Is there a single, defining feature to these attacks that could offer clues on how to prevent more of them from happening?

There's a show on Netflix I've been meaning to check out called Psycho-Pass about a dystopian future where the police use special devices to scan people's brains and arrest/terminate people with abnormal brain patterns that supposedly indicate that someone is a deviant or criminal.

Not sure why that popped into my head just now...

In 18 July, a teenage Afghan refugee hacked at passengers on a train in Wuerzburg with an axe and knife, wounding five. He was shot dead by police.

On 22 July, a German teenager of Iranian heritage shot dead nine people in Munich before shooting himself dead.

On 24 July, a 21-year-old Syrian refugee killed a woman with a machete and wounded five other people as he fled before being arrested.

Later that day, a 27-year-old Syrian whose refugee application had been refused blew himself up outside a bar in Ansbach. Fifteen people were wounded.

God *if only* there were some common thread??? I JUST CANT SEE IT. What possible motive could be influencing such a random group of people who have absolutely nothing in common??

To Moynihan's point, I'm still stunned that the DNC putting its thumbs on the scale is even a scandal. I'm more circumspect about whether or not it's "right", I'll leave that to Clinton political machine Democrats.

But the fact that people seemed shocked? Someone hasn't been paying attention.

Yeah, I was swayed somewhat by Moynihan's point. I mean, the DNC is supposed to be advancing the interests of the party, and Bernie is not, in point of fact, of the party, except opportunistically.

I think the rank-and-file Dems are somehow only just becoming aware of the fact that it's become impossible to distinguish the dividing line between "Democratic party" and "Clinton crony machine", and they really, really want to find somebody to hate over it.
