Friday A/V Club: Have a Psychedelic Cold War Christmas
An Avengers Christmas story

For your holiday enjoyment, here's "Too Many Christmas Trees," a 1965 episode of The Avengers. (That's the British spy-fi show, not the superhero team.) It's got espionage, mind control, several surrealist inserts, an homage to The Lady from Shanghai, and more than one sequence that feels like it belongs in a story about Halloween, not Christmas. Enjoy!
