Hillary Clinton's name was also repeatedly booed at the convention.
Poor Hillary, can't inspire even a fake counter cult of personality following.
Hello.
*sigh*
She'll always have the bootlickers in the MSM...
Chris Matthews reporting for duty!
Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson "is gaining momentum and only needs two more percentage points in the polls to clinch a spot in the presidential debates."
How many points does he need to not be ignored by the moderators of the debates?
An upset win in November.
What makes anyone think if Gary Johnson hits 15% in a single poll it's going to matter? Unless he blows past that point and does it consistently, they are going to find a way to exclude him.
Exactly. Doesn't it have to be 3 national polls? Then they could just cherry pick which months to consider.
The duopoly won't let him in unless both parties think that Gary Johnson will hurt the other party.
Gary is claiming that he is going to take more votes from Hillary, so Trump may support his presence on stage.
If Hillary thinks that Gary will take the votes of the NeverTrump and classical liberal crowd (which I think is more likely), she will support his presence.
It's just a cynical game.
If GJ does end up on stage, I hope he rips them both to shreds.
To GJ, Hillary is a "wonderful public servant". To his running mate, she is a close friend with whom he has a "lifelong bond".
It's not going to happen, but if he got into the debates GJ would only try to shred Trump. Trump would only insult GJ, but he'd shred the credibility of the LP for having nominated GJ.
If GJ does end up on stage, I expect him to bend over and take it in the ass while licking Hil's ...somewhere.
Ovipositor?
It's supposed to be an average of five polls. So yeah, still a ways off, since plenty of polls are still showing him in the mid single digits.
It has to be 5 national polls. Right now he's around 8 or 9 percent if you average that many polls, safely on the sidelines.
But the threshold should really be 1 percent, like it is in the primaries. That would be enough to keep out the riff-raff with no followers.
At this point, both candidates should want some breathing room on the dais. Let Gary Johnson ramble while they're given the chance to shut the hell up and quit damaging themselves.
"Should"?
Won't is the right word.
Neither of these fucks will feel the slightest obligation to leave a single drop of oxygen in the room.
They should want it, and I bet their campaign staffers desperately wish they would want it, but they're both irredeemable sociopathic narcissists.
Hillary would want a break, but Trump could talk for the entire show, hardly taking a breath. He's got enough gas in him for 2 campaigns.
If you think there is pants shitting now over Trump because he is an 'outsider', it is nothing compared to the shit storm that would erupt should Johnson get a serious shot at the oval office.
It occurred to me yesterday that the increasing power of the office of president raises the stakes for those seeking it. I wonder how much more it will have to grow before candidates start literally killing each other.
Doubt it would be the candidates. The dirty little secret is that most of them know one another and are vicious mostly for the cameras. What will get violent are the Two Tribes. As we move to either Red World or Blue World, most members of the tribe will get a lot more adamant that it's got to be their way.
There was a moment in a 2004 presidential debate between Bush and Kerry where the moderator asked Bush something along the lines of what he thought of his opponent. Bush led off with "Well, he went to Yale, nothing wrong with that." And they shared a little chuckle over it, like, yeah, we're part of the same elite clique.
That would make Election 2016 much like the reign of Emperor Justinian and his politically active wife Theodora. Justinian supported the Greens whereas Theodora supported the Blues. Their reign exploited the Blue-Green rivalry to their mutual advantage. The fact that their stirring the pot would occasionally lead to a few thousand heads getting bashed was of little concern to the Byzantine emperor.
"You will support this rebellion from our lands in the North. While I will oppose it from our lands in the South."
I wonder how much more it will have to grow before candidates start literally killing each other.
Nov 22, 1963?
July 11, 1804?
Or just follow the trail back to Arkansas.
How many hit points did he start with?
1 HP with zero attack.
+1 resurrection spell from 2012
+3 charisma
1 HP with zero attack ink cartridges.
Two men claiming affiliation with ISIS killed a priest and took hostages in a church in Normandy, France, before they were shot and killed by French police.
Closet gays, probably. With marital problems.
Hey! What is *depression*, chopped liver?
Comment est-ce qu'on dit "teabagger" en fran?ais?
Chowdah.
That's a hilarious joke every time.
But I feel it is worth pointing out that most things don't have just one cause. Yeah, it's Islamic terrorism and it's stupid to tiptoe around that. But with the guys who aren't clearly directly associated with ISIS or some similar group, you have to figure they've got other problems too.
It doesn't hurt that any rando can do some violence and, as long as they say something nice about ISIS in the process, ISIS will take credit.
I'm trying to figure out ISIS' goal in all this. You made me think it may be as simple as seeming relevant as they lose territory.
That is the administration's line on this, isn't it? They're losing ground and relevance, and 'lashing out' with terrorist attacks keeps them in the news and makes it sound like they are still a force to be reckoned with, so any budding Islamists should join the cause. I think there's some validity to that, though sometimes Kerry and Obama put it in the dumbest words available.
"If something causes problems, it is a problem."
It's problems all the way down.
But I'm thinking specifically of personal and mental health problems.
That is true of every single one of the attackers. The recruiters know how to spot the right kind of crazy, thats how they find these guys. It also seems that Islam is special with regards to exacerbating those problems with people.
All I'm saying is that some of these people don't seem to have been actively recruited, but were more inspired by ISIS or whomever. There are definitely two pretty distinct kinds of attacks that have happened in Europe of late. Obviously well coordinated and prepared attacks like Paris and Brussels, and much smaller and less organized things that appear to only involve one person or maybe a small group.
I'm not trying to downplay the nastiness of the situation. I'm just interested in why people do such things.
One thing is certain - we're going to see more of this.
Jihad is weaponized Islam, and promises heavenly sex with 72 virgins for killing people. Your unemployed dummy with an IQ of 80 is going to buy it and kill people.
85 is the average, so presumably there's a huge subset of that population well below 80 that pass for 'normal' in those societies. Combine that with a religion obsessed with conquest and world domination and you have a problem or two with that population growing within your borders and voting in your electorate.
Your unemployed dummy with an IQ of 80 is going to buy it and kill people.
Islamo-Mohammdans have had quite a bit of success recruiting professial, white collar professions as well, such as engineers, physicians, and academics. Many of whom have either participated in making "The Ultimate Sacrifice in the Name of Mewhammad", or more likely, directly and indirectly facilitating it.
Also, when were terrorists required to carry membership cards and decoder rings to be "authentic" Islamo-Mohammedans? As far as I am concerned, "...inspired by ISIS...," is the same as in the name of ISIS, or Mewhammad, or any other Islamo-Mufti-Nazi type.
Also, for you, Injun... Whenever I see your handle, I think of this little gem.
