Caitlyn Jenner Urges GOP Tolerance on LGBT Issues
Not happy with parts of the party platform.

At a special event adjacent to, but not exactly at, the Republican National Convention today, Caitlyn Jenner made it clear today that she still sees herself a Republican, but pushed the party to improve its positions on gay and transgender issues.
Jenner (along with talk show host Montel Williams) participated in a "Big Tent Brunch" sponsored by the American Unity Fund. The American Unity Fund is a non-profit group that supports LGBT causes on behalf of friendly conservatives and Republicans. The event today served as pushback against a party platform that seems to have grown more explicitly opposed to accommodating LGBT concerns.
Jenner, of course, was asked to weigh in on transgender issues and the fact that the GOP platform has openly taken a position against transgender accommodation in bathrooms and locker room facilities in public schools as "at once illegal, dangerous, and ignores privacy issues."
Jenner responded that everybody wants "safety in the bathrooms" but pointed out that there are already laws that exist to protect people from being victimized or having their privacy violated while using public facility. The reason this conflict is developing now is because transgender youths are now starting to self-identify earlier. That's leading to new types of bullying and "a terrible suicide rate of young kids." As such, she opposed the kind of legislation passed in North Carolina that requires transgender people to use the public school and government facilities that match the sex listed on birth certificates (private facilities are free to accommodate transgender people as they wish).
"Now the state of North Carolina is gonna come in and bully you, too," she said. She noted that she's been using women's restrooms for the past year and a half and has had no troubles and felt as though states were making new laws for a "non-issue."
The idea of policing who may go in which bathroom may seem inherently absurd and unenforceable, and insight on a lawsuit against a Wisconsin school district shows exactly how bonkers it gets when school officials decide to step in. According to The Daily Beast, the school district stands accused of ordering transgender students to wear bright green wristbands so that officials could observe and enforce making the students either use a single-occupancy restroom or the restroom of the student's birth sex. The family has filed a federal Title IX lawsuit against the school district.
While Milo Yiannopoulos may have been keeping his name in the limelight trying to get gay conservatives on board for Donald Trump, the Log Cabin Republicans, the best-known group for LGBT conservatives, actually put out a full-page ad in USA Today slamming the Republican Party for what they describe as "the most anti-LGBT platform the Republican Party has ever had."

That is one ugly ass woman.
Ugly as home made sin.
And full of testosterone and with a penis. *barf*
Wait, didn't he chop it off?
Nope, he's a wimp.
Or, more charitably, a reality TV star.
Prediction: Within four years, Jenner will transition to Democrat.
Only if the SJW trollwinds shift in that direction.
And back to a guy.
You have a penis,use the men's room
How do you know who has a penis? Did you get those x-ray spex from the back of a 50-year-old comic book?
The operative norm was that if your penis wasn't obvious, no one cared.
It was the SJW who wanted to legislate bathroom behavior.
Ah, so they're the ones who passed the birth certificate law in SC? Those guys are jerks.
No, they're the ones who passed the municipal ordinance legislating bathroom behavior.
The one that was negated by the state law, which also gave the trannies a defense if they were accused of going into the wrong government-owned bathroom.
Try to keep up, Hugh.
NC allows businesses to set their own policies.
For state buildings, they chose a policy of following your birth certificate for multi-person restrooms. They allowed local schools to make other accommodations as well. Those bastards.
No one cared until Charlotte passed an ordinance allowing people to sue if they didn't get to use the bathroom that made them feel pretty.
Transgender people are allowed to change their birth certificate in NC.
See Statute 130A-118:
"A written request from an individual is received by the State Registrar to change the sex on that individual's birth record because of sex reassignment surgery, if the request is accompanied by a notarized statement from the physician who performed the sex reassignment surgery or from a physician licensed to practice medicine who has examined the individual and can certify that the person has undergone sex reassignment surgery."
North Carolina will then issue a new birth certificate.
if the request is accompanied by a notarized statement from the physician who performed the sex reassignment surgery or from a physician licensed to practice medicine who has examined the individual and can certify that the person has undergone sex reassignment surgery.
