Philly's Rep. Chaka Fattah First Incumbent to Lose Primary in 2016 Cycle
It was worth registering Democrat just to be part of getting rid of him.

Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-PA2) became the first member of Congress this election cycle to lose a primary. The embattled Fattah was indicted on bribery and money laundering charges in 2015 related to his failed mayoral bid in 2007.
Fattah is an 11-term congressman and has never faced a primary challenger before. He represents portions of Philadelphia and nearby Montgomery County and the district is predominantly Democratic.
I voted in Pennsylvania's Democratic primary (you can see my ballot here—Hillary Clinton is still the worst but Sanders is an unreformed socialist and the cult around him is disturbing). I voted for State Rep. Dwight Evans, who defeated Fattah, not so much because he was less odious than the other two Democrats but because the local ward leader told me he had the best chance of beating Fattah.
After the New York primary, some Bernie Sanders supporters complained that they couldn't vote for him because they weren't registered Democrats. Particularly in single-party districts, that's a questionable decision. Low participation in such primary elections contributes to an environment where someone like Fattah can hold on to power for decades.
No one should have to register for any party, but if you're someone who would be attracted to Bernie Sanders in the first place the Democratic party is not as ill a fit as your desire for "independent" credentials would suggest. There's little to nothing about the Democratic party that I find attractive, but I registered as a Democrat when I moved to Philly so that I could have some say in the people who pretend to represent me. One vote, of course, doesn't count, but in the aggregate it can get rid of a crook like Fattah long past his expiration date. Evans may not turn out better, but it's a start.

Chaka, Chaka gone.
Chaka, when the walls fell.
I feel for him
Still the best Star Trek episode.
This was my greatest missed alt-text opportunity.
Prince has a sad.
So I don't have to study his language any more?
Alternate Joke: He was my kind of scum.
You apparently misapprehend the concept of "joke." It actually has something to do with "humor."
And YOU misunderestimate him!
Hitlery Kkklinton?
You don't have to vote in every race on the ballot, Ed.
I only voted in the contested ones!
No, but he voted correctly.
I didn't figure out at first that Ed voted for Clinton. Sad. I still think that voting for Hillary Clinton is immoral. And Ed has no excuse of not following the politics or voting with his vagina.
What is immoral about strategic voting? It's a closed primary in a state Dems are going to win anyway. Voting or not voting, it's going to go to Hillary in 2016.
Time for some Metallica...are you ready to ROCK?

"We're afraid Beyonc? cancelled at the last minute, so we found a replacement."
This is actually very wise. It is very pragmatic to be trying to improve the party that will likely sweep to power (again) in November.
Trump is going to win with more than 40 states
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAH
Have fun being the but of jokes for the next half-century.
Baby steps to liberty. If that is what it takes. The socialists were patient. It has taken them more than 8 decades to roll us all down their road to serfdom.
And, no, the DT will not win against Hillinator.
Oh cool someone else who isn't retarded/psychotic. We can form a band in this wasteland of retards who think that DT is electable, or somehow better than Hillary.
For that matter, what is up with the intensity of hate for Hillary? Yeah she's scum duh. But does she really stand out all that much except in visibility?
We would always close with Lawyers, Guns and Money. I think the Hilldog hate has been brewing for a long while and she does deserve a great deal of it. She is going to win unfortunately but hopefully there will be enough gridlock because of it to stall most of what she has her mind on.
HRC gets the hate not only for her "interest-group liberal" statism, but because if she hadn't married Bill, and had stayed in DC moving up the staff-lawyer chain in Congress and the bureaucracy, or moved back to suburban Cook County, IL, it is highly unlikely she'd ever have been elected to anything. Maybe school board. She has "presidential spouse privilege." She's Lurlene Wallace, not Ella Grasso.
I think Trump could get a lot of traction by running on "Why elect the puppet when you can elect the puppeteer?" and play up how much Clinton owes him.
Just because the slow road worked for socialists doesn't mean it will work for us. What we are doing is fundamentally different from them. Indeed, it's a fact that reform-minded governments achieve the vast majority of what they want to do in the first 100 days.
I think there always has to be a vanguard that really calls for a serious turn to liberty. The most important things that libertarians can do is to influence and create and sway the culture. In politics we have to take any small gains and then look for the next ones. In popular culture we have to create compelling stories, however those stories are expressed. That is the place to shoot for the fences.

Wow. Whatever it is, I don't want any part of it either, lady. Sounds disgusting.

So a D has to be indicted before s/he is unseated?
That says bad things about the voters or the Rs.
Philly was actually a Republican city until the black migration to the north. Now their black D turnout decides statewide elections. There are some state House districts where registered Republicans are very low four figures.
What the author didn't mention that an indicted state representative, Vanessa Brown, won her primary. And she's part of a corrupt group that every other member already pleaded guilty and resigned. She'll be found guilty this fall and won't even be able to take the oath of office in January, yet the dingbats voted her back in.
It took prison to get Leland Yee out of the CA State Assembly?
Ed is my new favorite writer at reason. I guess he has been for a while, now. Is Krayewski polish?
OT: For the last two months me and my buddy have been going downtown to the Wybkoop and Tarantulas, playing on the 9 foot Brunswicks. Monday,we went to BCs, which only has the 6 foot bar tables.
In... wait for it.... sane.
Third game I won with a 4 rail 8 ball shot.
Question: when did Cytotoxic become such a smug ass? Did I miss something?
I've seen people say that he is a teenager. Is that true?
That would make sense.
He's a fascist who wants Top Men rule the populace. He's always been like that. Any connections to libertarians are completely superficial.
Well we have one thing Reason and the CPUSA can agree on. The Libertarian Moment is certainly upon us!
So is Hillary's support for $15 minimum and the fact that she is a lying crook prove that she is a stealth libertarian?
What the hell is the actual subject of this little essay?
I bought brand new white Ferrari by working ONline work. five month ago i hear from my friend that she is working some online job and making more then $85/hr i can't beleive. But when i start this job i have to believed her Now i am also making 85$/hr if you want to try. Check Here.......JU03

Rule of thumb: ALWAYS vote for the candidate most likely to be indicted. The more monkey wrenches thrown into the gears, the better.
I think Illinois has been trying this strategy with unfavorable results.
Dude seems to know which way is up lol.

There is no way that a single vote determines the outcome of an election.
However, it does express a scintilla of support to a candidate.
By voting for Clinton, you expressed a scintilla of support to one of the most corrupt, vicious, contemptible political hacks in American history. It is no more libertarian to vote for a fascist over a democratic socialist than vice versa.
Still, a Hillary vote makes no difference: she is so rotten that doesn't give a damn what anybody thinks anyway, and could not care less about popular support so long as she achieves her victory.
