Yesterday on Facebook, celebrity Second Amendment fan Ted Nugent posted photos of a dozen gun control supporters, all of them Jews, as indicated by the little Israeli flags over their faces. The headline: "So who is really behind gun control?" The captions on some of the photos mention additional offenses, such as "ISRAEL FIRSTER" (Alan Dershowitz), "gave Russian Jew immigrants your tax money" (Frank Lautenberg), "served in Israel's army during Gulf War" (Rahm Emanuel), and "Nanny State troublemaker and 911 Israeli agent" (Michael Bloomberg). According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the grid of 12 anti-gun Jews "was apparently not created by Nugent, but has appeared in the past on anti-Semitic web sites" (such as this one). The bow-hunting rock 'n' roller added this commentary:
Know these punks. They hate freedom, they hate good over evil, they would deny us the basic human right to self defense & to KEEP & BEAR ARMS while many of them have tax paid hired ARMED security! Know them well. Tell every1 you know how evil they are. Let us raise maximum hell to shut them down!
In response to the predictable flood of criticism from both supporters and opponents of gun control, Nugent professed to be utterly flabbergasted that anyone thought the array of gun-controlling Jews was anti-Semitic. His point, he insists, was that Bloomberg et al. are betraying their own people by seeking to disarm them:
Just when you hope that mankind couldnt possibly get any dumber or more dishonest, superFreaks rise to the occasion. What sort of racist prejudiced POS could possibly not know that Jews for guncontrol are nazis in disguise? "NEVER AGAIN!" Anyone? Anyone?? RUFKM! The founder of Jews For the Preservation of Firearms Ownership called me his 2nd Amendment/Freedom hero. The NEVER AGAIN battlecry was universally embraced by all good people who will make sure another Holocaust never happens again. Freaks have plummeted to whole new low. Plummet on punks. Plummet on. Meanwhile I adjust my yamika at my barmitzva playing my kosher guitar. My dad killed nazis & saved Jews in WWII. Eat me.
Nugent followed that up with a photo of Nazis rounding up Jews whom he identified as "soulless sheep to slaughter." Or as he put it in a separate comment: "NEVER AGAIN mthrfkrs!"
Ted Nugent has a long history of being an equal opportunity offender. But his latest share on Facebook, making the outrageous suggestion that Jews are behind gun control, is nothing short of conspiratorial anti-Semitism. Regardless of one's views on gun control, this kind of scapegoating of an entire religious group is completely unacceptable and completely divorced from reality.
It should go without saying that anti-Semitism has no place in the gun control debate. Nugent should be ashamed for promoting anti-Semitic content, and we hope that good people on both sides of the gun control debate will reject his tactics and his message. We hope that Nugent will have the good sense to remove this share immediately so that it does not spread virally across the internet.
Former Klansman David Duke sprang to Nugent's defense, noting that the ADL supports gun control. "If Jews have a problem with the truth," Duke wrote, "then the truth is…AntiSemitic!" While some of Nugent's defenders claimed they perceived no anti-Semitism in the original post, others seemed to especially like that aspect of it.

