Alleged Victim in 'War on Cops' Was a Suicide
Charles Joseph Gliniewicz died by his own hand.

After an investigation that cost more than $300,000, authorities announced today that Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, a police lieutenant in Fox Lake, Illinois, committed suicide on September 1. It had been clear for a while that this was a possibility, and news of this morning's announcement was leaked to the press last night. Now it's official: This was the "carefully planned" self-murder of an officer being investigated for "extensive criminal acts."
Ordinarily this sad story would just be local news. But Gliniewicz's death had initially been blamed on a mysterious ambush, and in the hysteria over the so-called "war on cops"—an alleged wave of guerilla assaults on law enforcement—his death was added to a national narrative. When Scott Walker was still in the presidential race, the candidate cited Gliniewicz while claiming that there was a "a disturbing trend of police officers being murdered on the job." When Pat Buchanan accused Barack Obama of "acting like a conscientious objector in this war on cops," Gliniewicz was his lead example. Breitbart.com initially reported Gliniewicz's death under the headline "WAR ON COPS: OFFICER SHOT AND KILLED IN CHICAGO SUBURB."
Meanwhile, 2015 is on track to be one of the safest years on record for American police officers. If you focus just on the number of cops killed in ambushes or execution-style, this year's total is in the single digits. And the number of killings where the motives have been definitively linked to an anti-cop ideology? I know of none in 2015. In 2014 I know of four, two of them before the Ferguson eruption and two of them afterward.
The Gliniewicz announcement comes a few days after another war-on-cops scare story—an alleged anarchist plot to murder officers on Halloween—melted away with so many other Halloween hoaxes. But don't be surprised when the war-on-cops legend nonetheless soldiers on. That story has been weaving in and out of the media for years now, fueled more by the state of public anxiety than by any substantial evidence that it's true. And right now, there's plenty of anxiety to go around.

Damn deniers of the war on cops. This hero was a victim. This life-long public servant was driven to suicide because of you cop-haters. Next time you get robbed, call a crackhead!
(did I get it right? I've forgotten all the various narratives.)
C-. I would have appreciated more effort. It's clear you put this together quickly so you could beat FoE.
The rush to beat FoE only counts in the AM and PM links. I posted this like 4 minutes after it first showed up. FoE usually manages to post at 9:00:01 and 4:30:01 on the links threads.
Ok, I withdraw my charge of beating FoE. You grade is now a B.
*notes Jimbo is an easy grader and a pushover*
It should be noted that I actually read some and quoted one of the linked articles before crafting my comment on this story.
Wouldn't it be nice if they could take an accurate poll on how many crooked cops there are in America? Would it be 50/50 or is the number of bad cops much higher?
Not to worry. This news will be sufficiently buried such that most people and cops will still think he was executed.
People should have seen this coming. That haircut is a cry for help.
Cop walked into a barber shop and said, "Give me the Chuck Liddell, please."
That is a righteous high and tight you see in the USMC infantry
You know who else was "high" and "tight"?
Many female porn stars?
Towelie?
Charles Blondin?
Eva Braun?
Not just infantry. I was swinging with the wing and we had people with over the top high and tights as well.
I was swinging with the wing
Is this some of that Cockney rhyming slang I've heard about?
... Hobbit
Military rhyming slang actually. It's a somewhat derogatory term for Marine Aviation. Or at least it was 25 years ago.
This man would still be alive today and swimming in commendations if he had simply assaulted a bunch of people under the color of law instead of taking money intended to help youngsters in a career path to assaulting a bunch of people under the color of law.
What a surprise, a dirty cop decides his final act on earth will be to implicate random innocent strangers in a murder.
Liberal bonus points for implicating predominantly white guys while still being inclusive, right?
Too soon!
Most people atone their sins on their death bed, this guy doubled down.
there may not be an actual war but there are groups actually calling for it which if I called for a war on those same groups I'd be in jail right now.
P.S. Thanks for finally giving us a number of planned attacks vs assault while being arrested.