Oh, sure. Now the crotch police are compelled, by law, to cut off or graft on genitals just so transgendered people can go to the bathroom. Why can't you bigoted conservatives give me between two and three restrooms everywhere I go, labeled according to my preferences *and* social norms and let me whimsically utilize them without regard to any and all signage and without being accosted by anyone else who might be using or otherwise responsible for them while still compelling most everyone else to obey the signage and/or the old social norms?
Is that too much to ask?
The operative norm was that if your penis wasn't obvious or you gave fair warning, no one cared.
Men clean Women's rooms and women clean Men's rooms all the time for centuries and in times even more literally Victorian and Puritanical than our own.
The fact that an idiotically small minority has riled a group of useful idiots to their defense on the issue because they can't figure out how it was done kinda makes me wish their were a populist German running in this election.
You know who else had a penis?
Title IX is just a never-ending gift.
Jenner responded that everybody wants "safety in the bathrooms" but pointed out that there are already laws that exist to protect people from being victimized or having their privacy violated while using public facility.
...
That's leading to new types of bullying and "a terrible suicide rate of young kids."
Penis or not, Men's room or Women's, fuck off Jenner.
You know what other practice strongly correlates to suicide?
Serving as a Japanese naval aviator?
Disobeying you daimyo?
Joining The Peoples Temple?
Listening to Judas Priest?
Jeans off, fucker.
Jenner, of course, was asked to weigh in on transgender issues
*and* the Rio decathlon, right? RIGHT?!
What would a woman know about decathlons?
That's leading to new types of bullying and "a terrible suicide rate of young kids."
Just wait until kids start -- oh, I don't know -- getting a third eye inserted.
"Hey! My eye's up here! Higher!"
Kids already have a third eye, as does everyone. If they worked on opening it they probably wouldn't be so worried about bullying.
Oh, very well. A third *nipple*.
These masturbation euphemisms!
+1 Tool song
Hey guys!
What's going on in this thread?
I wonder how long you can link to different pics/gifs.
I give it took two weeks. By then the Internet will be exhausted of relevant illustrations.
It's been an uphill battle today, hasn't it?
I blame Trumphoria.
Breakfast of Castrati.
"the most anti-LGBT platform the Republican Party has ever had."
And the most pro-LGBT presidential candidate the Republican Party has ever had.
Except maybe for Gaybraham Lincoln.
"the Log Cabin Republicans, the best-known group for LGBT conservatives,"
best known maybe, but impotent
btw, milo and the trump drama together appear to have done more to insert LGBT interests into the repube conversation than the logcabiners have done in decades
I'd urge Bruce Jenner to whack that pee pee if he's to be a woman. Come on Jenner, stop being such a wuss and hypocrite, cut off that pee pee live on the teevee!
Well since he still apparently likes to have sex with women that would be awkward.
Of course, this also means that this guy is basically making the age old argument of 'I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body'.
Seek therapy Bruce.
Seek therapy Bruce.
Xe has.
Hormone therapy.
I didn't know the pee pee was still hanging on. Yes, BYODB, he really does need therapy. Instead, he's hailed as a hero and put on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
You got a fucking problem bro? Cause it's not "Bruce" fucking Jenner, it's Caitlyn, and she's a fucking stunning woman! /PCPrinciple
meh
That's some kinda crazy WWE reference, right. Crazy Japanese manager that was going to emasculate Val Venis, IIRC.
I searched the platform for "bathroom" and got zero hits.
From p. 35 - "Their edict to the states concerning restrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities is at once illegal, dangerous, and ignores privacy issues. We salute the several states which have filed suit against it."
I think "their" = Obama and bureaucrats
The state law allows businesses to set any bathroom policy they like.
The city ordinance set specific policies.
Which one is more liberal?
This is the crux of the issue:
This is true for both sides. The conservatives want to somehow inspect everyone for the presence of a penis before letting them use a public restroom. The SJWs want to do the opposite: use force to compel people into allowing a guy into the women's locker room.
This whole shitstorm is the fault of the SJWs and their irrational expansion of the LGBTWTF "agenda" at the expense of common sense.