It seems to me a lot of the Jews in favor of gun control are American Jews. I've seen pictures of Israeli Jews and a lot of them are carrying those big scary assault weapons with the multi-clip cartridges and the thing in the front that goes up. Ted may very well be anti-Semitic but some of the loudest anti-Zionists are American Jews and any Jew in favor of only the government having guns is a special kind of idiot. Kinda like the "Blame America First"ers, they bend so far over backwards to prove they're not bigoted that their head goes straight up their ass.
Pope Jimbo would laugh about somebody making fun of a Jew. Always count on a mackerel snapper who worships a guy in a dress and embroidered silk slippers to be blind to irony. Jesus was a Jew, you know - an immigrant Jew to boot. (And remember Jesus said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone", good tactical advice because the pure of heart aim true and hit hard and those are the ones you want on the front lines when you start throwing rocks. Today, of course, he would say "Let he who has the steadiest aim fire the first shot.". Same concept.)
But there ARE none who are "without sin" or "pure of heart", there are only some who approach such a state, only a tiny wee tad... Then, there are those who THINK that they are already there, and THOSE are the ones who we have to look out for the most! Because they WILL throw those stones, often with good aim, but they are entirely too willing to throw them out if imagined insults to their pride... Especially their pride of having figured out just EXACTLY the "One Right Way" to kiss God's ass... Last time I checked, God doesn't want us to kiss His Ass, he wants us to try and get along with one another...
I'm very rarely serious. (I'm also what they call a lapsed Catholic - I gave up on religion about the time they dropped the Latin Mass and started getting hip and cool and with-it to attract the younger crowd and it kinda made me question just how eternal the eternal verities might be if you have to change them every so often to sell 'em like a bag of potato chips. I was about 8 at the time.)
Last time I checked, God said anybody claiming to know what he wanted was a damned fool. Literally damned. Like it's the first of his commandments - I'm God, you're not, shut the hell up. And that's when I stopped checking to see if I could figure out what God wants. God wants you to stop telling other people what God wants. And a burnt lamb would be nice. Easy on the sumac, there, Achmed, that shit gives me heartburn.
Cool, Bro! Burnt pig would be good as well, at least in my opinion... If it pisses off certain hide-bound rule-followers, so much the better!
I do suspect there is SOME value to "trying to figure out what God wants", though, and I say that with all due respects to atheists and agnostics. I've not personally had those kinds of in-person arguments since late, late nights "wasted" (in several ways!) in college. I was an agnostic at the time... Anyway, were I to repeat those kinds of arguments, were an atheist to take offense at my use of the term "God", I would ask him or her, "Why don't you commit suicide?", and then hasten to add, I do NOT advocate that ANYONE does that; I happen to think that is just about the ONE worst thing one can do with one's life. But the answer from atheist dude or dudette is what I am after: "I don't do that, because my friends and family would miss me"... "Because I enjoy life"... "Because I've got things I want to get done in my life"... And so on. My reply to atheist, then, is simply, "OK, I agree with you on ALL of those things. And those things all together is what I call "God". You are just using different words than I am, and so, we really have no disagreement that amounts to a hill of beans".
What I did want to say, though, is that "God" (however defined, see above) is probably happier with (alternately stated, more humans are happier in their lives here) if we "hear" God telling us to "get along with one another" than "Go ye and burn all the heretics" (or other flavors of ideological idiocy).
To be fair, I laugh at a lot of shit that no one else finds funny. Cripples, mentally challenged and evangelicals.
And it isn't a dress that I wear. It is more of a mumu. And I'd go barefoot if fucking Denny's wasn't so fucking uptight about serving someone with no shoes.
You mean on what fraction of Jews support gun control? Probably. My guess is that a healthy majority of Jews support gun control because a healthy majority of Jews support liberal/progressive policies in general.
But so what?. *Who* is against gun control isn't relevant to whether gun control is a good or bad idea. But then the goal of this graphic isn't to stir up opposition to gun control, it's to use gun control to stir up opposition to Jews.
One would think that Holocaust survivors and their children should be some of the most anti-gun-control people there are, unless they are so delusional that they think gun control laws would have prevented the Nazi rise to power. (Hint: the Nazi gun control laws were *German* gun control laws before the Nazi rise to power.)
