Hillary Clinton has agreed to testify before the House Select Committee on Benghazi later this month.
“I do solemnly swear to tell the whole truth as long as it makes a difference at this point.”
Hello.
‘A North Carolina cop is suing Starbucks after he spilled the free coffee a barista gave him.’
I guess the story didn’t matter enough to warrant a link?
Hi. Coffee links are for closers!
it has a whole separate story
What are the odds she:
1. Has a story and she will stick to it
2. Will use the platform attack congress for failing to fund her initiatives at state
3. Play Lois Lerner
4. Blame others
She needs to turn on the waterworks again.
She might melt.
What a world…
what a world….
That would make her very Presidential.
No, that would kill her electability. And then we’d have to endure a national “conversation” about how women are different, the patriarchy, etc.
Hasn’t this conversation been going on and getting more shrill since forever?
4 is a tried, tested and true strategy for them so why deviate?
Her husband was called slick for a reason; nothing stuck to his ass.
Hillary has never been that person. She still gets blamed for the failure of ClintonCare.
She has just been supported, in spite of her many flaws, by the faithful.
We’ll see heaping handfuls of 1, 2, and 3. Although she’ll undoubtedly blame some people who died in Benghazi.
I pick #5: all of the above.
Chuck Norris thinks the military may be planning to occupy Texas.
Oh, shit.
Pentagon: Texas has nothing to fear from upcoming military exercise
“Operation Jade Helm is being conducted by Americans”
Alrighty then.
“Operation Jade Helm is being conducted by Americans”
So were the operations at Waco and Ruby Ridge?
I have it on good authority that the National Guard at Kent State was *actually* NVA.
Don’t worry until they conduct Operation Purple Helmet
there is something ironic in a red bastion like TX looking askance at a military exercise.
There is, but given the mistrust of the current administration…
Agreed and at the end of the day the ‘standing army’ we have was one of the worst fears of the the Founders/Framers. It is an agency of the state and not accountable to the electorate. And while there may be generals that would not carry out orders of aggression against the public, there are always colonels underneath them looking to get promoted.
I’d argue that there are a lot more colonels, along with other officers, NCOs, and enlisted who would refuse action against the public than generals (as a percentage).
Generals are very often political creatures.
The military, as a whole, is one of the best educated organizations in the country. It is generally conservative, with some strong libertarian streaks.
A lot of Ron PAul supporters in the last election.
Well, I hope you are right, Bobarian.
This is true. It isn’t the millitary that I am worried about. They will refuse unlawful orders. The “standing army” of LEOs and police are what I worry about. They already have the mindset that they are apart from (and ABOVE) the mere citizenry, and they will go door-to-door, abrogate rights and kill civilians if it means that they get to use their cool toys. And they know that there are no consequences for it, sooo…
and that’s the rub, isn’t it. I’m not sure it doesn’t extend beyond this administration to govt as a whole and to institutions in general. Just caught me attention that it was TX of all places.
Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!
Yeah, I feel bad for the military, too. Going up against Norris even though they have to know they’ll lose.
A North Carolina cop is suing Starbucks after he spilled the free coffee a barista gave him.
#WarOnCops
He should be forced to pay Starbucks’ lawyer costs and for a coffee for the barista.
It also tasted burnt, and no free doughnut.
Oh, YEAH!
You beat me to it. I’ve been to Baltimore (unfortunately), and don’t recall any farms.
What do Baltimore farmers grow?
Cocaine for Avon Barksdale?
“There are Farm workers in the city of Baltimore?”
Well, given how many farm subsidies go to people living in swanky parts of Manhattan, I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility that there are people in Baltimore suckling at the teat of ag subsidies. Would they count as farm workers?
No, they count as welfare slobs.
You just have to grow something, anything, to be considered a farm in Baltimore it seems:
http://www.farmalliancebaltimore.org/the-farms/
I believe that the US Dept of Labor categorizes jobs as farm/non-farm, then subcategorizes within that. All that tells me is that they are using Fed Gov numbers, possibly because they don’t collect their own.
That 20% number doesn’t surprise me. City government, state government, federal government (Baltimore is a major port).
It’s not much of a surprise. Roughly 16% of all nonfarm workers in the US work for a government as per Census data; Baltimore’s geography and demographics probably account for their being 25% higher per capita than expected.
I wonder what the numbers are for DC (as in DC proper, not including the ‘burbs) if you include contractors, lawyers with government clients, and lobbyists?
110% wouldn’t surprise me.
Texas may ban cities from imposing fracking bans.
It’s bans all the way down.
Everything not mandatory is forbidden!
It is mandatory to make mandatory everything that is forbidden to be forbidden.

