    That’s some nice trollling Jessie

  2. Episiarch   10 years ago

I have to say, I like Ice T’s attitude. Though he still is (or was?) on one of the most formulaic, cop-fellating shows on TV.

    1. SugarFree   10 years ago

Shut up. SHUT UP! Eliot Stabler is out there beating the shit out of suspects to keep tender little assholes like yours safe.

More needs to be written about the female and gay gaze.

                      From the shit article

I’m probably going to get a lot of flack for saying this, but if I had to describe the Male Gaze using only one word, it would be this: ENTITLEMENT.

I’m sure she/he/it got soooo much flak from the legion of sycophants that reside her SJW bubble.

I actually found a lot of truth in the article:

female sexuality is something to fear and smart men must be vigilant.

  4. Fist of Etiquette   10 years ago

I can’t figure out the context of his original tweet.

    1. B.P.   10 years ago

Then clearly you don’t know how Twitter works. There’s never any context.

    2. Certified Public Asshat   10 years ago

I was curious, so I went to his page. I am still confused, something about Ice T and gaming.

      1. Just say Nikki   10 years ago

There was an SVU episode “ripped from the headlines” or whatever that had some kind of tie-in to GamerGate. Peeps started tweeting at him angrily about it but he didn’t know what GamerGate actually was.

        1. Certified Public Asshat   10 years ago

Ah, it became slightly more clear the more I scrolled.

    3. Irish ?s ESB   10 years ago

Ice T has been on an amazing Twitter rant about the media for like 6 hours because he asked someone what Gamergate was, the guy said it was related to gaming journalism, and Ice T proceeded to tell Gamers they shouldn’t care what the media says because ‘fuck the media, fuckers don’t know shit. Keep movin.’

  5. Irish ?s ESB   10 years ago

Hey, anyone want to see a great example of people totally bullshitting with statistics for political reasons?

From an African American activist website called Colorlines:

STUDY: Black Students Disproportionately Suspended, Expelled in Southern Schools

OH NO! Those southern racists! According to Colorlines, 55% of all black students suspended and expelled from school are from those bigot southern states!

Surely that’s evidence that they’re horrible racists. I mean, it’s not like 55% of black people in America live in the south or anything because that would totally ruin the argument.

The U.S. Census Bureau released today a 2010 Census brief, The Black Population: 2010 [PDF], that shows 14 percent of all people in the United States identified as black, either alone or in combination with one or more other races. In 2010, 55 percent of the black population lived in the South, and 105 Southern counties had a black population of 50 percent or higher.

    Oops.

    1. Illocust   10 years ago

Wow, things never work out that perfectly. I love it.

      1. Irish ?s ESB   10 years ago

I saw the stat at Colorlines and immediately thought ‘well more black people live in the south. I’m sure it’s not that far away from the actual percentage of black people down there.’

So I googled census stats and couldn’t believe it was the exact same percentage.

      2. Sidd Finch v2.01   10 years ago

This is the last one I remember.

He’s criticizing a ‘nerds hate chicks’ study for using GRE scores instead of GRE math scores.

GRE scores are designed to follow a normal distribution, so we can plug all of this into our handy-dandy normal distribution calculator and find that 19% of men and 6% of women taking the GRE meet the score threshold to get into graduate level Mathematics. 191,394 men and 244,712 women took the GRE last year, so there will be about 36,400 men and 14,700 women who pass the score bar and qualify for graduate level mathematics. That means the pool of people who can do graduate Mathematics is 29% female. And when we look at the actual gender balance in graduate Mathematics, it’s also 29% female.

    2. Brochettaward   10 years ago

Too late. Some Slate writer has already masturbated to it and is already half way through a headline story.

    3. Antilles   10 years ago

Quiet, you racist denier/apologist! Just because the data doesn’t support the narrative doesn’t mean it’s not true.

    4. Just say Nikki   10 years ago

That’s only half of their argument, though.

“Blacks are only 24 percent of students enrolled in public schools in those states, yet they are 48 percent of students suspended, 49 percent of students expelled,” study coauthor Shaun R. Harper told NPR. “There are 84 districts where blacks were 100 percent of students suspended from school.”

      1. Irish ?s ESB   10 years ago

Yes, but that’s true all over the country. The issue is that they focus on the South because the south is where the evil racists are, but this is a national issue with a number of causes.