Thus I think Jews in favor of gun control are some of the more insane and/or delusional and/or ignorant hoplophobes, and that its is relevant.
OK, I stand corrected. It's relevant if your* goal is to identify others that are especially worthy of derision in the culture war. Or if your* goal is to find things to pile on a group you* already are against.
*You(r) in the general sense, not in the specific sense
Myself and many of my Jewish friends are gun owners. I've thought about this for a while and I think the biggest reason many Jews are pro gun control is geography.
Most Jews live in urban areas and live in leftist states. People in general in those areas tend to be more for gun control. Jews living outside of those areas tend to have more mainstream views on guns.
Being Jewish isn't relevant to their stance on gun control? There was the Holocaust, you know. If anybody has little to no excuse for supporting the idea of a disarmed citizenry, it's the Jews.
Exactly! The question is not whether the people he cites being behind gun control are Jewish, the question is: What does that have to do with Judaism per se? Why single out Jews rather than Catholics, Protestants or Atheists (my people)?
In my experience, those who use the noun form also tend to quote from the Protocols of the Elders, or have at least read them. Word choice is a social signal, and this certainly is an example.
Sort of like if someone were to refer to Arabic immigrants as Arab immigrants. Unsophisticated, but it doesn't automatically indicate an underlying belief that they all have horns and control the world.
Not to sound like Woody Allen, but a youtube of Bernie on SNL caused me to like the guy. I'd never vote for him or anyone in the Dem or GOP, but what of it?
Nugent clearly doesn't understand the irony that when he talks like this, all he's doing is reinforcing the already existing deep paranoia among leftist secular Jews that the goyims are all out to get them, and that the only way they can be safe and prevent another Shoah is by disarming the rest of the population. He probably just earned Hillary and Mike Bloomberg millions more in donations.
So you are saying that leftist secular Jews already think the goyim are out to get them.
Yes, they do, for a variety of historical reasons, many of which are absolutely legitimate by the way.
As rational people, we of course know that it's ridiculous and there's not going to be another Holocaust, but the biggest reason why the overwhelming majority of Jews are secular leftists is because they perceive that Christian conservatives are their natural enemy. They very much still have the feeling of being a persecuted, at-risk minority.
And when guys like Nugent imply that gun controllers are all or mostly Jews, the politicians who are masters are taking advantage of and manipulating these fears will point to him and say "See? This right wing Christian gun nut hates you and probably wants to kill you. Give us more money and eventually we'll take his guns away."
Not in the US. But in other places, yeah, quite possible. Of course, danger spots are much less Jew-rich than they were in, say, 1936, but I could absolutely see the return of pogroms in many places in Europe.
Bash the US all you want you America-hater, but I think we could get another good Holocaust worked up if we put our minds to it. I don't think there's anything unique to the Germans that they're the only ones capable of producing a high-quality Holocaust - anything they can do we can do better.
If they think we're out to get them, then we may as well be out to get them. After all, they're now fighting against us in defense, so we have to defend against their defense.
I think Nugent messed up. He may have *thought* those images had the meaning he imputes to them, but their actual message seems to be that Jews are bad people who are promoting gun control.
Yup. Probably didn't read the whole meme, stopped at "gun control," and didn't realize it was insanely anti-semitic. Then when called on it, tried to come up with a justification instead of admitting he was an idiot.
Absolutely. Self-defense is one of the fundamental and basic human rights there is. The only reason why you would want to permanently disarm someone who has done nothing wrong is because you want to oppress him.
It's a stupid term. The people to whom it's usually applied aren't self-hating- quite the opposite, they think very highly of themselves. It's all those *other* Jews...
On that score, they have observed correctly. Right has everything to do with zealotry and nothing to so with belief in free-market economics, though feigning such belief is a handy way of riding on Republican coattails.
I don't know, I see a lot of confused and sloppy thinking, and that hits me before any anti-Semitism.
So, one problem is that whenever someone says that Israel has too much influence on US policy they get labeled an anti-Semite. Doubly so if they dare to imply that Jewish people who feel strongly about Israel are biased towards pro-Israel policies at the cost of US interest. You can say that about Cubans all day, but Jews are untouchable because of the Holocaust. Not saying I agree, just saying there's a double-standard.
