Bradenton, Florida, police officer Cordario Pruitt resigned after an internal investigation sustained two counts of conduct unbecoming an officer and dereliction of duty against him. After responding to a complaint of a violation of a domestic non-contact order, Pruitt did not file paperwork on the incident. But he did return to ask the victim out.

According to the IA report, Pruitt failed to turn in initial report paperwork, including a capias request, until Jan. 14. The 23-day delay in filing a capias request resulted in the victim enduring continuous harassment from her ex-boyfriend.

So he delayed filing his report until he could include her answer to his offer of a date. What's wrong with that? He should be commended for his devotion to thorough paperwork.

Not uncommon, from what I understand. And sometimes initiated by the victim (perhaps as an intended consequence of her calling 911). The thing that really weirds me out is that some women go out on dates with po-po who have just ticketed them and that sometimes they (the ticketed) initiate those dates.