It’s very possible the reason more black people are suspended is because more black people do things worthy of suspension. In which case the issue is unrelated to the schools and their claim of southern racism (which is the real point of the argument) evaporates.

        1. Antilles   10 years ago

It’s racist to hold Blacks to the same standard as whites. I’ve literally heard SJWs argue this while accusing everyone else of being racist. Mind-boggling…

          1. Rhywun   10 years ago

There was a story recently about a school district (NYC?) basically letting black kids get away with stuff that white kids got in trouble for, just to produce the “correct” numbers.

            1. Antilles   10 years ago

Back when I was in school it was common to punish the ‘good’ kids more harshly than the ‘bad’ kids for the same offenses. The reasoning was that the offence was worse because good kids should know better. Pretty common attitude in the military (well, Air Force) too.

            2. Circle (formerly Square)   10 years ago

“There was a story recently about a school district (NYC?) basically letting black kids get away with stuff that white kids got in trouble for, just to produce the “correct” numbers”

My district (West Contra Costa Unified) does this. I have witnessed it with my own eyes.

          2. Free Society   10 years ago

It’s racist to hold Blacks to the same standard as whites. I’ve literally heard SJWs argue this while accusing everyone else of being racist. Mind-boggling…

Trying to reason with them is difficult. They’re so profoundly stupid and their beliefs are so wildly out of proportion with reason that I just don’t know where to begin.

            1. Antilles   10 years ago

It’s like they employ an inverse Occam’s Razor. The most logical, rational explanation is cast aside and they instead focus on blaming someone/something else that fits what they believe. It’s the same psychosis that Conspiracy Theorists exhibit.

        2. Brochettaward   10 years ago

The worst performing schools in the country are basically without fail predominantly black. This study didn’t look at underlying behaviors at all let alone other factors. Tallying percentages of suspensions (which itself seems questionable – do schools actually track all suspensions and the race of the student?) tells little.

Again, I’ve seen studies that do actually claim blacks are more likely to be suspended for offenses that white students aren’t. But there’s a whole host of issues with studies like those.

          1. Circle (formerly Square)   10 years ago

“do schools actually track all suspensions and the race of the student?”

            Yes – obsessively.

“I’ve seen studies that do actually claim blacks are more likely to be suspended for offenses that white students aren’t”

This was definitely once true, and probably still is in many places. It becomes a chicken-and-the-egg thing, in my opinion – black students notice that they are singled out more and thus tend to be more angry and hostile and less trustful of the system, which inspires them to act out more, which makes them look more statistically bad, and thus they get persecuted harder, and thus act out more, and so on.

The “solution,” in my District, however, has been simply to put the blinders on and pretend that it’s all chickens, no eggs, so to speak, so that now black kids in my district have learned that they can get away with way more, but they also notice the utter stupidity and blindness of the system, so they’re not any less hostile and alienated . . .

        3. sudon't   10 years ago

“It’s very possible the reason more black people are suspended is because more black people do things worthy of suspension.”

That was my first thought. That’s not what’s happening, though. Black kids end up getting suspended over minor things that white kids get a pass on. There’s a tendency to medicalize disruptive white kids, and criminalize black kids. White teachers and administrators are more afraid of black kids, or are more likely to see them as criminals, is my guess. I mean, it’s no secret that blacks are seen, and treated, differently than whites. You are correct that it’s not confined to the South, though.

      2. Loki   10 years ago

The obvious solution is to require schools to expel or suspend more white kids, whether they deserve it or not. “Sorry Johnny, looks like you picked the wrong day to come to school white.”

    5. Brochettaward   10 years ago

I also don’t get the logic, anyway. More black students are expelled, but they don’t even seem to try and control for the actual behaviors. I know some studies claim to do so, but color me skeptical. Black students make up a higher proportion of suspensions nationwide compared to enrollments.

    6. Pope Jimbo   10 years ago

If they weren’t such fucking racists down south, they’d do things like Minneapolis:

      http://dailycaller.com/2014/11…..-students/

Minneapolis Public Schools are implementing a new policy aimed at eliminating the gap between the races when it comes to suspensions. Nothing will change for white students, they will still be suspended at the discretion of each school’s principal. But for minority students, specifically black, Hispanic and Native American students, the Minneapolis Schools Superintendent’s office will personally review each case.