What that has to do with their stances on gun control is a mystery to me. I see a bunch of leftists and statists, both of whom absolutely hate the idea of an armed citizenry, which is more relevant. The bigotry implied does not override the fact that the gun control policies the people pictured advocate is a travesty and should be resisted at all costs. And anyone who feels otherwise should immediately stop using and paying for the interstate highway system.
If you don't want government to do *something*, then you don't want government to do *anything*. That or you are a total hypocrite for supporting one action of government but not another.
I'd be surprised if Ted were anti-Semitic. The concept that gun control contributed greatly to the Holocaust is well known in conservative circles*. If a conservative says, "this guy is anti-gun and Jewish" he's assuming that you realize how stupid that is given what the Nazis did.
That being said, all those who don't know that will use this as "proof" of how hateful conservatives are. Also, the way Ted presented this is all kinds of stupid, but not actually incorrect.
*I have some expertise in standing in the mind of conservatives, as I used to be one.
The Nazis had bad intentions, so when they imposed gun control it was bad. Our rulers have good intentions, so that makes gun control here a good thing. See? Intentions are magic.
What difference does it make what Nugent intended? If he managed to hand the gun grabbers a bunch of ammunition they wouldn't have otherwise, then he made a mistake.
If Nugent really had intended anti-semitism, he's the kind of person that wouldn't have denied it when confronted, but that's hardly the point. The point is that the gun grabbers will use this to discredit Nugent, everything he's ever said in the past, and everyone else who cares about gun rights, now or in the future.
We're all a bunch of Nugent level anti-Semites--I can hear the progressives say--and in their world, the rights of racists shouldn't be respected.
I think they are misguided. The problem is that many believe in 'mental illness' which is a religion that supplanted Judaism - "Unlike what it says in the Bible, we are not sinners. People are born good and if they do something bad (like shoot up a classroom) it's because they have 'mental illness' or were 'radicalized' by an 'extremist cleric.'" Gun control then becomes the obvious solution for how to prevent violence. It's understandable but like I said, it's very misguided. Here's an exegesis by Pete Davidson on SNL:
A search for "socialist translator" turns up half a thousand hits including scads of jew-baiting National Socialist bunds complaining bitterly that Mein Kampf was incorrectly translated so as to cast their martyr in a bad light. All of the musicians I know in Austin wish Ted Nugent would either get a burr haircut or move to Oklahoma. But the point here is that there is no shortage of actual nationalsocialist ideologues today loudly arguing for altruistic religious eugenics laws.
The technology is so developed that we can watch videos, live streaming, TV serials and any of our missed programs within our mobiles and PCs. Showbox
All we need is a mobile or PC with a very good internet connection. There are many applications by which we can enjoy videos, our missed programs, live streaming etc.
I highly doubt that Terrible Ted (I don't eat nothin unless I killed it with my bare hands) Nugent knows what "ashamed" means.
I personally do 'fess up, I have eaten carrots, lettuce, etc., that I did NOT kill with my bare hands... And yes, I am ashamed...
Terrible Ted probably has tenuous grasp on 'Jewish' as well (show Ted a Sikh, tell Ted its a rabbi, Ted nods vigorously in agreement).
Shame is nothing to be proud of.
Who the fuck takes Ted Nugent seriously?
You mean 'Wang Dang Sweet Poontang' isn't a love song?
Nobody takes Ted seriously, except professional scolds and concern trolls.
So... I am confused... I got it that Ted is against gun control... But... Is Ted N. saying he for, or against, Jew control?
Ted is against people who are in favor of gun control. Some of those people are Jewish.
He's not the most articulate guy in the world, you know.
If coherence gets in his way, baby, you know he'll burn it down.
Well good thing he has symbols like little Israeli flags to help him.
It seems to me a lot of the Jews in favor of gun control are American Jews. I've seen pictures of Israeli Jews and a lot of them are carrying those big scary assault weapons with the multi-clip cartridges and the thing in the front that goes up. Kinda like the "Blame America First"ers, they bend so far over backwards to prove they're not bigoted that their head goes straight up their ass.
Israeli Jews understand the folly of being disarmed in the presence of people who want to kill you.
This. I think Ted is more accurately described as anti-anti-Zionist.
Sorry, but anybody who uses 'Jew' as an adjective ("Jew immigrants") is signalling something, and it ain't friendly to me or my kin.
Calm down, Jewy.
*snort*
Although, maybe "Lighten up Francis Jewy" would have been slightly better. But I LOL'd
Lighten up, Shmuley.
Simmer down, Jewbacca.