Nice song, isn't it. I haven't heard it in a long time!
"Everybody wants a bosom for a pillow."
I love that song.
It is going to be so fucking funny when Ahmed and Mohammed wake up after blowing themselves up, to find themselves targeting dummies for Odin's Einherjar in Valhalla!!
And the distinction is important because the lone wolf type guys are harder to stop ahead of time, but do less damage, both directly and in terms of the government response. Large attacks that obviously have a well organized network behind them should be easier to prevent through police work and intelligence gathering and are more likely to result in government reactions like indefinite states of emergency and crackdowns on the political fringe, like we've seen in France and Germany.
What the heck does "clearly directly associated with ISIS" even mean?
The answer of course is: absolutely nothing. It means whatever you want it to mean, in other words it has absolutely no meaning whatsoever. It's a phrase used entirely for the purpose of confusion and obfuscation.
No, you are wrong. There are some attackers who don't appear to have been directly recruited by ISIS or anyone like that or to have been directed by them. There are reasons why these people commit these attacks when thousands of similarly situated Muslims don't.
I'm not trying to confuse or obfuscate anything or make excuses for anyone. I know it's hard to understand when you are an obsessive, stupid asshole who thinks that anyone who believes that anyone who questions your narrative in any way is an apologist and probably an enabler of Islamic terrorists, and most likely a communist too.
Before he shot up the Pulse night club, Omar Mateen's affiliation with ISIS was not "clear" and may not have been "direct". Obviously, after he announced his intentions over the phone and then carried out the attack, the affiliation is pretty clear and how direct it was became irrelevant. Personally, I suspect his wife was the one with the closer, more direct affiliation and she encouraged him (not that it absolves him of any guilt).
I can't say for sure what Zeb meant, but the point is that it's not always known in advance just what people adhere to or intend. The strongest proof of intent is action. Maybe if Mateen and his wife were under greater surveillance, there would have been a lot less ambiguity. Or maybe there wouldn't have been; there's no doubt that there were some "warning signs" of danger from him in general, but that's not the same thing as a connection to ISIS.
Yes, the media is feckless and will lie to build a narrative. But your hyperventillating overcorrection is not any better. Unless you have something to present which contradicts what I said.
I thought it was pretty simple, but it seems not.
Some attacks are obviously coordinated and supplied by well organized groups. Some appear not to be at all. That doesn't mean that the small attacks aren't terrorism or aren't a big fucking problem. But there is a big difference between the guy who gets all worked up and goes off the rails and elaborate networks of people supplying guns and explosives for well coordinated attacks.
Maybe it's all irrelevant to any actual solution, I don't know, and if I did know I wouldn't be in a position to do anything about it. But loudly proclaiming that Islam is the entire problem isn't helping either. You aren't going to make the religion disappear and you aren't going to remove millions of Muslims from Europe without a whole lot of trouble and bloodshed.
Which is a damn good reason to stop the gravy train to discourage further migration. Much of Europe won't be European in another couple generations.
Indeed it is.
Zeb is the typical type of guy who'll say that it's still not clear that a guy is "clearly directly associated with ISIS" even if there's a self-recording of him on video swearing his allegienace to ISIS and proclaiming his determination to kill the infidels. He demands that we somehow prove that the guy physically went to Raqqa to receive paramilitary style training, or got direct shipments of weapons from there, as if this really means anything.
Yes, he is deliberately trying to confuse, obfuscate, make excuses, and blame it all on generic "mental illness" or some such rubbish. He obviously doesn't like being called out on it, but that's too bad.
I've made it quite clear that that is not what I'm doing at all. And you have made it quite clear that you are a stupid asshole. So I guess we're all good here.
Inspired by Christian Republicans, quite obviously.
Maybe he worked at the Church and was being discriminated against by the priest, then one day some infidels pushed him too far and next thing you know it's inshallah all over the place.
The guy worked in the church. It happened in the church. Thus, workplace violence.
"Closet gays, probably. With marital problems."
Let's not jump to conclusions. The motives of the killers have not been determined, nor is it likely that they ever will be since they were shot and killed by police.
Two men claiming affiliation with ISIS killed a priest and took hostages in a church in Normandy, France, before they were shot and killed by French police.
I wonder if the US will stay out of the upcoming religious war in Europe.
I hope so. The French need a W on their record. When was the last unassisted frog victory?
Tours, 732?
I'm going with the War of the First Coalition. Literally every other world power was fighting against France and they won rather convincingly.
To be fair, the victory at Tours by Charles "The Hammer" Martel was a pretty big deal in saving Western civilization.
The US... staying out of a war...
Hilarious!!
Hillary-ous, even. Because, that's just Smart Power? or some other inane window-dressing that she'll spout to hide her incompetence and avarice for power.
I'd settle for the US not being on the side that wants to kill most of us.
My cube got moved to an even worse spot.
Next you know I'll be located on the Thruway median.
🙁
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I will pour out a glass of tepid tapwater in your honor.
I'm not dead. Just annoyed. I can't focus in this new (to me) location.
You need to burn the building down. Next thing you know they're going to be stealing your stapler.
I don't have a stapler. And to be honest, the basement would be an improvement. If someone has a conversation six cubes over, I can hear every word as if they were leaning over my shoulder.
Start answering back and then pretend it wasn't you.
Or blame the sock puppet.
Start a company newsletter with a gossip column.
You will get fired or moved to isolation.
He's a civil servant, so come on. He's not going to be fired. That's crazy talk.
*No offense intended to UnCivilServant
None taken. It is pretty much the only perk that people don't get wrong.
Porn at work isn't a perk?
Please, H&R isn't porn...well, I don't *think* so, anyway...
It's just not wrong.
UCS is an employee of New York State, if i'm remembering correctly, so he can never, ever get fired for any reason.
Untrue. It's not impossible. Being a peon, if I steal from the state, they will fire me (that's reserved for the bigwigs). Or if I drink or sleep on the job...
But they turn a blind eye to posting on a known dissident anarchist website?
I worked with a civil servant (at a federal agency) who slept on the job. That is, people 3-4 cubes away could hear him snoring away his afternoon. He kept his job for years and years.
What finally did him in was surfing p0rn at work. After being caught more than once and given more than one warning, his civil servant bosses were finally able to get rid of him.
Thankfully, after a couple years of litigation, his union rep was able to wring a tidy settlement out of the agency, followed by an early retirement with full pension and medical bennies.
we had a guy who slept all the time... and found a Doc who called it narcolepsy.
Only thing to do was to bust into his cubicle and start asking him for things without any precursor or wake up.
Finally wore him down after 7 years. And retirement eligibility as a GS13.
