" in the 1990s: supports abortion.
Definition of "socially liberal" circa 2010: supports abortion and gay marriage, and wants to ruin the life of anybody who refuses to bake a gay wedding cake.
Definition of "socially liberal" now: supports abortion and gay marriage, and believes that a person's gender is completely unrelated to chromosomes or anatomy, and depends entirely on how the person feels. Even if that person claims to be "neither male nor female" and demands other people learn stupid new pronouns like "ze."
Almost like "fiscally conservative and socially liberal" is an reactionary appeal to a non-existent past, oh wait it is!
Well it is already well established that principles like freedom of speech, equality before the law, and due process are racist, rape apologist, retrograde and fascist.
I'M WITH HER
You are at Winston's place right now?
So have the Dems talked at all about debt and entitlement reform? I mean Welch and Suderman told me it was the one thing we can hope for from Obama and the Clintons...
What I'm hoping to hear is a five-minute coughing fit.
Of course, she'll be drugged up to prevent this during the most important speech evah.
I dare any of her to watch more than sixty seconds of that without earplugs.
er, any of *youse*
Of a coughing fit?
That would be sweet music of the gods.
No, just her speaking in general.

Thank god I'm in my late 50s. The stench of the coming American dystopia is getting stronger everyday. I weep for my children. Born in 1958, I've been lucky as hell -- one of the luckiest generations in one of the best countries on earth. It's been a good run.
Pok?mon Go and HBO will save us from that dystopia...
I've always found it amusing that people seem to define the Golden Age after which we were tossed out of the garden whose gates are now guarded by cherubim with flaming swords, never to return, as whenever their first decade of life was.
It's not like Reason's big stick is an appeal to a non-existent 1960s-1970s past. Oh wait.
That said equally annoying is the whole "modern tech will lead to a Golden Age" stuff. Just as the 1920s had people proclaiming the evils of Jazz, smoking (um...) and booze there were also people proclaiming how science and technology would lead to utopia and all social conflicts and wars would end and prosperity would be here to stay...
I don't see where you're getting that from.
I agree. I hated Francis Fukuyama before it was cool.
I don't see where you're getting that from.
"Fiscally conservative and social liberal". Appeal to 1960s-1970s past where the Republicans were supposedly fiscally responsible and the Democrats were supposedly social liberals.
I hated Francis Fukuyama before it was cool.
Funny that libertarians like to trash him yet the "libertarian moment" stuff is little different.
Also it reminds me of Star Trek: The Next Generation: Some atheist free-love future were everyone agrees on everything (and no this is not an exaggeration) yet everyone does what they want. How does such a society be incredibly conformist and yet incredibly individualistic at the same time? SCIENCE! I guess.
I still don't see where Reason specifically cites this as the framework from which they argue that's what the term means. Are you thinking of a specific Op-Ed or something?
-1 Maquis, of course.
-1 Maquis, of course.
Roddenberry has a sad.
Of course later TNG moved away from that since they realized it was hard to write good drama when your characters were supposed to be perfect and never have conflicts ever. The Hays Code wasn't that constricted!
Also makes me wonder how the new Trek series will work. Trek utopianism is about as opposite from the Sopranos/Mad Men/Breaking Bad/Game of Thrones style as can be. Will it be a refreshing breath of fresh air (and wish fulfillment for progs) or laughably outdated?
It's J.J. Abrams. I expect mortifying amounts of "grrl power"... in space!
And lens flares.
If the recent movies are anything to by, I'm guessing "unwatchable garbage".
The Hays Code was also largely ignored.
Joe Breen, on the other hand....
I still don't see where Reason specifically cites this as the framework from which they argue that's what the term means.
The basic argument is that Republicans are fiscally conservative and Democrats and Socially liberal. This line of argument began in the 1960s. The Nolan chart, created in 1969, is based on it and Ed Clark's "low tax liberalism" campaign was in 1980.
I get that.
I'll take your word for it.
The X-axis is kind of what you're describing, but it's not fair to claim the Nolan chart is solely based on that when there's a whole other dimension to the chart beyond "left-wing/right-wing", which is the entire purpose of the chart.
Anyway, this seems to be getting away from the original claim, which was Reason's, or libertarianism proper, appeals to an imagined 60s-70s.
Gillespie and Welch use the term "fiscal conservative and socially liberal" or variations of it all the time. It is clearly an appeal to an idealized 1960s and 1970s past where the Republicans wanted to cut spending and the Democrats wanted social freedom and the idea was to convince people that libertarianism was a combination of both since those two are what people supposedly wanted and ditch the bad stuff. This of course ignores the reality of that time period: Nixon isn't what libertarians would call "fiscally conservative" and "social liberals" supported gun control and included the likes of Jerry Brown, Bernie Sanders and current supporters of hate speech laws, anti-smoking laws, anti-fat food laws, and crushing of climate change "deniers".