Australia is soooo weird.
That’s why God made it an island, to deposit all his failed experiments. Unfortunately, curiosity and hubris got the better of us – just like Ar-Pharaz?n.
I remember the first time me and some buddies witnessed Australian rules football. ‘What the fuck is this?’ was how we put it.
I mean, it takes a certain type of crazy to play hockey, but that’s for the plain insane!
Love it.
Absolutely one of the highlights of my youth was discovering Australian rules football on late-night ESPN. It was like a Monty-Python sketch version of a sport. It took weeks to figure out even an outline of the rules.
The first play I witnessed was a “ball up” in the middle of the field. One guy came running from about 15 yards away and did a flying kick to the sternum of the other guy going for the ball. “Magnificent play by Morgan!” What??
About a minute later somebody dragged a guy down in a pretty standard tackle…. everybody booed and the announcer goes “That’s a bit of dirty play, there”…. I was hooked.
It is the real-life, grown-up version of Calvinball.
EVER HAD A SNAKE REMOVED FROM YOUR PROPERTY? TELL US YOUR STORY BY LEAVING A COMMENT BELOW.
NOT “Ever removed a snake”, mind you.
‘No, but I did have my wife removed!’
BA-DA-BING!
Are you nuts? I would never remove a snake without the proper licensing and training.
I would never move a snake in Australia because most of them are deadly poisonous. I am guessing that is much more of a consideration for most Australians too.
You try removing a snake in Australia and you might end up very much DEAD!
Leave it to the pros.
Hell, I wouldn’t touch anything larger than a gnat in Australia.
Or Florida.
Eh. I’ve caught and released diamonds backs before. You just need a bucket or trash can and a rake. The closest I’ve ever got to being hurt was with a alligator snapping turtle. I didn’t realize they can reach the back of their shell with their head. Luckily I have decent reflexes.
Yeah, snapping turtles are quite nasty.
As nasty as moose bites?
Probably worse than Moose Drool:
http://bigskybrew.com/beers/moose-drool/
I had moose drool once. Not bad.
“As nasty as moose bites?”
+1 (sharpened end of an) interspace t??thbrush
I’ve caught and released diamonds backs before.
Why?
Definitely the sort of place where people deep-fry spray paint cans and shoot at ‘mud pooters’ from ‘swamp boats.’
I’ve pulled a couple of rubber boas out of the wall.
I wouldn’t do the same in Australia or somewhere where poisonous snakes run rampant.
SFW, but somewhat confronting: Darwin man risks testicle in jaws of saltwater crocodile
Darwin approves
That reminds me of a joke:
A man walks into a bar with an alligator. He announces to the bar that he will place his genitals in the gator’s mouth for 10 minutes and asks everyone if they’ll put money on him pulling them out safely. After the bar patrons put their money down the man puts his junk in the gator’s mouth and the gator closes it.
The minutes pass slowly by, 3. 5. 8, and then finally 10. The man grabs a beer bottle and whacks the gator on the nose and he opens his mouth. The mall pulls out unharmed.
Impressed, the crowd begins to hand him the money he’s won. The man then asks if there’s anyone in the crowd bold enough to try that for half the money. A blonde woman raises her hand and says “I’ll do it! Just don’t hit me on the nose with that bottle.”
“I’ve seen people with minor bites end up with topical ulcers. Your wedding tackle is not really somewhere you want a topical ulcer.”
“Wedding tackle.” Thank you for introducing me to such an amazing term.
I first heard it used by a famous Aussie, Angus Young, who said his wedding tackle was on display when he got pantsed in the middle of a show one time.
“The circumstances surrounding the attack are not clear but the NT News understands Bundaberg Rum may have been involved in the horrific incident.”
Ya know, maybe our newspapers wouldn’t be dying if they could at least show a bit of humor once in a while, like this.
If you like that, you’ll love this. Even the byline is excellent
ISIS is claiming that the two men who shot up a Muhammad drawing contest in Garland, Texas, were “soldiers of the caliphate.”
Their “soldiers” might want to think about the tactics of being baited to a heavily-armed American state.
I suspect that may be a retroactive claims by ISIS.
My sentiments as well, but what strikes me is how stupid it is to take ‘credit’ for a spectacular failure of an attack where the entire attacking force is dead in 15 seconds with only one minor injury to the defenders.
True. I remember back in the 1970s and 1980s, the IRA was very quick to let the British government know if an attack was NOT one of theirs. It was an odd approach but it kept their “brand” powerful.
kept their “brand” powerful.
ISIS should hire some brand consultants. I bet the Clinton Foundation has some in their directory of service providers.
Some argue ISIS is a masterclass in brand execution
That is just, wow.
“So it could well be that the successors of the technocrats and experts he [saddam] first employed are the ones overseeing a massive modernisation of the terrorist economy of the region.”
A post hoc and posthumous claim…
In their defense, that was some masterful baiting….
That’s why they go ‘way ….
Swedish ice hockey team reported for ‘Indian’ logo
Sweden sucks Ikea meatballs.
They are probably paying us back for our stereotypical logo used for the Vikings.
“Aw jeez….”
Vikings are white so apparently it’s ok. Same with the fighting Irish.
I bet you could come up with team names like “The murdering Italians” or “The Pollacks” “The Bartering Jews” “The German Warmongers” etc, and it would be ok because they’re white.
Now that I think about it maybe all team names should be racist. Who wouldn’t want to see “The Cleveland Pollacks” take on “The Pittsburgh Krauts”?
Zulu Cannibal Giants
They even have a pretty good logo.
http://tinyurl.com/lsh46gz
I’d say that there would be some big cash in printing these on Cafe Press, but I fear that wearing one could get you in a lot of trouble now.
Hard to tell, but that indian has to be descended from the shittiest tribe of all time. A lot of tribes lost their lands and were put on reservations, but how bad do you have to be to be sent to a reservation in Sweden?
Even dumber, “all Indians” isn’t a single ethnicity at all. There were hundreds of different tribes with different languages and cultures. And, even more important, they are all individuals, many of whom don’t give a fuck about “redskins” or any of it.
Chuck Norris thinks the military may be planning to occupy Texas.