I'm not sure how serious you are here...
But there ARE none who are "without sin" or "pure of heart", there are only some who approach such a state, only a tiny wee tad... The Catholic Church is the modern version of the money changing temple.

So if they are Jews and are immigrants, what should they be called?
Hebe Invaders.
Jewicans.
Kikesters.
Jewiners
The point is that being Jewish and/or an immigrant isn't relevant to their stance on gun control.
Is there polling data on this?
You mean on what fraction of Jews support gun control? Probably. My guess is that a healthy majority of Jews support gun control because a healthy majority of Jews support liberal/progressive policies in general.

Einstein was a pacifist who tried to assimilate into German culture.
When that proved incorrect, he became a Zionist. It was based on the observation that he didn't get to pick which team he was on.
The obvious point is that Feinstein et al didn't get the memo.
Hebrew gun owner here.

Exactly! The question is not whether the people he cites being behind gun control are Jewish, the question is: What does that have to do with Judaism per se? Why single out Jews rather than Catholics, Protestants or Atheists (my people)?
'Rape Gangs' seems to work pretty well for immigrants of any ethnicity.
If your magical thinking leads you to believe that all cultures are equal and none are better or worse than any other.
Say the whole word!
(and relevant to my above post)
I had the exact thought.
I was thinking more Always Sunny.
"You dropped a hard J on us!"
I mean, Jewish immigrants.
Jewmigrants?
The adjectival form of 'Jew' is 'Jewish'.
In my experience, those who use the noun form also tend to quote from the Protocols of the Elders, or have at least read them. Word choice is a social signal, and this certainly is an example.
I don't necessarily think they mean anything by it. Sometimes poor grammar is just poor grammar
Calling them Jewish instead of Jew wouldn't have made any substantive change.
According to what criteria?
The point of the graphic is to stir up negative feelings towards Jews. -ish wouldn't have changed that.
Ah, I misunderstood.
Sort of like if someone were to refer to Arabic immigrants as Arab immigrants. Unsophisticated, but it doesn't automatically indicate an underlying belief that they all have horns and control the world.
Don't get all jewed up anout it.

Jews with guns is a concept I strongly support.
Why? You can't stop a Panzer with them!
/Sarc
I second that. We should canvass the JDL for some votes.
He should have just drawn penis' next to their faces, and he should have labeled them dicks, and half of America would have approved. C'mon, Ted.
I wonder if his lawyer and agent and accountant and show promoter have quit their jobs in protest.

JEW!!!!!
"""leftist secular Jews that the goyims are all out to get them"""
So you are saying that leftist secular Jews already think the goyim are out to get them. But nobody should mention it.
No, they don't. They're worried about the shvartzes, not the vayse goyim.
So you are saying that leftist secular Jews already think the goyim are out to get them.

Well, they have outsourced Mercedes and BMW production here, so there might be something to your idea.
If they think we're out to get them, then we may as well be out to get them. After all, they're now fighting against us in defense, so we have to defend against their defense.
Go fuck yourself, you collectivist prick.
This only makes sense if the Jews are running things... Hmmm.
Are people who promote gun control "bad people"?
Absolutely. Self-defense is one of the fundamental and basic human rights there is. The only reason why you would want to permanently disarm someone who has done nothing wrong is because you want to oppress him.
Disclaimer: Ted Nugent never gets high, not even on beer. Like Frank Zappa, he grew his hair long to embarrass others.
You know who else thought the Jews were up to no good?
Mel Gibson?
Macklemore?
Jimmy Carter?
Asghar Bukhari?
The Pharoah?
My ex-wives?
Ex-wives! Nobody needs more than one ex-wife.
Sadly, "need" had nothing to do with it.
What about Mormon fundamentalists? Why can't they have as many ex-wives and mothers-in-law as they like?
Herod the Great?
Jojo Kiss?
Nicole Brown Simpson, Ronald Goldman, the LAPD, Marcia Clark and half of America?
I goddam near posted the exact same thing, but went and took a shower instead. Uncanny.
Henry Ford?
Ezra Pound?
The reality: it's correlation. Jews skew heavily Team Blue, therefore take on all the Team Blue slogans.
It totally is. Meanwhile, team blue becomes more anti-Semitic every day.
The term "self-hating Jew" exists for a reason.
It's a stupid term. The people to whom it's usually applied aren't self-hating- quite the opposite, they think very highly of themselves. It's all those *other* Jews...
Bingo
While leftist American jews think that it's the christian right that is out to get them.
On that score, they have observed correctly. Right has everything to do with zealotry and nothing to so with belief in free-market economics, though feigning such belief is a handy way of riding on Republican coattails.
Somebody reposted something they found on the internet without carefully scrutinizing it?

Well, of course that goes without saying.

Anyhow, I was trying to elucidate any reader. The whole "jews who support gun-control are idiots" idea is well understood by conservatives.
I don't think this kerfuffle changed any minds.
I think we know who's getting invited to next year's SOTU address.

Pete illustrates the faulty logic in thinking the government is omniscient.
I do agree that it is odd that Texas decided mental institutions can't prevent visitors from bringing in guns. WTF.
But the point here is that there is no shortage of actual nationalsocialist ideologues today loudly arguing for altruistic religious eugenics laws.
if being jewish is the worst thing somebody can think of about me, their opinion is obviously not to be taken seriously.