when there's a whole other dimension to the chart beyond "left-wing/right-wing", which is the entire purpose of the chart.
Um the whole purpose of the chart was to suggest that politics isn't right/left but personal choices and government control and that libertarianism is all personal choices and little government control; i.e. "fiscally conservative and socially liberal".
Fuck that, the 1970s were total shit. and i have the photo-album to prove it. my earliest memories include very pungent smell of urine in nyc streets.
I think the 1990s - when i was in HS and college - were actually the "best years in America" i can remember.
and i think there's a legit, statistical-socio-economic argument for that, as well as a more 'psychological', zeitgeist-based argument. and the two aren't always chicken-egg related. the end of communism was a big-rush, the sudden collapse of crime was a nice-plus, and then the IT boom in the mid-late 1990s gave everyone the feeling that 'everything was generally improving across the board'.
there was also none of the solipsism of the contemporary world; no one had the internet, and no one had cell phones (not until the later part), and people were comfortable saying what they thought without worrying about someone tweeting it to the rest of the planet or causing a case of emotional PTSD because trigger warning.
and much much more. i just think it was better in a lot of subtle ways the current world sucks donkey balls. that latter point about 'solipsism' being one of the biggest. also - we had so recently come out of periods where things were "genuinely bad" that people really didn't sweat occasional instances of 'fucked up stuff'. people were more grounded.
Yeah, it really sucked back when it was affordable to live in Manhattan.
'Affordability" being Realtor-talk for "crime-infested shithole, of course.
Well, it wasn't a "heroin desert".
There's a lot to be said for "location".
if you mean the 1970s, yeah, kind of. I don't really buy the punk-rock glamorization of crime & grime. all the older guys i know who lived through that all agreed that the nostalgic memories were better than the reality.
the rent on my first place in manhattan was $600, on the upper east. things stayed relatively cheap until the early2000s when the migration to the outer boroughs began to go into overdrive (followed by developers and lots of $).
Born in 1960 here, and sometimes I feel just like what Libertarian wrote.
Ours was the last generation where most of the moms were homemakers, like they had been for generations.
Our generation was the last one where you were told by your parents on a Saturday morning to be home by dark or by the dinner bell -- and then you were on your own for the day, to go where you pleased and play with who you chose, even though you were six years old, and no one worried in the slightest about you, and of course you were fine.
You were essentially self-reliant even though you still had baby teeth. Today they feel you really aren't grown up until you're 26.
We got to do a lot of things that you couldn't get away with today because of all the surveillance and cameras everywhere.
Our drinking age was 18, and nobody thought it strange for high-school parties to have alcohol. In fact, parents often provided it.
We got to see a world that changed from manual typewriters to computers; from rotary phones to smart phones; from 45-rpm single-song records to streaming music. We got to watch the first person walk on the moon. But when we were kids, milk still got delivered to your house, and it there were still some horses used on regular streets for commercial reasons.
And yes, we did get to see the fall of the Berlin Wall and Communism, which had been in force since well before we were born (only to see a new group of kids who never knew of the Iron Curtain embracing socialism).
I don't disagree with Gilmore that the 90s were a pretty damn good decade, except the music was better in the late 70's and early 80s (and of course in the late 60s/early 70's, too. Mid-70s really sucked.)
I'll bet Libertarian thought the 90s were pretty good too. He (or she) and I would have been in our 30s then, still fairly young, but making money, and enjoying a pretty carefree decade, all things considered.
I liked the 80s and early 90s much more than this decade. Not just because I was younger. Things seemed a lot less fucked up.
I grew up in the 80s and I think that was the best time. My parents were lower-middle class folks who were struggling to get by in the 70s but it seemed they and our neighbors started doing better (some well enough to move out of our neighborhoood). Movies and TV shows had a more aspirational tone and we still had a lot of the small town values (no cell phones, home when the street light came on, ate at the dinner table, etc) that was emblematic of previous times. We had a leader who was culturally perfect for the time, and life was simpler.
I've always found it amusing that people seem to define the Golden Age after which we were tossed out of the garden whose gates are now guarded by cherubim with flaming swords, never to return, as whenever their first decade of life was.
Coins were made out of precious metal when I was born.