The conservatives want to somehow inspect everyone for the presence of a penis before letting them use a public restroom.
[citation needed]
Like the "People are scared of trannies in bathrooms" argument, the "everyone will be genitally inspected upon entering a bathroom" is pure bullshit.
People are more worried about pervy men in bathrooms, abusing the "tolerance" for trannies, not trannies themselves.
Right now, you aren't supposed to enter the other bathroom. Any "anti-tranny" laws on this are basically preserving the status quo where nobody is genitally inspected, so why they suddenly create a mandate for genital inspection is less than clear. The horrible, awful, bigoted NC statute actually provides a defense to a "real" tranny if there is a complaint - it allows them to show a birth certificate to refute the claim they were in the wrong bathroom.
This topic, for some reason, brings out the stupid and the dishonest in a big way.
Come on guys, I was being a bit facetious. Conservatives, reacting to the SJW bullshit, passed laws about using the bathroom that matches your birth certificate. The only way to know if that is true is to do an inspection, which of course isn't going to happen.
Before all this happened, people got along just fine. Trannies used the women's restroom and no one knew.
The only way to know if that is true is to do an inspection, which of course isn't going to happen.
The NC law says the birth certificate needs to match the government bathroom you use.
No genital inspection required.
Geez, I was never actually thinking that there were going to be actual genital inspections! It was a hypothetical, but I guess I didn't make that clear.
If Caitlyn Jenner used the women's room in NC, he would be in violation of the law. But how would anyone know to complain that he was in there? None of it makes sense and it's just fucked up mess of social signalling.
I was never actually thinking that there were going to be actual genital inspections
Then you shouldn't have said so. Twice.
What part of "which of course isn't going to happen" do you not understand?
Your 5:11 post contains no such disclaimer.
Your 5:37 post contains the disclaimer, but my following post was directed at your repetition of the error that matching certificates with bathrooms requires a genital inspection.
The only way to know if that is true is to do an inspection, which of course isn't going to happen.
This assumes that the explanations "I own this place." or "It's my job." or even "I don't like your face." are somehow insufficient cause for ejecting someone from a restroom.
If Trannies were having trouble finding a restroom in the entire city of Charlotte, this might be an issue. If Trannies couldn't pee in any publicly-owned building in Charlotte, there's no real issue, but there's a portion of a principled argument to be had. As it is, Trannies can walk into just about any restroom they like in Charlotte and, even in publicly-owned restrooms Men can be ejected from the Men's room and Women can be ejected from the Women's room for relatively arbitrary reasons.
Nobody has seriously proposed policing restrooms in a manner greater or more whimsical than they aren't already policed.
Oh I agree with you that the use of privately owned restrooms should be purely at the whim and discretion of the owner. I think NC's law only applies to restrooms in state buildings, is that true?
And the law is completely unnecessary because there was no problem at all until SJWs made one up out of thin air. The issue is, when you pass laws about birth certificates and restrooms, it invites absurdist legal wrangling and people talking about inspections. That's what I was getting at.
The issue is, when you pass laws about birth certificates and restrooms, it invites absurdist legal wrangling and people talking about inspections. That's what I was getting at.
The NC law only applies to State-owned restrooms. What all that entails (e.g. Private Schools/Universities that receive state monies? Private institutions honoring state contracts or requiring licensing from the state?) I'm not certain.
They only had to backstop with legal documentation (birth certificates) because "I don't like your face." or "You really stink." in either the public or private situation suddenly became insufficient or irrelevant, for *some* people, in light of Charlotte's law. Absurdist legal wrangling was already invited. What you're proposing doesn't really conform to LP principles except in an absurdly extreme fashion; where raising your hands to defend yourself after you've been punched might, somehow, be considered a violation of the NAP and writing any law is always a violation of liberty.
Stupidity and dishonesty gets people's SJW boners throbbing.
No, the conservatives want to protect businesses from getting sued by SJWs.
"Now the state of North Carolina is gonna come in and bully you, too," she said. She noted that she's been using women's restrooms for the past year and a half and has had no troubles and felt as though states were making new laws for a "non-issue."
