Former Alabama state trooper Samuel McHenry II has been sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty to sexual misconduct. After responding to a report of a car accident, McHenry handcuffed a woman involved in the accident, put her in the backseat of his car, and told her if she didn't have sex with him he would arrest her. After forcing her to have sex with and perform oral sex on him, McHenry dropped the woman off at a closed store.

But yeah, pretty depressing that a crime like this only results in a 6 month jail sentence...though better than nothing, I guess.

It seems like they always pile on the charges for the peons and then force them to take a plea. I find it hard to believe they couldn't have nailed this guy to the wall if they had wanted to.

No kidnapping? Menacing? A thousand other things under color of law? I don't know what all the possible charges are but there are bound to be a hundred of them.

In my opinion the single biggest improvement we could make to tangibly improve the lives of everyday citizens would be to get rid of public employee unions, starting with the cops.

Asset seizure has at least gained some traction. FL just passed a major overhaul. Not sure if the governor signed it since the lege and the governor hate each other.

A recent case just completed?.Daniel Holtzclaw?exemplifies just how rancid US policing can be. Holtzclaw was a sexual assault machine. But don't worry, he was just one a a few "bad apples".