Let them!

“Let them!”
Something tells me you’ll be mewling a different tune should any state actually attempt to legally secede.

“How the Koch brothers are disrupting the Latino presidential map,” according to the Democratic National Committee.
By being racists?
If the notorious Koch Brothers are truly promoting free market principles among Latinos, as the DNC claims, wouldn’t that be a threat to both major parties?
Posted this last night.
New bill would take Alabama out of the marriage license business.
I really hope this passes, but probably won’t.
The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday approved a bill by Republican Sen. Greg Albritton that would do away with current state marriage licenses issued by probate judges. Instead, couples would take a contract witnessed by a couple’s pastor, attorney or other witness and record the document at the court.
not sure whether to be shocked or what. A Repub who actually has a limited govt idea.
False flag operation?
People on FB were bitching about this was going to take money away from the govenrment.
sometimes my faith in humanity plummets…
Interesting. It would be great if this becomes the way that less gay-marriage-friendly states deal with marriage.
Of course, the state still defines what marriage is, legally. But it’s a big step in a good direction.
But according to Tonio, my efforts pushing this is a waste of time as there is no organized effort to pass something like this. First OK, in part, and now AL.
Maybe my 25 year effort hasn’t been so futile.
The thing is, it’s only happening in response to gay marriage. While you were right to push for that policy, it would never have happened without other people pushing for gay marriage. So I don’t think you can claim too much credit.
And the state is still registering marriages and, I assume, defining what counts as a valid marriage.
“Bitter, party of one… Bitter…”
Never said your efforts were a waste of time. And I think you actually know that.
What I did say, and repeatedly, was that there was no organized effort. And note the past tense on that. I never said there could never be such an effort. And I never claimed to be able to see into the future.
But please, do continue to attribute to me things I never said. That only reflects poorly on you.
Jackie and Kramer are on it.
Dude: ENB just posted that story one minute after your post WITHOUT a h/t.