For private facilities, the State of North Carolina is telling the local municipalities not to bully anyone, and is not bullying anyone itself. In NC, it wasn't the state who made new laws for a non-issue, it was the City that tried to cram down bathroom diktats. The state responded by restoring the status quo ante for private businesses, which Jenner says is the right thing, but somehow the state doing the right thing is bullying?
The only place you might be "bullied" by the State of NC is in a government-owned bathroom, and the only bullying they are doing is asking you to get a state document certifying that you are trans. Why a state document to certify you are trans is bullying, but one that certifies you are married is not, is an exercise for the reader.
She noted that she's been using women's restrooms for the past year and a half and has had no troubles and felt as though states were making new laws for a "non-issue.
It was pretty much a non-issue before Obama stuck his long nose in it.
It's a classic Republican wedge issue, come on. Every person on this thread bitching about the problem of trans people using the restroom is a moron and a tool and a victim of their stupid election-year distractions. That would be a distraction from the fact that they don't have any ideas about anything real, rendering it necessary to rile up the cousin-fuckers who are scared shitless, like little baby girls, of any slight deviation from the cultural norms they're accustomed to.
How clever of those Republicans, to somehow induce people who loathe their very being to create a wedge issue on their behalf.
Diabolical, really.
But where do the cousin-fuckers get to piss? The family bathroom, the men's room, the women's room, or the handicapped room?
OT: I've decided to name my penis "The Party Platform."
If your penis resembles a "party platform," you may want to go to the doctor to get the crush injury fixed.
You only intend to bring out your penis every four years, and ignore it the rest of the time?
Since we're allowed to choose our own gender, names, and sexuality these days I propose the following:
A) My new gender is "Better than a stupid trannie".
B) My new name is "God".
C) My new sexuality is I shall only fuck goats, prostitutes, and siblings.
Interestingly enough, I'm pretty sure one of those things is still illegal although I'd imagine it could be tough to get one of the other one's without the governments seal of approval.
Who is next on the sexual wheel of fortune to gain victim status? Does pansexual include anything that hooves into vision, including things with hooves? Can you have sex with a person that you paid for the act, or does this transform it from a voluntary transaction? What about your brother/sister/otherkin who uses birth control? What is the downside there that demands enforcement of law?
Who knows, but also who cares?
(Oh god, I think I was channeling the judge at the end?!?)
Typical. Republicans only seem to find empathy once they or a loved one are cast as part of the 'icky' group.
The idea of policing who may go in which bathroom may seem inherently absurd and unenforceable, and insight on a lawsuit against a Wisconsin school district shows exactly how bonkers it gets when school officials decide to step in.
it is ENTIRELY absurd and there are people right here on these boards that call themselves libertarians who don't seem to realize that the Obama administration has called out Transgender people specifically as being able to use the bathroom of their choice, but not us regular cisgendered types.
I spent some time reading through the Obama administration's Title IX guidelines. They spend a lot of time defining who is and who isn't transgender.
I will say it loud and clear so no one misunderstands, I'm against these laws because we're turning something that wasn't a problem into a problem, and transgender people are going to end up with their proverbial pink star of David, and the left will call this progress.
The idea of policing who may go in which bathroom may seem inherently absurd and unenforceable,
Since this has been the status quo since the invention of sex-specific bathrooms, I have no idea why its inherently absurd and unenforcable.
I take the quote on its face. We've had (mostly) sex-specific bathrooms since lord-knows-when and transgender people were generally using the bathroom of their choice without issue-- and no, the rare exceptions don't obliterate the pattern.
What happened is very suddenly, the definition of transgender broadened to mean anyone who feels like they're not what their biology is and so *bam* we need laws to protect them. But the point is, protect them. Which means that if they're legally singled out to use the bathroom of their choice, someone, somewhere is going to have to create a metric to identify who 'them' is, and it's already happening, and it creeps me out.