Why don't you grab a flashlight and a can of pesticide and take care of the cockroach problem we have in Storage B?
-Lumbergh
I understand. One office reshuffle they put me in the cube outside the department head's office. Everyone who came by to chat with him was basically standing in my cubicle. Made me a nervous wreck.
Dammit!
Right in LOS of your boss' office!
'So I need to - HEY, USC! got an assignment for you.'
Did you get to keep your Red Swingline stapler?
You have 30 minutes to move your cube.

Bill Clinton will headline tonight's festivities at the Democratic National Convention.
Yakety sax.
Sure, why not?
I was thinkin this at about the 3 min mark.
I haven't been watching the DNC coverage, but I'm guessing every attempt is being made by the media to downplay the divide in the Democratic party and the leak scandal? Lots of tossing around the Russian/Putin angle and how they want the GOP to win the White House (hinting that you are doing their will by voting Trump)?
I'm guessing every attempt is being made by the media to downplay the divide in the Democratic party and the leak scandal
Boos have been recast as "enthusiasm". Yesterday started off with with some protesting but by the end of the night everyone had come together. Total contrast with the RNC. Or so I am told.
I haven't been watching so the last two may very well be true. I do think most Democrats will fall in line.
Basically this: Michelle Obama spoke and united the entire party through her magical words.
Her wonderful, magical words!
Her speeches are literary genius. Her phrases and terminology should inspire public speakers for generations.
They were talking about the divisions and protests on NPR this morning, but it does seem like they are moving towards "everything's OK now" as the general thrust of the narrative.
Hillary Illustrated for Kids
The accompanying illustration holds up Jackie Robinson as the beneficiary of patriarchal privilege, which is surely a historical first
Hahaha. What the fuck?
Dog whistle?
#BlackLivesNoLongerMatter
That's crazy. Let's reanimate him so he can take a look around and see what people bitch people about.
Well, he was a Republican, Jackie Robinson, that is.
It was and is such a man's world that they've always died sooner because of all the god damn stress of feeding the ungrateful.
Damn it all, Barfman, where have you gone!
*weeps*
On the campaign trail in 1992, Clinton gets criticized "in ways they'd never criticize a man."
BZZZT!! *Lots* of guys get called the c-word.
Isn't that an antipodian term of endearment?
Especially Ken. Cunt.
An oldie but a goodie.
Back in 2008 our friends bought a book called "Why Mommy and Daddy voted for Barrack Obama". To read their newborn. *Barf*.
This actually sounds worse.
I remember a time when new parents would dress their infants in onesies with irreverent messages or illustrations. They were just trying to be funny about the bawling mess on their hands. Now your baby has to be a status symbol. But I imagine anyone who buys party propaganda for a newborn would insist on their moral superiority relative to, say, Paris Hilton or Mylie Cyrus or whoever's hot these days.
Mommy and daddy? Cis marriage privilege!
in the 1950s, it was a man's world
But it wouldn't be nothin' without a woman or a girl.
Only boys had no ceilings on their dreams
So my brother could have been a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle when he grew up, after all!
He is a Ninja Turtle.
He often smelled like he came from a sewer during his teenage years, but I thought that was just a coincidence.
When I was just a wee lad I told my mom that I wanted to be a Ninja Turtle. My sister wanted to be a mermaid.
Ironically, you ended up the mermaid?
I wish, Weeki Wachee isn't that far from me, maybe I'll shoot over for an interview.
"MERMAN!!! (sobs)"
Surely the author only meant "white boys" have no ceiling on their dreams. SURELY!
the life story of Hillary Clinton has to be painfully shoehorned into a Joseph Campbell-style hero's journey
Is it too much to ask for a children's book with a Bruce Campbell-style hero's journey?
To close for comfort. Hilary is what gets called up when you read the Necronomicon.

Phrasing?
When all is innuendo nothing will be innuendo.
In YOUR end-o.
Done in by a Dice Clay impression, yet again.
Ohh!
Bill Clinton is making headlines, much like the corduroy sofa he pushed his victims' faces into.
Even Bernie Sanders was booed earlier in the day after telling a group of his supporters to vote for Clinton over Donald Trump.
To be fair, at this point booing when Trump's name is spoken may be pavlovian.
It did sound like they were booing Clinton's name in the excerpt I heard this morning.
"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will have talks with Vladimir Putin in Russia next month amid a rapid warming in relations following the failed military coup in Turkey."
I'm sure Putin's earlier advice on how to purge Erdogan's enemies from government was very helpful.
There's going to be a lot of soul staring going on.
After the tension with Turkey and Russia over Syria, I am somewhat happy to see this. I don't really want to see US in a hot war with Russia because and increasing unhinged NATO partner does something stupid interacting with Russia.
Me too. And the Russians are playing that area so much cooler than the State Dept., it's stunning.
All the people crying during Bernie and/or Michelle's speech should be stripped of their right to vote and horsewhipped.
How about all the people wearing tape over their mouths?
I'd rather see people angry over process than weeping over a politician's brave words.
They will get a slap on the back of the head and a lifetime ban from Tumblr.
If they put another strip over their noses too, I'm all for it.
Thread winner right there
I saw a Bernie Bro on FB post a picture of himself sweating in his car while he streamed Bernie's speech on his phone.
What the fuck.
Also, too stupid to leave the car running for some A/C?
Sweat hides the tears.
But, like, that would be bad for the environment, man.
Bad for the environment? Its literally killing people.
http://www.foxnews.com/politic.....-isis.html
Against refrigeration too?
It really is nauseating, at least when people cry during a republican speech everyone rightfully makes fun of how creepy and disturbing it is.
That depends on the reason they are crying. I don't think it's for the same reason the leftybots cry.
B.C. to bring in real estate tax on foreign buyers
Let me see if I get this this straight.
They say they have a housing shortage, but their answer is to disincentivize sales, and make housing more expensive both in reducing supply and taxing the transaction. Instead of, you know, loosening restraint on new construction or something useful like that.
It's B.C.

A study in retardation.
Do it! #FloridaRealestateMan has plenty of condos for sale, no foreign taxes required.
I bet they liquidated their properties coincidentally just before this was passed.
Bill Clinton will headline tonight's festivities at the Democratic National Convention.
*shaves legs, just in case*
Bill Clinton will headline tonight's festivities at the Democratic National Convention.
The theme apparently is something like "overcoming adversity". No joke.
Bill can talk about how broke they were when they left the White House until they got their graft machine rolling.
I dont believe that. No way they were broke. If you remember, when they left the whitehouse at the end of his second term they had destroyed all communications and communications equipment, in addition to stealing curtains, dishes, etc.
Shades of Cankles current scandals, I am thinking that was the first time they sold the office they just didn't get caught.