Better argument for going to autonomous drones I have not seen.
Excellent prognostication, Nick, of her main talking points. However, it needs more LGBTQ. Much more LGBTQ.
Bet you can't say "LGBTQ" three times fast without laughing.
BYOLGBTBBQ
Damn, that sounds like a good time.
I always think of it as LGBTQWERTY.
So...um...the 'Q' part is new to me. Does it mean 'quixotic'?
Are you questioning?
Does it mean 'questioning'?
That's the joke.
I thought it was 'queermo?'
"Everyone's queer but me and thee, and even thee's a *bit* queer."
Am I the only one who finds the whole idea of lumping LGBTQ together into one group strange anyway? They are different things, right? It's essentially saying, "Well you've got all your normal people, then you've got all these other fags over here."
I'm not. But if I were gay, I imagine I'd be pretty upset that I'm being lumped into the same category as men who wish they didn't have dicks. Aren't gay guys all about the dicks?
And dancing. And the Bravo network. And rugby. And for some reason disco divas.
As a G, I am completely indifferent to the other letters. You're right that we are lumped together due to "otherness".
Shared foes, maybe?

That is so far outside my wheelhouse I'm not sure if the intended result is to make me LMFAO or not.

LOL I do have an Irish first name.
Legit question... what is the difference between either lesbian/gay and queer? I've always been under the impression that queer was a derogatory form of gay, which (gay that is) was a sometimes acceptable sometimes not way of saying homosexual and could refer to any gender if used in a generic sense and that lesbian was self explanatory (but to me a bit sexist in that it sought to define someone by their gender... wouldn't lesbian be akin to the word him/her instead of ze?)
And if we are all the same and equal... why not just GSBT (gay/straight/bi/trans)? That seems to be the more accurate AND inclusive form. Aren't we supposed to be all about inclusivity?
I really don't mean to come off like a jerk. Its just not a circle I have much exposure to and thus it doesn't seem to make much sense when I try to place the idea of LGBTQ into the broader, more uniform and consistent world view I hold of "you and I are people.... the end."
'Queer' is loaded with political connotations. Basically, an angry gay or lesbian. I'm with you about "inclusivity" - the "community" bores me anymore.
Based on my extensive research watching a couple of Youtube videos, queer is no longer considered defamatory as I saw a number of young gay kids referring to themselves as queer. But maybe it's just a "we're taking it back" moment. I dunno.
Yes, that is exactly how it started but it has since morphed into a political statement.
I'm dismayed and indignant that "LGBTQ" doesn't include guys who like fat chicks yet. We're so behind as a society.
That's LGBTQP, where the P is pig.
20 more fringe groups to go and we can just use the whole alphabet!
I hope she says something stupid about 'We must utterly destroy ISIS' and the crowd erupts in a chant of "No more war!" for the entire rest of her speech.
Sadly, not a chance. The Democrats can't go back to pretending to oppose wars until a Republican is president.
Or, during a variant of "women's rights are human rights", chants of "JUANITA! JUANITA!"
I've been chuckling about this...

Hillary's spectacular entrance
California delegates vandalize "Hillary " sign, make it read "liar." Well done!
So does anyone care that Rob Ford 22-year old nephew (who's daddy is serving time) won his city council seat? Well at least Canadian federal politics and US politics don't depend on family names...oh shit.
It is a tad striking that nobody's using the "dynasty" card against her.
Family dynasties worked well in Rome, Argentina and Greece...
So for all of the proclamations about the libertarian moment are Johnson/Weld and Reason ready for the shit storm that would happen if they did try to get rid of the Department of Education, Commerce, HUD the NSA and the IRS?
I think the elimination of (at least some of) those things would go over much better with the general public if somebody for once just made clear that all they were saying is to eliminate those things on the federal level. Some states certainly would introduce their own equivalents. But since nobody ever seems to mention this, people look at it as "Oh, you think education doesn't matter. Therefore you're insane."
And critics always say "Chaos will ensue!" but that is more akin to saying it will hurt when I remove a band aid. Yes... yes it will. Then, it won't.
Or another analogy to their criticism would be me telling a doctor I don't want him to remove my appendix because he will cut a hole in me. Well... yes. And it will damage my body in some regard. Without medication it would also hurt like hell. But then... I'm all better despite the damage and potential pain required to do the operation.
So was the anti-Vietnam war movement just an anti-draft movement? The campus radicals today are more concerned about safe-spaces, trannies, white privilege, hate speech and the like and very little on Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq etc. I imagine things would be different if they were being drafted. And will drafting blacks and women be a top priority or not?
A bit before my time, but from what I've read, a lot of the original Vietnam protesters were older people who remembered WWII and Korea, and didn't want their kids being shipped off to war. The college protests didn't really pick up until the draft started picking up more people. The reason for thinking that the war protestors were a bunch of college kids was because the college protests were a bit unprecedented, but a march in Washington isn't usually all that notable.
You've hit upon an important point. All of this is happening because the modern world doesn't offer the struggle human beings evolved to need in their lives.
Rrrrruf! Rrrrrruf-ruf!
From conservatives, Republicans, and Trumpistas, it will be hailed as dull, boring, overlong, and filled with lies and omissions that underscore why she is unfit for anything other than a prison cell.
Hey, that counts as a mixed bag.
When I first read it I thought "mixed bag" was referring to Hilldog Herself.
You racist. She's not mixed.
Has she always had a wonky eye or has she suffered a recent stroke? That picture looks like a friend of mine's pet chameleon.
TBF, most chameleons look like that.
He likes to dress his in red pantsuits. Weird guy.
Boy George/Chris Deburgh mashup. Might work.