      1. Brochettaward   10 years ago

        Lawsuits, incoming…

      2. R C Dean   10 years ago

Lets just give due process to one race, and not another.

    7. NealAppeal   10 years ago

So the difference from being equally racist with the North is 5% +/- 2.5% error?

  6. Medical Physics Guy   10 years ago

Ice T has always had a separate public persona. All through his raps about pimping and bitches, he was in fact (and I think still is) married and monogamous. Further he is very pro-2A and trained his wife in use of firearms.

Truthfully, I’m not too worried about it. If it comes straight up the middle of the peninsula like they’re predicting, it’ll lose a lot of strength by the time it makes it up to where I am. At most, lots and lots of rain.

        1. Juvenile Bluster   10 years ago

It’s not going to have much strength down here in the southern part of the state either. By the time it gets past Hispanola there won’t be enough time for it to reform into something bad before it gets here. We’ll end up getting 45 MPH winds and 6 inches of rain. We have summer thunderstorms worse than that.

Hey, I remember the Greaseman! Brilliant improvisationist. She can probably just pull them out with her fingers like Charlie on ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ (episode ‘Mac and Charlie Die’ for those who aren’t familiar).

Jesse Walker, an SJW white knight defending some Daily Beast reporter who lied about the context of what Ice-T was saying about gamers and gamergate, called Ice-t a Trump supporter (read racist-sexist-homophobe) Ice-t responded by saying Jesse is more like Trump then he is.

      1. DesigNate   10 years ago

Where do you get Jesse being an SJW white knight defender?

        1. Jesse Walker   10 years ago

He outlines his theory here. It’s such a weird reading of the tweets that I actually kind of appreciate it.

          1. Corning   10 years ago

Yeah cuz equating Ice-T’s criticism of the press in the context of gamergate to Trump (whom Reason has deemed to be a sexist supported by racists) should totally be read as benign amusing banter and any maliciousness read into it is !!!”WYRDOOOS”!!!!

            1. Jesse Walker   10 years ago

              !!!”WYRDOOOS”!!!!

Poor Jesse just called out as bad as Trump.

Will Suderman now be cherry picking Weigel articles to call you a racist as well?

Speaking of Ice-T he came out telling gamers of #gamergate to ignore the lying press….

Next thing you know some Daily Beast piece of shit (Who i am sure is not in a JournoList 3.0 group along with any Reason writers) lied saying Ice-t told gamergate to eat a dick.

Gee it is almost as if the press and bloggers are a bunch of no talent losers talking shit.

    1. Corning   10 years ago

      Oh shit

      http://twitter.com/FINALLEVEL/…..2404383744

Hey Jesse how close are you to reporters at The Daily Beast?

What motivated you again to slander Ice-T?

    2. *GILMORE*   10 years ago

I’m trying hard to make sense of what you’re saying, and not succeeding.

Are you upset that Ice T is not a Trump supporter?

or upset that Jesse compares Trump’s braggadocio to Ice T’s unique brand of swagger?

I personally think Body Count should open for The Donald at future events. And The Donald should make that same point re: “Pussification”. Then do a stage dive.

      1. Corning   10 years ago

“Are you upset that Ice T is not a Trump supporter?”

Fuck you. You know that is not true nor has it ever been true.
And double fuck you for making me say it.
and triple fuck you for making me say it say it.

“upset that Jesse compares Trump’s braggadocio to Ice T’s unique brand of swagger?”

Jesse is circling the wagons to cover for a a buddy Daily Beast reporter who lied about Ice-T’s comments

Jesse is circling the wagons to cover for a a buddy Daily Beast reporter who lied about Ice-T’s comments

I didn’t know there had been a Daily Beast article about any of this until you mentioned it here, Corning, and now that I’ve Googled it I see it’s by someone I’ve never heard of before.

(I also don’t know how exactly my Tweet could be construed as an attempt to “cover for” her article, but you don’t seem to be particularly lucid today, so let’s just skip the explanations.)

          1. Corning   10 years ago

So you just randomly came across Ice-T’s criticism of the press without looking at its context in regards to gamergate and then randomly equated it to Trump’s criticism of the press?

Unpack this for me. I may not be lucid but we can assume you are. One would have to be to make that claim.