Or how they got back on their feet by selling their used furniture. Oh, wait....
Or how difficult it was to constantly have to overcome rape accusations from floozies and harlots who practically threw themselves at him in private. Women have been targeting Bill since all the way back in 1969.
The theme apparently is something like "overcoming adversity"
EUPHEMISMS!
Since Bill is involved, exactly how much "come" will be needed to exceed the "adversity" threshold?
Where "adversity" is defined as "objections to sexual advances"
Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson "is gaining momentum and only needs two more percentage points in the polls to clinch a spot in the presidential debates."
Whether he gets them will rely on the MSM deciding from which voter pool he'd like dip.

Well, it'd be cheaper. Shorter *and* built by Mexicans. Oh wait - it was going to be built be Mexicans anyway because US union labor is too expensive.
Seriously, you think Mexico will splurge and get mexican laborers? They'll use Guatemalans.
At this point, the Guatemalans will be sub-contracting out to some Venezuelans who do not require food to live, instead they feed only on revolutionary spirit.
Cuban Doctors sent over to Venezuela in exchange for oil, put to work building the wall as subcontractors to get hard pesos to buy oil from other countries to sell to Cuba because they've destroyed their own industry.
"I'm gonna build a wall and make Mexico pay for it!!"
Everyone scoffed.
Now Mexicans are considering building a wall that will cut down on immigrants coming into the US.
Holy shit he was right.
Considering that almost half of the illegal immigrants are from Latin American countries OTHER than Mexico, maybe we should help Mexico build their wall.
So we should offer them a 2 for 1 special?

Johnny, have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
"'Shirly' you aren't serious?"
What? They didn't see Midnight Express?
Unpossible. Turkey is a modern, secular democracy and is a member of NATO in good standing. Or so I have been told.
Its a good thing that guns aren't widely available in France. Can you imagine all the carnage if *everyone* had one and not just the terrorists?
False dichotomy, all gun owners ARE terrorists. Herself said so!
Exactly - if those people in that church had had a few guns themselves they might have handled the situation on their own and then where would the French government be? People might start thinking that they can handle other things on their own.
Bill Clinton is speaking tonight. I wonder if he'll be held up as an example of what happens when those serial predator rapists go unpunished in college.
Somebody will definitely have to hold him up.
I bet he won't be booed like Hillary.
How much is he gettin paid ?
The man has to pay their bills, he said so himself.
He'll be addressing women's issues, and his plans for 'helping' them.
I hope someone smuggles in a blue dress!
On a purely anecdotal level, Johnson chatter is definitely on the rise. I have maybe... 3? 4? actual libertarian friends but a lot of people I know in general are starting to talk about him. Also heard his name mentioned on a local morning radio show. I've heard the "it's a waste of your vote" only a couple times, surprisingly. The main "criticism" I hear though is "he supports laissez faire and that's what gave us so much income inequality!"
*eye rolls so hard that I slip a disc in my back*
It's almost like no matter how many times you tell them the boogey man doesn't exist, they still shriek about him.
Johnson chatter is definitely on the rise.
Better cut back on the caffeine.
If you are still experiencing Johnson chatter after four hours, please consult your doctor.
You just need a better grade of lube, my friend.
If not for their boogeymen they might have to start seriously analyzing their own candidates...
Donald Trump's Real Ambition
So... he actually IS a standard politician?
And Hillary is just a faithful public servant!
Apparently, people who plan their entire life from an early age to do what Trump is now doing are somehow morally superior.
No shit? So he's a totally typical politician after all.
And since when does a politician wanting glory necessarily mean he will be bad? The best way to achieve glory is to do a good job. Moreover, how is the pursuit of glory not preferable to a politician whose entire goal is to implement some ideology? Glory hounds have done some good over the years. Ideologues have generally ended up putting people in ovens. Just saying.
It doesn't necessarily mean he will be bad.
Who do you have in mind as glory hounds who have done some good? I can't think of many in the political realm.
"The best way to achieve glory is to do a good job."
Or start a lot of wars. Though I don't think that's Trump's thing.
Or he could do a bunch of grandiose public works projects. That can get you some glory.
HE will bang some hawt chicks in the WH. That's what gets you glory (according WJC it is chubby interns).
What do you think Obama has been trying to do for seven years now?
So... he's a reality TV celebritard? Thanks, science! What would we ever do without you?
"...Trump is driven by one thing and one thing only: the search for glory."
Whoa, whoa, whoa, this is a *scientific* publication, you can't just publish this wild speculation as fact, where's your evidence?
/sarc
Or maybe after years of trying to accomplish things in a corrupt, rigged system of cronyism and dealing with pols not smart enough to tie their own shoes he got sick of that shit and decided to wreck the system.
How many pants could a pants shitter shit if a pants shitter could shit pants?
So many shitty panties.
Friendly Reminder: Bernie Sanders Is A Bigger Authoritarian Than Donald Trump
But Bernie wants to help people! Authoritarians don't help people!
Greedy Bernie mostly wants to help himself to my money.
This is one reason why I don't watch the Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Trevor Noah et al.
There is SO much ridicule that can be hurled the way of these morons.
But the partisan hacks will pick easy-to-ridicule rubes at the RNC and then caricature and tear them down on camera.
The derp on the left is tremendous, but the media is wallowing in the same filthy derp pond.
America Wastes $160 Billion in Food Every Year But Is Too Busy to Stop: The good news? At least half of us know it's a problem.
Look forward to being lectured about this for forever.
I already signed a petition to get Walmart to quit throwing away unattractive fruit and vegetables. I've done my part.
But Citizen X, unattractive fruits and vegetables are their customers!. Why would they throw them out?
You're right, we shouldn't discriminate against Barney Frank and Barbara Boxer.
That is some waste that really is stupid. If they can't sell them, at least give them away to someone who can use them.
I think liability worries are a big part of it.
I used to have a friend that worked for Brookshires. He gave away the fruits and veggies to me. I used them for aerial pistol targets. It was a lot of fun. I probably burned through 50,000 22LR in my K-22 in a couple of years.
I was thinking more of food banks and soup kitchens and such, but that is also an excellent way to dispose of unsalable produce.
I think liability worries are a big part of it.
They are all of it. Walmart doesn't throw away food because they're just big corporate meanies. They throw away food because they don't want to be sued for giving anyone "tainted" food.
I'd also say that, while I personally abhor wasting food, on a large scale food that goes to "waste" is not inherently concerning. If the production rate exceeds the consumption rate, the difference has to go somewhere. In our increasingly preservative-averse culture, that somewhere is the trash.
They are called "perishables" for a reason.
I'll take all of the unattractive fruits and turn it into booze.