OK, disregard that. I need more coffee: I have no idea what I’m doing this morning.

University of South Carolina student charged after being caught on video spitting in roommates’ food
Police say a University of South Carolina student has been arrested after her roommates set up a camera and caught her spitting and putting window cleaner in their food.
Investigators told media outlets that the roommates set up the camera because they had several arguments with 22-year-old Hayley King and she refused to leave their off-campus apartment.
Columbia police say the camera caught King taking several containers of food out of a refrigerator in February and spitting or spraying window cleaner into them. Authorities say one of the roommates ate out of one of the containers before seeing the video. The roommate reportedly believed the food had been tainted.
ABC News, citing a police report, said Columbia police questioned her about the allegations and she allegedly confessed.
King is charged with unlawful, malicious tampering with human drug product or food. The report said she was charged with unlawful, malicious tampering with human drug product or food. If convicted, King would face up to 20 years in prison on the Class C felony charge.
She’s a bitch, but what kind of bullshit charge is that?
The roommate reportedly believed the food had been tainted.
“Hey, this stuff smells like *window cleaner*!”
“Hey, this stuff smells like *window cleaner*….meh.” /takes bite.
She was putting window cleaner in their food. That is a poison. She was intentionally poisoning her roommates. I have no sympathy for her.
yeah, what is “malicious tampering” if not adding something that would put you in the ER.
Felony? Good fucking god. Our government is just a revolving door of petty tyrants who think nothing of ruining people’s lives over dumb shit.
I still would.

Flipped on MSNBC and its all about Pam Geller hatred. That evil woman lured those poor brownies to their deaths by defaming the prophet (pbuh).
It’s un fucking believable.
These are the people who would have appeased Hitler, defended communism and praised Mao.
Same mindset. Exact.
They’re literally retarded and have low IQs.
what do you mean “would have”? They did all of those things, certainly the latter two.
Well, they personally didn’t defend Communism and praise Mao because they’re from a later generation.
They’re just the type of people who would have if they were born 20 years earlier.
my point is same ideological mindset.
Here is a nice example of retardation in action :
Pam Geller Schools CNN Host
Your 2nd word should be “off”.
My personal favorite was that CNN hack who claimed drawing Mohammad was ‘incendiary and provocative.’
I wonder, if some sort of fundamentalist Christian shot up a gay pride parade, would they be saying that gay people shouldn’t have been ‘provoking’ the fundamentalists? It’s awfully strange that only critics of Islam get impugned for being ‘purposefully provocative.’
I’m definitely getting the sense that progressives hate Pamela Geller more than the people who tried to murder her. What’s amazing is that you didn’t see this sort of wishy washy nonsense from conservatives and libertarians when it came to defending Charlie Hedbo despite the fact that they were avowed socialists.
I just posted the link to the interview above. You have it right. Also, I don;t notice any texans attacking the mosque that the dirtbags attended. Yet. ANywhere else in the world you can bet there would have been an armed mob headed there after the attack.
After the Charlie Hebdo attacks, I was listening to a BBC Radio interview/debate between a Muslim and a French journalist. And the (female) Muslim flat out told the interviewer and the journalist that she, as a Muslim, got to decide what was offensive and therefor unfit to print.
Being the BBC the interviewer, of course, suggested to the journalist that she re-think printing offensive images.
something about principles and principals comes to mind.
I think it’s mostly that they hate everything about Texas. It’s culture, it’s politics, it’s history. So if a couple of jihadis tried to murder some people there they are hard-pressed to even fake sympathy or solidarity because it would mean agreeing with the wrong people on something.
I don’t think it has to do with Texas. It’s all about Geller and Wilders and Islam. Admittedly, Wilders deserves to get shit on for being a hypocrite and wanting to ban the Koran, but the people attacking him seem to hate him and Geller more than they hate actual fundamentalist Islamists. The hatred for Wilders among these people outstrips their hatred of ISIS.