And it's kind of like the death penalty. Do I favor the death penalty. Theoretically I do, but when you realize that there's a 4 percent error rate, you end up putting guilty people to death. I think this is analogous to hate crime. Convict me on the act of throwing a rock through somebody's window. But if you're going to convict me on my motivation for doing that, now you're back to religious freedom. I mean under the guise of religious freedom, anybody can do anything. Back to Mormonism. Why shouldn't somebody be able to shoot somebody else because their freedom of religion says that God has spoken to them and that they can shoot somebody dead.
His answers were a mixed bag of mediocre, confused, and terrible.
I thought you were quoting some retard's internet-comment.
That's actually something Gay Jay *said*?
i smoked pot my whole life, but it sounds like GJ actually let it rot his brain or something. that just sounds like incoherent mush. As though he's never actually thought seriously about the issue.... but still allows himself latitude to ramble whenever people ask questions.
Its "poor judgement" more than anything. Unless you've got a good answer prepared, Gary? Shut the fuck up and pass on it. Your spontaneous musings sound like shit.
Boy, you sure are mad he said you religious psychopaths can't shoot people.
I don't think you actually understood what i was saying.
I was reacting to the jump from (death-penalty to 'hate-crime') non-sequitur into ('the first amendment might excuse murder') reductio absurdum he seemed to make.
I'm not mad at the guy. my last statement there ("Unless you've got a good answer....Shut the fuck up and pass on it. Your spontaneous musings sound like shit.") was an honest assessment which i think is in his best interests
Do you think its a good idea to cheerlead people when they're being stupid, just because he's on "our team"?
Haven't you learned anything from the last two weeks of RNC and DNC? Yes, you're supposed to blame the Russians, put your head up your ass, and embrace the team winner. Why else would you sign up for a party?
If you're looking for real personal honesty, just start accepting the fact that the next president will be the TV game show host. Hillary is not going to survive debate season, Trump is capable on some occasions of producing a thin layer of charm, where Hillary has zero. He got people to watch him on TV as entertainment, that's a huge advantage in a one on one popularity contest. Hillary's best strategy would be to crawl under a rock until Election Day. The less exposure, the less people realize seeing her face turns their pee stinky.
He was fine until he said "now you're back to religious freedom". He should have said, "now you're prosecuting thought crimes", and stopped.
... bloated cankles is sexist?
So Johnson opposes freedom of association and freedom of religion. How's that social liberalism going. Also even Lenin pretended to favor freedom of association while in opposition.
Hillary summoned her best speech writers for tonight:

My prediction for her acceptance speech:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umU8vKRNnRw
In related news, Obama criticized Trump for having nothing but empty slogans.
Pot meet kettle, Kettle, pot.
Racist
I was thinking more this.
What's your best pitch for Hillary Clinton?
Well, I just feel..
You're gonna have to do your research yourself.
Trump is...
Libertarian beliefs sound anti-democratic.
Her resume speaks for itself.
She's really big on helping women and children.
"What's your best pitch for Hillary Clinton?"
2-seam right under the nose.
Swing away, Merrill.
What will be the Hillary bounce in the polls? I think she'll be up 5% or more but it will be real close by Nov. 1st.
Depending on the vote distribution of states, what are the chances the popular vote winner will not be the
electoral college winner?
Well, if the recent history of Hillary on TV is any guide to the future, she may "bounce" down.
Cytotoxic says different...
About as much as the bounce in her... oh, sorry, I was about to say something sexist.
If I watched this crook speak, it would just make me hate her all the more.
The only speech I'll ever want to see her make is her resignation and farewell address.
Cheer up man, she'll be giving her farewell address in only a little more than eight years.
Prediction: If Hillary wins the election she will die in office.
oooh. You think bill will smother her with a pillow?
There's no way she gets reelected if she wins.
If she wins, she might not even win the nomination four years from now.
Seriously, I wouldn't put it past her to sell indulgences.
You want to rape somebody?
Hillary Clinton will sell you a motherfuckin' get out of jail free card.
Just go to http://www.hillarypardons.com or get the app in the app store!
What are they gonna do, impeach her?! They can't! She's a woman.
Today in derp: https://youtu.be/POPnnqh8DLs?t=1m34s
You must wear an anti-derp helmet of some sort, like Magneto, right?
No, it's more like injecting yourself with diluted venom everyday in order to gain immunity:
http://www.odditycentral.com/n.....unity.html
I don't want to know how or from where you obtained this "venom".
Crusty, on the other hand...
If I don't link this now, I'll wish I had
Oh I saw them live last year! The seats were terrible and expensive but they were still great.
And Hillary breaks into song
Spot the Not: Gary Johnson
1. Reality is for people who can't handle drugs.
2. Every time you pass a law, it is a little bite out of freedom.
3. I don't think you'll ever hear me invoking God in anything I do.
4. I don't believe there should be any restrictions when it comes to firearms. None.
5. Let's end the drug wars. Let's balance the federal budget, and that means reforming the entitlements - Medicaid, Medicare.
6. I reject the insurance model. I think we should have a free-market approach to healthcare.
Reading these made me want to vote for him.
Gotta be 1.
yeah, 1. Isn't that Hunter Thompson? or PKD, or something.
GayJay was quoting the bumper sticker on his Westfalia. It was flanked by dancing bears.
1 - it's like you're not even trying.
Oh, is that so? Do go on.
Oh, a sarcastic dwarf-enslaving madman? I *really* care what *he* thinks.
4
4
Unless he was really, really high I can't imagine GayJay endorsing personal ownership of a Davy Crockett
It better be 6. Insurance is a free-market approach to health care.
Real insurance, of course, not the over-government-regulated kind.
1 is the Not. That has been attributed to both Lily Tomlin and Robin Williams.
OK, I'm getting that "we're living in a computer simulation" again. Hillary gives a shout out to New Bedford. I think of Big Dan's, where a woman played by Jody Foster on the silver screen gets gangbanged. John Hinckley is released...
Other than the whaling museum, and the fantastic Portuguese food there isn't much in New Bedford to give a shout out to, is there?
So brave. So historic.
Hitlery is endorsing the Trump "platform" while rejecting Trump. She's flailing. She's gonna lose, BIG TIME.
Now she's going all Bernie.
She just advocated appointing justices who would make it illegal to criticize her
I'm predicting this.
You know what's delicious? Gin cocktails. Especially ones that have chartreuse. I don't know what's in the green magic liquid, but it is so good.
Also, fuck Hillary Clinton.
Agreed on both points
BOO!! GET THIS FUCKING HIPPIE OFF THE STAGE!!! TRUMP, TRUMP!, TRUMP!
HILL-A-RY!!...HILL-A-RY!!...HILL-A-RY!!... just doesn't have the same context or ring to it.
Rachel Platten is no Bach either.
Wait, why does Hillary think we need change if Obama made everything awesome?
"For the vast rest of us?libertarians, independents, the indifferent?the speech will be a mixed bag."
Ah, blow it out your ass, Gillespie.
Personally, I'm looking forward to a president reminding me of how glorious and historic it was that we elected him/her for the next 8 years.
I can't quite tell: either Hillary is on some kind of drug in that picture, or Bill is perhaps operating her like a handpuppet. Or perhaps both.
The idea of "pulling together" with Hillary or her minions is truly frightening.
I'm making over $9k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. This is what I do.... Go to tech tab for work detail..

Hillary will give us more wars man.
She'll invade the entire Middle East and build up their nations that she destroyed so these nations will have Wal-Marts and Costcos, and Starbucks.
What could be more awesome?

Her speech seemed spontaneous, but was in fact carefully prepared beforehand 192.168.1.1