Why is it a problem? We still have excess food galore to ship over to starving Africa. Spoilage and waste in food is natural and inevitable.
ALL food turns to waste. The only question is how many steps does it take to get there.
Sheesh, just turn New Jersey into "The Compost State".
Isn't it already?
So what? Keeps more farmers employed.
shocked I am - shocked!
At Davidson College ? a top-ranked elite N.C. school ? only six percent of professors are Republican
I have to admit I laughed at including an athlete on the list of people who were "educated" by a school.
Republicans recognize a hostile work environment when they see it.
Anyone remember this? The same applies to all academia, not just social psychology.
I know a social psych academic and she's astronomically smug. I get a laugh watching the reaction of academics like her when people like Scott Walker get elected to office and survive recalls and relection.
Is Social Psychology Biased Against Republicans?

In memory of the long-missing Episiarch: it's always projection with them.
Where's Episiarch? Did I miss something during my several months-long break from H&R?
I'm not sure what you missed, except that a number of regulars went silent. I haven't seen anything from Epi, Nikki, or OMWC in awhile. I list them together because they all seemed to disappear around the same time. I also haven't seen Irish commenting lately. On the upside, Groovus has reappeared and Pro Lib has made the odd appearance too.
Is Almanian still around or have we lost him? I remember he was very sick but have heard nothing about him.
I thought I read about him passing a few months ago, but can't quite remember?
Saw him in the past week or two, definitely.
OMWC
Handle change: He's a Renegade now. Of the ((( ))) variety. Thank you for noticing, kbolino, and keeping your handle (I remember you from years ago). Keeping up with all these name changes can be a full time job.
OMWC rebranded as (((Renegade))))))))))))))). Irish left us for Stormfront. Epi and Nikki ran off together, got married, and live on an off-the-grid farm in Wyoming.
Epi's been too busy humpin' our mothers to post here.
To be fair, Steph Curry schooled plenty of players at other colleges while he was there, so he was giving back in a way.
35 deaths linked to scope infections after Olympus told execs not to warn hospitals
Sounds like someone needs some common sense regulations. The media will be all over this one while simultaneously ignoring the many people who die through what the government deems to be acceptable risk.
You don't need 23 different choices of gastrointestinal scopes.
This is why we need regulations!!!!
Seriously, though, throw the fuckers in jail and sue them in civil court.
Finally, something useful for Preet and the plaintiffs' lawyers to do.

Have fun with this one, freaks - Bleeding On The Job: A Menstruation Investigation: Menstruating at the office can sap women's productivity, but a new breed of startups is working to make it less of a hassle.
I share my favorite off-quoted section:
I would think the blood getting on everything in the office would force the patriarchal scum in the office to take action. I mean, since these women obviously can't afford their own menstrual supplies.
Ugh. No one read the article. It's like a SugarFree idea factory.
It's your fault, bro.
They sometimes forget to be prepared, therefore the company must provide them with whatever they want.
This is a weird thing to say. It seems to imply that most women have a desk drawer dedicated to stockpiling tampons and maxipads because you just never know when they're going to start bleeding out of their whatevers.
I hear their menstruation attracts bears. Also maybe if she didn't look so hot they wouldn't be eye-raping her everywhere she goes with their male gaze, she should probably dyke it up a bit.
Don't take your wife to see monkeys at the zoo when she is on her period. Trust me when I tell you that is sound advice.
Is that to avoid problems for the monkeys or the wives Southenboy?
Jesus Christ, ladies, no one fucking cares if you are on your period. Do what you need to do.
You'll be MADE to care, dammit!
A 39-year-old explained that one of the most stressful parts about getting her period at work is trying to hide it from the men surrounding her. "You have to make it past all your noisy male coworkers who are watching you go back and forth to the restroom," she told the Harris researchers. She's not the only one who feels this way: Five percent of women don't carry their purse to the restroom for fear that others will guess that it's their time of the month.
Feminism: encouraging fragile Victorian-esque sensitivities for over 100 years
"You have to make it past all your noisy male coworkers who are watching you go back and forth to the restroom,"
I guarantee you, they're not.
Is that counting the plumbing repairs?
That is a very good point, Lee, and one that very true. Maybe Big Period and Big Plumbing are in cahoots.
If it's less than 5 bucks, buy it yourself!
This comment should come with a trigger warning! Making xir purchase something for xirselves is the same as restricting access. It is known.
Whatever, I already work in one of these brutal menarchys. The single-person staff bathroom as a cabinet full of cooter plugs and twat diapers, so many there's a giant pile on top as well, often overflowing onto the floor. And if you feel the need to bleed all over the toilet seat, at least clean up after yourself.
I already work in one of these brutal menarchys
So, you work with a bunch of 12 year old pubescents now? I guess the Dewey Decimal System has *really* changed over the years; the SLA apparently changed its membership reqs.
BTW, have you considered leaving diabetic raspberry jam on the seat before you leave as your expression of "sympathy menorrhagia"?
"If it's not their fault, then why is the word 'men' right there at the beginning of the word?"
There is such a thing as diabetic raspberry jam? *perks ears up and glucose meter goes to 127(this morning, highest it's been for a month)
If it only costs $4.67 per woman per year - then why can't the women handle it on their own? At least then they'd be able to ensure they always had exactly what they need and want on hand rather than whatever industrial sandpaper product was cheapest to buy in bulk.
MISOGYNIST!
Someone might see them carrying a tampon back to the bathroom and think less of them. It's not about the blood, it's about the shame. Never mind that they are strong, independent women who would never be ashamed of a bodily function.
The articles on menstrual justice are very confused for a normal human.
Maybe I'm a weirdo, but I could give two fucks if a woman is on her period. It's natural, get over it.
FH, the main character in The Red Vag of Courage
Noice.
Yeah, the shit that people feel shame about is weird. Everyone knows that women get periods and isn't going to think less of a woman because it happens at an inconvenient moment. Maybe I'm a weirdo too, but I really don't think so.
Some women think you care, Zeb, which is what matters. Therefore: tampons MUST be provided, and not just your run of the mill brands, but I want organic options, too.
The people who write articles like this have a warped how men's minds operate, believing we're all some combination of the characters in Mad Men and violent fourteen-year-olds.
I don't care, yet I always seem to know, either by behavior or some weird pattern-matching ability. Stupid period-tracking brain.
I know when guest have their periods because my dog won't stop sniffing their crotch. I'm embarrassed by the dog, not their period.
I don't care, yet I always seem to know, either by behavior
Their normally queasy reactions to your water-cooler anecdotes is replaced by violent retching?
Hey, having a sixth sense for when a woman is being all periodic is a survival skill.