FTA, Jonathan MacIntosh twitter comment: “The levels of toxic hegemonic masculinity on display in Age of Ultron was off the charts.”
I swear there must be a style manual out there with those kinds of words in them and idiots like this can just arrange them in any order they want.
Of all the criticisms you could level at “Ultron,” this is it? Why not just say it bordered on the Michael Bay school of “crash-brahr-boom?”
OH, that’s right. Because that wouldn’t make it about MacIntosh’s pet issue…
Ultron couldn’t sniff the salty dickbag of The Rock
I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that there is an app for that, Or even a google translate option.
I doubt this person knows what a hegemony is. He’s just aping his betters.

What does Sharia Law say about transgendered seating in a gender-segregated environment?
This. I keep waiting for the transgender Rosa Parks who shows up at a gender segrated Muslim ceremony and asks where to sit.
What do you mean “or”?
Was it voluntary? I mean I’m pretty sure the men and women in attendance probably wanted to be seated in different areas. In which case, why should I give a shit?

Where did all the carbon go? It’s pining for the fjords!
Despite accounting for only .3% of Earth’s surface, fjords manage to soak up 11% of the carbon absorbed by marine sediment – to the tune of 18 metric tons per year. Their ability to retain so much carbon (thereby preventing it from being released into the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas) may be important as the planet warms and glaciers melt, creating more fjords.
“Carbon sequestration is the big buzzword, but we’re still getting a handle on how it works,” said Thomas Bianchi, a University of Florida geochemist on the team that made the discovery. In order to make informed land-use decisions and accurate climate predictions, “finding and understanding these hot spots is critical,” he said.
Fjords are actually uniquely positioned to be major carbon sinks. For starters, they’re often flanked by lush, richly-forested cliffs and banks, which is the ideal location for collecting carbon-rich soil runoffs. Compared to oceans and river deltas, which are typically bordered by sandy beaches or wetlands, and the fjords’ advantage is clear. Their long, deep construction also plays a part – the carbon-rich sediment sinks to low-oxygen zones in the water, where it’s unlikely to be consumed by bacteria and pumped back into the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas.
Save us, Slartibartfast!
He’s especially proud of those fjords.
And the little fiddly bits around the edges.
So….
Blow up the fjords?
Carbon sequestration is the big buzzword, but we’re still getting a handle on how it works
Unpossible. We know all that there is to know about the climate. Now shut up and accept your green socialism.
may be important as the planet warms and glaciers melt,
Perhaps he meant “if” the planet warms and the glaciers melt. Assuming your conclusion is a fallacy, not a win.

The shooter is much taller than his assailant. In the video, the shooter follows the guy to the exit, punches him, then shoots him.
Granted, the article says the other guy was drunk and had assaulted the shooter, but I can’t see how chasing someone, punching them, then shooting them dead counts as self defense.
Since the shooter was black and the victim hispanic, the media ignored it because it can’t be used to stir up black resentment.

Roads? Where John Kerry is going they don’t need roads!
Secretary of State John Kerry made an unannounced trip to Somalia Tuesday in a show of solidarity with a government trying to defeat al-Qaida-allied militants and end decades of war in the African country. He is the first top U.S. diplomat ever to visit Somalia.
Kerry arrived at Mogadishu’s airport shortly before noon local time, greeted by Somalia’s president and prime minister on the tarmac. He held a series of meetings that included both of them along with regional leaders and civil society groups, before flying back to Kenya a little more than three hours later.
“More than 20 years ago, the United States was forced to pull back from your country,” Kerry said in a video address to the Somali people, invoking the “Black Hawk Down” debacle when Somali militiamen shot down two U.S. helicopters. “Now we are returning in collaboration with the international community and bearing high hopes but also mixed with ongoing concerns.”
The trip was made under tight security conditions. Somalia’s government only found out a day ago that Kerry would join the State Department’s top Africa official, Linda Greenfield-Thomas, on the trip. And the fact that he was only dipping his toe in Somalia, and not venturing past the airport, highlighted just how dangerous and unstable the country remains.
he was only dipping his toe in Somalia, and not venturing past the airport, because there are no roadz.