How did you come across this tweet? Who pointed it out to you? Why choose to equate Ice-T with Trump? Why spend all that time linking those tweets in your tweets and again linking them in your article without even looking at any contextual tweets he might have made before and after the tweets you linked? Why jump to equating Ice-T to Trump without that same context?

Why jump to equating Ice-T to Trump without that same context?

              Behold the writing process:

              1. Someone linked to Ice T tweeting “What is Gamergate?” in the thread below my other blog post today.

              2. I followed the link, was amused, visited Ice T’s feed to see what was going on, and spotted a tweet that read like it had been written by a more profane Donald Trump.

              3. I made a joke about this on Twitter.

              4. Ice T responded with a fuck-you-too to Trump.

              5. I put the exchange here on the blog.

For the record, I like Ice T, though I don’t care much for the show he’s on. And my opinion of Gamergate is “the subject makes my eyes glaze over.”

“the subject makes my eyes glaze over.”

If true then you picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

                – Trump right here on Reason has been accused of attracting racists and being a sexist mirroring the narrative of MSM about him.

                – Gamergate has had the same accusations of racism and sexism leveled at it by pretty much every news outlet on the planet.

                – Both have criticized the press.

                – More recently The press has also claimed gamergate supports Trump. (Trump is the boogy man of the moment. gamergate has also been accused of being ISIS, Nazis, the KKK, rapists, Mass shooters etc)

                – Every person of public note, from game devs to voice actors to porn stars, to game critics who has shown the least bit support or even neutrality toward gamergate has been slandered doxed, blocked, blacklisted, threatened, family contacted, and accused of the most horrible things.

                http://medium.com/@adrianchm/a…..9fce126709

-So when Ice-T comes out criticizing the press in regards to gamergate and you come in equating that criticism with Reason certified racist sexist Trump you might begin to see how closely your narrative aligns with the narrative being spewed out from every orifice of MSM about gamergate

Or, perhaps Corning, you’re being completely paranoid. But Jesse’s probably into that, what with his weird conspiracy theory fetish.

                  1. Corning   10 years ago

“Or, perhaps Corning, you’re being completely paranoid”

                    GameJounroPros exists

                    JournoList exists

                    Sewerrat fucker Weigel exists

Journalists collude slander and lie all day long to push their narrative. It is well known and well documented. Feel free to google. In fact it is well documented for at least one Journalist who worked at this very site not so long ago. A journalist who is still beloved by Reason Staff and often quoted and still retains an honorary editorial position here.

Furthermore if GamerGate has proven anything is that Journalists will double down with slander and lies whenever they are challenged or their corruption exposed.

Did I accuse poor innocent Jesse of horrible things? Maybe. But he is no innocent. He turned a blind eye on Weigel and at the very least he is doing it here. his “the subject makes my eyes glaze over.” claim seems paper thin but plausible. If true then it is definitely willful and not out of bordom considering the context of this article.

“Derpy derp Ice-t and gamergate tweets Derpy derp Ice-t is talking about the press derpy derp I know I will mention Reason’s racist of the week: Trump…..”

                    What the fuck ever.

Note: I am sure to no one’s surprise sewerrat fucker Weigel called gamergate a bunch of right wing sexists with small dicks. He also name drops gamergate in his articles equating them with whatever “right wing” muckraked horror to expose as THE quintessential example for everyone who is not a progressive like him.

                    1. *GILMORE*   10 years ago

I’m still wondering what any of the above-Gamergate-frothing has to do with Ice T.

        2. *GILMORE*   10 years ago

“Fuck you. You know that is not true nor has it ever been true.
And double fuck you for making me say it.
and triple fuck you for making me say it say it.’

Corning = I genuinely had no idea why you were frothing at jesse over what seems to be a tongue-in-cheek joke-post, one involving Ice T.

(who i note, stars in one of my favorite films of all time, “New Jack City”)

I have never seen anyone actually get genuinely upset about ‘ice-t related issues’ and wondered wtf you were talking about.

Lastly, I didn’t make you say anything. I asked if you could clarify what your original comment meant. Given there’s no reference to any ‘daily beast’ anywhere, i still have no idea what your last point is in reference to…. (or why anyone should feels that Ice T is a figure beyond mockery or reproach)

  19. *GILMORE*   10 years ago

I now follow 2 people on my twitter account.

    Iowahawk, and Ice T.

    i call that progress.

(as of july it was only The Donald. I unfollowed him because the joke stopped being funny)