It's true. I know which five days each month i need to go to the office early, work late, and maybe pick up some chocolate on the way home.
Hey, having a sixth sense for when a woman is being all periodic is a survival skill.
Especially when working in a hospital (or any other female dominated workplace). Or having a surgeon for a wife. Or both.-)
Maybe I'm a weirdo,
But was that ever in doubt?
Nobody gives a shit. They're running out of first world problems and have 800 words due every week, so this is what we get now.
Maybe somebody will write an article about awkward boners next.
I don't understand why that completely unnecessary "Maybe" was attached to that sentence.
Aren't these the same women who get free BC pills? You know, the kind the lessen or outright stop menstruation? I has me a confused!
What if Wanda in accounting only uses authentic Cherokee hair tampons? What if Big Bertha needs a pad the size of a dinner plate? What if the popular name brand is made with children's tears and the hipsters don't want to be exploitative? I have a novel solution; bring your own god damn hygiene products you entitled fuck. She said herself that it would only cost her $4.67, that's less money than it took to publish her stupid fucking article.
4-Year-Old Boy's Prosthetic Leg Stolen At Orange County Beach
"The people who stole it probably didn't even think twice about that, like didn't even care something important was in there."
Did you ever consider maybe they were poor immigrants who couldn't afford a prosthetic leg for their kid? WELL, DID YOU?!
"Who the Hell would want to steal this?" is a perfectly rational though process. But it's wrong. One thing that I've recently been astonished to learn is that thieves really don't care what they're stealing. For example, that "make sure valuables are out of sight" advice is utter BS. Criminals typically subscribe to the "we have to break into the car to find out what's in it" school of thought. I imagine whoever stole the leg didn't really know how valuable prosthetics are. It was just a thing that wasn't theirs that they could get their hands on. Therefore, it was important to steal it.
Hmm. What's the sharia law position on hand prosthetics?
The leg could have been full of candy. Or pirate gold.
I can just see some dude walking into the Pawn Stars shop and saying they have George Washington's pirate leg. Let me call my friend down at the historical society.
Last night, NBC Nightly News did a three-minute segment at the top of the hour about the DNC email hacks.
Did it discuss Debbie Wassername Schultz's firing? Briefly.
Did it discuss DWS's immediate rehiring by the Clinton campaign? Not a mention
What about the revelation that big donors are being awarded appointments? Again, not a peep.
"Wait a minute," you may be wondering. "If NBC dedicated more than 10% of its entire nightly program to the DNC hack but didn't discuss the most appalling aspects of it, what did they talk about?"
Well, we got a good deal of speculation, based entirely on groundless claims by Hillary, that Putin or his men did (and not this Guccifer 2.0 character who claimed responsibility a while back, or, more likely, numerous hacks because their cyber security appears to be zilch). Then we got a full minute discussing the apparent admiration and friendship between Trump and Putin.
They did not directly state that Putin leaked the DNC emails to help Trump, possibly with his consent, but it was heavily insinuated.
When I was at the gym yesterday, I briefly read some closed captioning laid over The View. It was also about 10% acknowledgement that the DNC fucked up and 90% "OMG RUSSIATRUMPPUTIN!"
Maybe I'm just some combination of older, wiser, or more cynical, but I feel like, in years past, the media at least pretended they weren't completely in the tank for the Democratic candidate.
I think the difference is since there were no other sources of news it just appeared normal, hence the nostalgia the old media has for the old network days.
They can't let on that they want to give Trump fair coverage. Because he's worse than Mussolini, and they won't get invited to the cocktail parties.
I think I saw the same one. It was shameless.
How times change in four years.
Did it discuss Debbie Wassername Schultz's firing regrettable resignation in the face of a misogynistic Berniebro onslaught?
What about the revelation that big donors are being awarded appointments? Again, not a peep.
In NBC's defense, this isn't exactly news.
Gawker still beating off to lame tweets:
Bernie Sanders Wins Democratic National Convention
It's annoying since one element of his personality most everyone seems to like is that he's authentically un-hip and doesn't care. So this is either an aide (duh) or him trying to be hip. Either way, nothing to cheer.
old man yells at social media
I think it's time for the Bernie supporters to break off and form their own party. They could call it the National Socialist Workers Party. Bad people have never used that name... right?
They should make sure to throw the word "democratic" in front of it. That way they show that they won't murder people or steal their stuff at gunpoint unless a majority of people agrees with them. Democratic National Socialist Party. See? Perfectly harmless.
You gotta throw "people" in there somewhere. The Democratic People's Republic of North America.
Random thought:
In the media - even sometimes here at Reason - I see Democrats missteps and problems either ignored or glossed over. If not, then the tone of the article has the bad situations as just minor bumps in the road.
But a Republican - or non-Dem - candidate, everything is always just spiraling out of control, and they are just one step away from making some political gaffe that will doom their run for office.
The same effect seems especially obvious on Facebook (memes or shared news stories). How much of this is driven by the media or just plain team politics?
Yes I know Team Red has the same type of operation going on in their small media world, but it certainly doesn't seem to drive "the national narrative" like the left can.
It's largely driven by the MSM, which (the Hillary server, the Ben Rhodes expose and the DNC hack have all directly shown) take their marching orders almost word-for-word from the Dem establishment.
Talking Points Memo. All one needs to do is see how quickly the word dark was associated with the Trump speech.
I don't call them the DemOp Media for nothing, you know.

Trying to help my 7 year old daughter up her math skills. Figured I'd try playing backgammon with her to help her understand probabilities. She won't hit me, though, because she feels bad about it. I caught her and my wife playing my old GTA game one day. They were driving around, following all the traffic rules. They both agreed that game was boring. I'm starting to see a gender difference appearing.
Not my middle daughter. She has no problem obliterating the competition using any means necessary.
Middle daughter. That may explain a few things.
In some versions of GTA the AI would ram you if you stopped for a red light. They simply did not take the player car into acount when determining where they should be stopping.
I'm starting to see a gender difference appearing
True, women are much better drivers. 😀
But really, is she good with the fundamentals of math? If she needs help with that, I suggest teaching her to cook.
Great idea. Of course, that means I'll have to start measuring ingredients myself. Luckily we don't have the common core nonsense here.
Instead of cooking, try baking. Measurement is necessary.
True, women are much better drivers. 😀
"I am so glad this person in front of me is keeping a safe following distance and driving below the speed limit. I could learn a lot from this clearly superior motorist."
-Things that no one will ever say
Maybe not, but "Thanks for cutting me off psycho. Better hurry up so you can be the first one to the red light!" Is something I say a lot.
That's just good strategy. On a major road the lights have a tendency to cascade; being the first one to the red light decreases the possibility of hitting the next one and the one after that.