You jest but there is definitely a push towards this. Basically, if you meet a chick at a bar and tell her you are a Formula 1 driver and you knock it out, a growing number of people believe that constitutes “rape by fraud.” Unless you’re actually Sebastian Vettel, that is.
Fine. I’ll trade that rape charge for a rape charge when that chick in her 30’s “forgets” that she didn’t take her pill.
It may be extreme, but social injustice is so strong, we need to pass such unfair laws to counterbalance it.

The only time I would even consider such a charge as possibily valid was if the accused successfully impersonated someone the accuser knew. Your wife’s twin pulls off pretending to be her to get in your bed, you have a case, though it should probably be sexual assault at worse. You decide to sleep with a stranger and it turns out they aren’t a multi-millionaire. Grow up.
Your wife’s twin pulls off pretending to be her to get in your bed,
Especially when your wife’s twin is a guy.
Sam was cut because of homophobia. This guy is the same size and he got drafted higher!
and like Sam, this guy will be judged based on what he brings to the field, not what he does in his private life.
Well, not entirely. Shane Ray fell in the draft because of his drug incident. So unlike Sam, his personal life turned out to be a detriment rather than an advantage to his draft stock.
Ray also fell because of his toe. There were significant concerns that the injury could become arthritic, I believe.
I said he will be judged on performance, just like Sam was. The drug incident will be no more a factor than being gay in terms of his making the final cut. His draft status will help some; top picks get a longer leash but if he doesn’t play to expectations, Ray will be gone.
Scouts might be wrong about Shane Ray but if Sam were anywhere even near a 5th round pick talentwise he wouldn’t be a Free Agent right now.
Face it, Michael Sam deserved to be a 7th round pick and is at best a fringe NFL player. His sexuality has nothing to do with it
About that idiot prosecutor in Baltimore.
She’s really playing a dangerous game arresting those cops and over charging them all to appease a bunch of thugs and the mob. You can’t do shit like that. What happens if the investigation clears them?
What then? How do you close Pandora’s Box?
oh the ‘openers’ always leave the unintended consequences to ‘the others’…
It’s “justice” all the way down!
What basis are you using to claim the police were overcharged?
I was listening to Dershowitz discuss it yesterday. For example, the 2nd degree murder charge against the driver. It’s a strategy prosecutors sometimes use; like in the Zimmerman case.
What happens if the investigation clears them?
Nothing else will happen?
At least, not to people who matter.

Because i am a callous scumbag, I started laughing and stopped reading at this:
more and more people will find themselves like me: feverish, itching, and unable to find care.
because doc-in-a-box clinics no longer operate? These people are truly morons. Most folks who are feverish and itching go to the drug store and get some OTC drug, suck it up and drive on.
“suck it up and drive on.”