You're welcome. But "finally" is an odd word to use here, given that I devoted a paragraph to that question the last time I blogged about this, back in September.
Ohhhh, Jesse - you and your "facts" and "data"! Trolls don't survive on that. They survive on responses.
LIKE YOURS!
*glares at Jesse*
Is this a Tulpa or a new troll? I'm leaning towards the latter.
Or Tulpa got into the GHB.
Ron shows up on cop threads. Not sure if he's a libertarian, but he believes in TWOC.
I wonder how many cops actually believe there is a war against them, or if it just another lie that they use as an excuse to use violence.
I personally think that most of them believe it. Cops live in a bubble. Most, if not all of their close friends and family are other cops so any feedback they get comes from other cops and the really jaded / criminal citizens they interact with. Add unions into the mix, who want evidence to show everyone how dangerous their jobs are so they can get more goodies from taxpayers. And, the perception becomes reality to them.
Which explains their pussy paranoia and why they shoot so quick, which causes people to get mad and say mean things about the police, which reinforces their persecution complex, and round and round we go!
Even cops are waging the war on cops! THIS MUST END!
The self hate was strong with this one.
Google pay 97$ per hour my last pay check was $8500 working 1o hours a week online. My younger brother friend has been averaging 12k for months now and he works about 22 hours a week. I cant believe how easy it was once I tried it out.
This is wha- I do...... ?????? http://www.buzznews99.com
I wonder if he actually meant to kill himself as opposed to wounding himself and being a hero.
One in the vest and one under/around, I'm gonna assume, as a cop, he would've had a better idea about how to wound himself.
That was my first thought. And of course, I always take anything the cops say with a grain of salt anyway so who knows how solid the evidence for a suicide is? It doesn't seem to make much sense that they would take a martyred hero and turn him into a disgraced suicide, but it doesn't make it impossible.
I would bet he meant to kill himself. I'm not sure when the 'criminal investigation' against him started. But, My money is on him knowing he was going down. So, he decided to take the easy way out. But, wanted to make it look like he died a hero in the line of duty so his family would get his nice fat pension. And, all his good deeds wouldn't be undone by his criminal behavior.
I think there was a retired Chicago Cop early on saying it was a suicide and Fox Lake was covering up. I believe he got in some trouble. Sad to put so many people through so much BS.
The coroner released details and made an 'I can find no evidence to refute suicide'-type statement earlier and got in hot water for it.
I'm just flabbergasted thinking back to the manhunt that went on. There were all manner of three-letter agencies combing the area for at least a week after this happened.
Don't kill the excuse to work overtime. Vacations don't pay for themselves you know.
If it were just the Sheriff or the ISP, I wouldn't bat an eye for your exact reasons.
But the FBI was out here and evidence was being transferred/shared with DHS. The coroner seemed to have had the case wrapped up weeks ago and it makes me feel like we're not getting the whole story.
Just seems odd to kill yourself over 'thousands of dollars' and set up a manhunt for something that turned out to be a staged suicide. It seemed excessive when it was just 'officer down' and odd to take your own life when other Chicago officers assault informants and murder their wives and manage reduced sentences and to otherwise skirt jail time.

Feds like overtime too.

Those are just crimes against little people. Of course they get minimal sentences. In this case he committed a crime against the state. They treat that very differently.
Wagons were circled.
I called this less than a week after it happened.
More like 2 days
More like 2 days
If i looked like that , id redecorate with a 9mm round too
I wonder, has/will Breitbart.com issue(d) an update on this story? I'm going to guess no. That site used to be pretty good. But after Andrew Breitbart's passing it has just gone downhill so much.
BOOYAH! We are WINNING!
hth
WOW, dude, that meme is like, so 2014.
Whatever happened to that ass, anyways?
20 bucks says he is counted in all the stats as a cop who was killed by gunfire on the job.
And so he was.
And will continue to be, no doubt.
Some cops become cops because it gives them a license to abuse. Power corrupts, and the corruptible are attracted to power.
The police even have special privileges to keep there criminal activity secret. Because of the police unions and the FOP police have a bill of rights that protects the criminal enterprises from being charged with a crime. The whole system is rigged.
I make up to $90 an hour working from my home. My story is that I quit working at Walmart to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $40h to $86h? Someone was good to me by sharing this link with me, so now i am hoping i could help someone else out there by sharing this link... Try it, you won't regret it!......

The police union and the FOP knew this officer committed suicide instead they allowed the public to believe this officer was murdered. A manhunt was issued and every african american knows they can be killed and the police get paid vacations. Fox new sources blamed "black lives matter" for the murder. The police unions knew this officer was under investigation for embezzlement and said nothing and allowed him a heroic funeral. The police union and the FOP should be held accountable for this lie they endangered the public!
I wonder how the 'hundreds of cops who went to this this guy's funeral in uniform feel. Flags were ordered flown at half-staff for what turned out to be a coward and, possibly, a thief.
How many of those young impressionable Explorers quit in disgust over their mentor's misdeeds or just considered it good gang training.
How many of those young impressionable Explorers quit in disgust
Not enough.
How exactly did he fake a murder attempt when it was suicide? Wouldn't it have been extremely obvious from the autopsy and prelim investigation that it was self inflicted?
For those who have not followed today's developments, it gets better (worse?). He didn't just embezzle money from the community non-profit, he used the stolen money to pay for his porn. Then tried to hire a hit man to harm the executive in charge of the theft investigation:
Officials: Fox Lake cop shot himself after 'extensive criminal acts'
http://www.chicagotribune.com/.....story.html
"Gliniewicz ran the village's Explorer youth police training program and he had been stealing money from it for some seven years, Filenko said. Gliniewicz stole an amount in the five figures and used the money for personal expenses, including mortgage payments, travel and adult websites, Filenko said."
...
"Text messages Gliniewicz had sent, which authorities revealed Wednesday, appeared to suggest threats against Village Administrator Anne Marrin. Investigators have also seen evidence that Gliniewicz had made contact with a woman linked to the Outlaws motorcycle gang to discuss the possibility of a gang member doing harm to Marrin, said multiple sources with knowledge of the investigation. The interest in harming the official is one of several areas of possible wrongdoing still under investigation, the sources said.
Police also said Gliniewicz had forged documents to get equipment from a military surplus program."
It gets even better. His family was in on it - wife and son - http://www.nbcchicago.com/news.....94522.html
Dead pig?
Ahh. That's too bad.
Screw you, you punk.
Porn scandal in PA.

Just because this poor unfortunate committed suicide does NOT mean there is not a war on cops.
Start working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go? to tech tab for work detail,,,,,,,