This is especially apparent when the one is stuck behind a clearly superior motorist that seems to be intent on catching every single one.
And when they meet a hooker, they get her a change of clothes and drive her to a job fair?
It takes a lot of effort to squeeze out of those tight skirts, and that's why the car is rocking.

Boston Globe Prog is sorry she was so mean and unfair to Mitt Romney. I bet she is. I trolled a prog friend of mine with the line of "You know if you had been fair to Mitt Romney in 2012, he probably would have won the election and there would be no Donald Trump for President". Must spitting, stomping and hilarity ensued.
Good old look at me concern trolling from this prog.
Had the GOP establishment succeeded in stopping Trump and nominated Jeb Bush, I am so sure this woman would be thankful and learned from her mistake with Romney and treated Bush fairly. I am sure. She would never have called Jeb a fascist or a racist or lied about his positions like she did to poor Mitt. Nope. She knows better now.
Total non-apology apology.
It was written to remind the reader how, according to her, much Romney sucked in 2012, and how much more Trump sucks in 2016.
Of course, there is no mention of Clinton. Nothing about what a crook she is, or that the "lock her up" chants have a basis in reality.
Your comment falsely assumes that these people have any accountability, shame, or memory for shit they've claimed in the past.
NO but they think they do. And forcing them to show they don't really pisses them off.
So she's at least ackowledging that her current "oh, for the days of responsible Republicans like Romney" concern-trolling conflicts with what they *used* to say about Romney?
Romney was LITERALLY Hitler a few years ago. Now it's clear that Trump is LITERALLY HITLER! and Romney was a reasonable and honorable Republican and, oh, how we should have respected him then. McCain was also LITERALLY Hitler back in 2008, but Romney made us all realize our mistake, then. Maybe we'll be less rash in designating people as Hitler in the future?
Republicans running for office = fascists
Republicans who lost elections in the past and returned to private life = why can't the modern Republican Party have people like *them*?
What I'd like to see is one of these retired politicians run for office again, forcing journalists to retract all the nice things they said when the politician was considered to have left political life forever.
"He was reasonable when he ran back in 20--, but the current party has pushed him so far to the right!"
why can't the modern Republican Party have people like *them*?
Indeed. Losers who clear the way for a Dem will always be the Dem's favorite Republicans.
If every state used the NE/ME method of assigning electoral votes, Romney would have won. First time since 1960 it would have made a difference.
Its a pretty good fraud prevention method too. Just like the EC prevents fraud in one state from throwing the entire election (IL in 1960 and FL in 2000 as possible exceptions), assigning by congressional district makes fraud in one district less valuable, preventing those IL and FL exceptions above.
I am generally against that system. I like the electoral college as it is. That said, I had never thought about the fraud angle. It does make it would greatly limit the potential good voter fraud could do a candidate. Now, if the Democrats invent 100,000 votes in Chicago, it can get them the entire state of Illinois. With that system, it just gets them the electoral votes associated with Chicago by a bigger margin, which they would have won anyway.
I am not sure that convinces me to change my opinion. But it definitely makes me think about it. That is a great point.
The reason I originally like it, is that it changes the target for campaigning. Right now, there is no need for any campaigning in a large number of states.
In some senses, that is good, it means I dont see many presidential ads. But it also gets you neglected.
Parts of KY are in play under the ME/NE system. The funny thing is, until recently, KY was a swing state, it went with the winner election after election. Now it isnt in play.
CA isnt really in play, but it becomes a big deal under this system, as there are red parts of the state. Same for Texas in reverse.
It makes the EC more representative without going full democracy.
The EC, plus winner-take-all, tilts the process in favor of the big states.
I think that's fair compensation for the advantage given small states in the Senate.
It sounds Rube Goldbergesque - compensating for the Wyoming=California set-up in the Senate with a presidential election system which gives the advantage to the large states.
But so long as we have the system we have, I think this sort of balance is good, at least in principle.
As I've pointed out before, the "winner-takes-all" system has no particular connection to the electoral college. The states have always been free to decide how their electors are chosen, and winner-takes-all did not come to be the norm until the early-mid 1800s. None of the proponents of the EC thought it necessary, or even advisable, for every state to use the same system, never mind specifically winner-takes-all.
SC was the last holdout on having actual elections. They just had the state legislature choose the EC members.
Yesterday someone wanted a breakdown of the DNC Wikileaks. I saw this:

This is something about progs that never ceases to amaze. They don't even try to think about what they're saying. TPP is about international trade. Sharecropping has practically nothing to do with international trade. It wasn't enough to throw a little pandering in there about teh HERO Elijah Cummings, just had to throw a little economic ignorance in there as well.

Jesus, that blog is still active?
Why are liberals so upset with trump? Guy is closer to a democrat than a republican.
Because he is closer to what a Democrat was in 1985. Democrats in 2016 are batshit insane leftist SJWs.
Because he's a patriotic American who believes the interests of America should come before the interests of foreigners.
In other words, the biggest imaginable threat to globalists, internationalists, and America-haters in general.
Bullshit; he's a blowhard who changes his position as often as Hillary lies.
This has become a parody account.
I thought that was always your act.
Because he parrots the words he thinks that a patriotic American who believes the interests of America should come before the interests of foreigners would say.
That's more than enough. To a leftist, simply saying something like "America first" is enough to make you Hitler Junior. Nothing on earth is guaranteed to drive than more insane, more quickly.
Imagine telling a leftist that not only should America be the overriding policy position for American officials, but that Western liberalism is far and away superior to its cultural rivals throughout history and the world.

They are so delusional.
Yeah, the Iraq war vote was the fault of GOP attacks. That's one of the mistrust gorillas in the room for HRC.
Running a private, unsecure email server to thwart FOIA was also the fault of GOP attacks.
Getting cash from all sorts of shady characters for the Clinton Foundation was also a fault of GOP attacks.
What do people here think of wonks specifically the wonk blog on wapo? I was reading some and they appear to be a bunch of hacks. There seems to be a trend among st political journalists that they are enlightened and superior...thus they should be able to socially engineer society. I think it harkens back to Marx idea of forming a utopia by perfecting humans....which of course is dangerous thinking.
The term "wonk" has a particular meaning in Washington. It means some douchebag a few years out of college who gets paid to repeat one side's talking points about a particular subject for which he has no experience, knowledge or expertise. For example, Ezra Klein was once the Washington Post's "healthcare wonk". Klein is a douche bag who had a degree in Political science, had never worked in the field and was completely unqualified for even the most low level job in the field. Klein was however just out of college and expert at repeating the Prog talking points about healthcare and was thus given the title of "wonk".