I pointed out in a previous thread that I remember transgender (which used to be called transsexual) as far back as the 70s, and no one anywhere ever denied them the use of the facility of their choice. When Bob became Diane, everyone shrugged and might have whispered "Hey, did you know Diane used to be a man?", but it never crossed anyone's mind that Diane would be forced to use the men's room. But again, that transgender/sexual person had been through months or years of hormone therapy and surgery. Basically, they were Caitlyn Jenner.
I'd be perfectly happy if the government threw up their hands and declared all bathrooms unisex, but that's not what's happening. They're specifically saying that all bathrooms remain sex-specific, except for transgender people-- and the new, super-broad, grotesquely evolved (thanks, Sugarfree) definition of transgender.
I'd be perfectly happy if the government threw up their hands and declared all bathrooms unisex,
Government-owned bathrooms? Maybe.
Privately-owned bathrooms? None of the government's business.
Your point should be better understood, though, re: "qualifying" as transgender.
If we are going to create special privileges for an identified group, we have to be able to determine who is a member of that group. The LGBT activists are actually pushing for government databases of transsexuals. In the name of freedom and tolerance.
Like I said, this issue brings out the stupid and dishonest in a big way.
Ah, but transgender is how you feel, and transsexual is a commitment.
Translation: "Use the government's force, Luke!"
Public Accommodation: The excuse used by the enemies of private property to steal from others with impunity.
Caitlyn Jenner made it clear today that she still sees herself a Republican
Well, Bruce also says he's a lady, which is a crock of shit. So why should I care that he says he's a Republican? If he says he's a Martian tomorrow, are we supposed to believe that also?
Translation: Private business owners are naturally incapable of enforcing rules they themselves set up inside their own fucking private property.
No?
"The power of Public Accommodation laws compels you!"
"The power of Public Accommodation laws compels you!"
"The power of Public Accommodation laws compels YOU!"
Scott is merely engaging in obfuscation. Of course a private business owner can perfectly regulate who goes into the fucking restroom he or she BUILT for his or her CUSTOMERS. Not anyone else - CUSTOMERS. What hobbles them is this legal fiction by which the State takes over people's private property rights for daring - daring, I tell you! - open a business.
*applause*
Dude dick in a dude butt is succinctly feasible strictly within the flimsy thought ghetto that is the madness of socialist charlatans. Dude dick in a dude butt is just fucking wrong if the dick in the dude's butt is, well, a Trumpalicious sort of veiny pipe ninja.
Gay is ejaculation cool ONLY if you don't live across the goddamn tracks from a fucking progressive dork town.
Fucking people with dicks and vaginas should be fucking any the goddamn person they want to in motherfucking peace in any number however small, large, contained, or imagined.
FUCK OFF OUR SEX, YOU MOTHERFUCKING WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Porn stars should, nay, WILL be using condoms. Inspectors inbound.
Sweetie, the condom conundrum violently imposed by Sharia-styled feminists and Christians is nothing more than a translucent and blatant attempt to bring the morality hammer bloodily smashing into the temple of a worldly adult society that should fucking operate freely in the goddamn soaring world where life is about respect, love, intelligence, and get the fucking loser handcuffs and bullets off my gentle business.
Please wash your hands before returning to work.
Also, in some parts of the country, This [private property] is a gun-free zone.
It is interesting how some people say the first not support public accommodation laws but loathe any attempt to effectively counter them.
Just what I need: political advice from a chromosome-science denier with a castration fetish.
chromosome-science denier
Nice.
It's mom calls it Bruce, so it's Bruce to me. Can't turn an X into a Y.
If you cave on that one, you're headed down the road of being forced to accept the validity of 60 different genders to be logically consistent.
He can change his name, people do that all the time, but he can't change his chromosomes.
and what, pray tell, is meant by accommodation? More public accommodation laws? More hate crime laws? More "discrimination" protections? More gender fluid fingers in someone else's cookie jar? Fuck them, the force of law need not accommodate any of them more than me or anyone else.
^^Yes.
True libertarians understand that one must jettison their principles if they want the be invited to the cool kids' parties.
Most anti-LGBT platform the GOP has ever had?
That REALLY hard to believe
We can even create playlists of them so it will be very easy to find our videos which we like. We can also download those videos and can watch them offline. Showbox for pc