It's basically how media is today. Almost all of the old-school journalists were trained in an educational environment that didn't cater to the lowest common denominator. They developed actual beats and contacts that added substance to their stories, which meant getting out of the office and talking to people face-to-face instead of a digital umbilicus.
But in the internet age, with subscriptions of paper news through the floor and news organizations dependent on ad revenue to keep afloat, they've dropped most of these people in favor of intellectually stunted click-bait writers who are much cheaper to employ and can increase web traffic.
What college does to these fools is that gives them hubris. They look down on your average blue collar worker and/or your average religious person.
When you look at those people as inferior to you, the arrogance of the pseudo-intellect leads to a desire to control and push these people around.
"Wonk" used to mean someone who had specialized knowledge about something.
There were foreign policy wonks and Medicare wonks.
Calling people wonks just because they're journalists means the term loses meaning.
A "wonk" used to be someone a journalist would interview because of their specialized knowledge.
Now a wonk just seems to be any journalist who yells, "Stop denying the science!".
"We trusted you!" Elizabeth Warren was booed and heckled by supporters of Bernie Sanders at the Democratic National Convention last night. Hillary Clinton's name was also repeatedly booed at the convention. Even Bernie Sanders was booed earlier in the day after telling a group of his supporters to vote for Clinton over Donald Trump."
I can't remember the last time Democrats did anything that made me feel good inside.
Usually everything they do and say makes me feel nauseated.
Boooooooooooooooooooooooo!
+1
You keepa' using dat word. I donna' think it means a what you think it means.
Lucy will hold the football FOR SURE this time.
If Hillary can't be brought to bay in a debate (and I'm betting she can't), I think a Trump v Johnson debate would happen. Trump would love it, and so would Johnson. If it happens, they should insist on three podiums, leaving one empty for Hillary.
Usually Presidents start out being more popular and gradually become less so.
Nixon's popularity rating hovered around 30% after Watergate.
Hillary's popularity rating has been holding steady at 40% since January.
If she wins the White House and becomes decreasingly popular over her first term like most Presidents do, she'll be approaching Nixon level popularity without much effort at the end of her first term.
I expect whomever wins to be a one term President. Whomever wins the White House may not even win the nomination four years from now.
I recently saw a poll, I don't recall where, that more than 50% of both Trump's supporters and Hillary's supporters are more "against the other party's candidate" than "in favor of their own." We have an election where, whoever wins, they won't even be viewed favorably by a majority of their own party. Dark times are ahead, indeed.
(Unless Trump delivers on his promise that we'll win so much we'll be bored with winning, in which case boring times are ahead.)
And that isn't the half of it. Think about how badly the Democrats lost in the midterms with Obama in office. Obama is still a relatively popular president with the public at large. Yet still the Democrats have suffered the worst 8 years since the Civil war at the Congressional and State levels. If it is that bad under Obama, how bad will it be under a deeply unpopular Hillary? Worse still, Democrats are defending something like 20 of the 33 Senate seats up for election in 2018. If Hillary wins, 2018 could be a bloodbath of historic proportions.
And yet, if Hillary loses, the Democrats lose their last candidate with any national prominence. Worse, the Bernie Bros come back with a vengeance and likely force the party to nominate someone completely out of the political mainstream. They also likely see Trump replace Kennedy, Scalia and the notorious RBG and push the court decidedly to the right for the next generation.
They are fucked no matter what happens in November.
I wonder how much of it has to do with the guy's lame duck second term. He's shielded voters from taking both barrels of the ACA, the worst of it won't kick in till after he leaves office, and besides that he hasn't really done too much that your average Joey Baggadonuts would notice.
Some of it is that. Some of it is people are loath to dislike the first black President. The Democrats have used the race card to shield Obama from the public holding him accountable for his presidency. I wonder if maybe that has done them more harm than good. Had Obama been a normal President, the public would have directed its ire on him and the rest of the Democratic party only by association. Since the Democrats and the media have bullied and guilted most of the public from directing its ire towards Obama, I think the public has instead directed it at the Democrats in general at every level. I can't vote Obama out of office or express my distaste for him but I can vote some poor bastard Democrat out of Congress or the governor's mansion as a way to vent my frustration.
This is just a guess, but I really wonder if Obama had been subject to the normal criticism every President gets, if the Democrats would not have been brutalized down the ballot as badly as they have been.
And that does contradict my above point that things will be even worse under Hillary for Democrats than they were under Obama. Maybe they wouldn't be. But they would only be better because the public is now free to openly despise a Democratic President. I am not sure that is much of a silver lining.
"Priest Dead, Two Attackers Killed After Assault on Church in Normandy, France"
Islamic State claims responsibility for assault
Two men claiming allegiance to Islamic State killed a priest and gravely injured another person Tuesday during morning Mass at a church in a northern French town"
http://www.wsj.com/articles/on.....1469525653
It looks like they just assassinated a priest during mass.
To get nastier, what do you have to do?
Target nuns and orphans?
I'm sure they had plans for the nuns, but men with guns showed up first.
Why wouldn't they? It makes them look stronger.
The priest was in his 80s.
They slit his throat.
If ISIS wanted to revitalize interest in Christianity among the French, creating modern French martyrs would be a great way to do it.
If two French Catholics or French Jews barged into a mosque and slit the throat of an 80-year old Imam, the media would be bleating Islamophobia.
But you can't talk about the inherent hatred in Jihadi Islam.
That's why you blame air conditioning and climate change instead.
One of the attackers actually tried to get to Syria to join ISIS. Twice. He was convicted, but was walking around with no more restraint than an ankle bracelet. I think ISIS can legitimately claim this one.
Talk about a "known wolf".
Here in the U.S., I suppose we'd charge him with conspiracy to provide material support for terrorism.
Isn't that a Patriot Act thing?
The French convicted him of that.
And then put him back on the streets.
But remember, terrorism is just another crime for the criminal justice system to deal with.
"With thees ankle bracelet, we will know where this criminal is at all times.
"So far he seems to be behaving himself, regarde, he is shopping at a kitchen supply store. A true Frenchman, he only wishes to cook.
"And now, he is going to a church, doubtless to engage in ecumenical dialogue.
"He is obviously reformed, why do we bother monitoring him at all?"
Talk about "catch and release". Ultimately, the globalists governments are as much responsible for this as ISIS, and their agenda is overt -- create the conditions ripe for widespread chaos, providing popular support for a police state and allowing them to eliminate their domestic enemies. A good plan, except that I think their enemies will be running the police state, and the socialists will be up against the wall. And good fucking riddance to them.
LOL "rapid warming in relations" between Turkey and Russia...
Putin: "Hey, so I saw how you cracked down on journalists. I like your style."