Headline of the Week: America’s Literary Elite Boldly Take Stance Against Dead Journalists
Charlie Hebdo would seem a rather obvious choice for a prize celebrating journalistic courage, considering the newspaper was firebombed in 2011 for producing cartoons satirizing militant Islam, lived with a heavy?but not heavy enough?security presence, and continued to raise a middle finger to those who threatened its journalists with death. But the award was an obvious choice that annoyed more than 200 PEN members?including Eric Bogosian, Wallace Shawn, Junot Diaz, and Peter Carey?who responded to the honor with a campaign of defamation against the dead. Charlie stood accused of, among other sins, trading in “selectively offensive material: material that intensifies the anti-Islamic, anti-Maghreb, anti-Arab sentiments already prevalent in the Western world.”
It was an odd sight; gauche caviar left-wing writers aligning themselves against slain soixante-huitard left-wing cartoonists, all while expressing sympathy with “devout” religious conservatives “humiliated” and “suffering” because of silly drawings from a low-circulation satirical newspaper.
soixante-huitard
Careful how you say that.
God damn it. I would have thought that fucking writers would understand the importance of free expression. Disgusting.
Thanks for the link mate – great to see MM raining some righteous contempt on those granstanding PEN refuseniks
Yeah, PEN really made a bad decision on that one. And it’s going to continue to bite them. Good.
PEN made a good decision – some PEN members showed themselves to be idiots. PEN stood up to them and should be applauded.
Yeah. PEN said, “Oh, you won’t chair our gala? Then fuck you. We’ll get six writers without spinal deficiency.”
A good point, Irish.
Looks more like an Abrams though I wonder if it is still storing the ammo in the hull. Guessing by the size of the turret I’d say yes.
I don’t know, it looks like they moved the commander and gunner out of the turret and down into the body of the tank and made the turret unmanned which means they could shrink the size of the turret and still store at least some of the ammo in it.
It is a pretty radical departure for them since this is the first tank design of theirs that I’ve seen that didn’t have the rounded turret but rather sloped angles. Also with some of those angles I almost wonder if they are trying to lower the radar cross section of the tank some
I’m not an expect on tank design but – storing anything flammable/explosive inside the hull is problematic for crew survival.
That said, throughout Soviet history ‘survivability’ of its conscripts was not even on the list of priorities and I am sure is still not on it.
With an autoloader wouldn’t you need all the ammo accessible as opposed to having just some of it accessible and then require the feeder magazine to be re-loaded? Wouldn’t that be a highly questionable design? It can’t be easy to move tank gun rounds inside a tank during an action?
Well as long as your feeder bin was large enough to last through any likely action it wouldn’t be much of an issue. You’d refill it between combats
IIRC the T-72’s autoloader is a major reason why in the tank battles of the first Gulf War, the M-1 Abrams slaughtered them in massively lopsided numbers.
The autoloader moves the main gun to line the barell up with the loading mechanism. Thus each shot requires the gunner to substantially move the gun. This increases the time between shots and plays hell with accuracy on second and third shots.
No double standard. Nope. Not at all.

UGH. Look at the headline.
Any solution will require getting rid of loving families so that the unloved children will feel equal.
Is having a loving family an unfair advantage?
HORRIBLE. Absolutely pathetic. Godawful.
Read it.
Wow. That is the most awful thing I have ever read. How can anyone write that seriously?
One way philosophers might think about solving the social justice problem would be by simply abolishing the family.
This is why philosophers pull down the big bucks.
the social justice problem
I’m going to need a citation that supports the contention that this is a problem. Or even an actual thing.
Oh, social justice is definitely a problem. Adherents to this doctrine have done more damage than radical Islam. Just ask Venezuela.
“This is why philosophers pull down the big bucks.”
nice
This truly is arguing for a reduction to the lowest common denominator. That everyone should be equally disadvantaged.
Progressivism at its finest. For those who dare share political sh1t on their Derpbook, share this with your progressive friends and troll them.
This is where Rawls veil of ignorance leads. Birth lottery garbage. You were just lucky to be born into that family? These people really do believe in the stork.

Sure, why not? Life isn’t fair. Tough shit.
It’s just envy all the way down. They’re not so concerned about the disadvantaged as they are about the advantaged. Progressives want to take away every good thing until all are equally disadvantaged. Because Equality.
Only linking this AlterNet libertarian/Ayn Rand mad-lib because of this quote:
Great Individuals Emerge from Cooperative Efforts
Privatization is closely connected to the demand for individualism over cooperation. But the belief that self-centeredness will benefit everyone is backwards. As George Lakoff summarizes: “The Public provides freedom?Individualism begins after the roads are built, after individualists have had an education, after medical research has cured their diseases?”
Without roads, there would be no individuals. You read it here first.
These people… just when I thought they couldn’t be any worse…
Combine this with my link above about loving families, and you can only conclude that progressives are absolute totalitarians.
“You have the courage to tell the masses that which no politician had told them; you are inferior and the improvements in your conditions which you simply take for granted you owe to the effort of men who are better than you.”
Mises in a letter to Rand.
His historical and anthropological ignorance is glaring. The collective could not have existed before the individual–it’s impossible. Yet he claims that individualism was made possible by collectivism. Creativity is not a group activity. Committees are known for their lack of imagination. In fact, the only way that groups create is by building on one another’s originality. But I don’t really think that Lakoff is stupid–I think he wished he were right and just lies.
It is the fault of the federal government for not giving enough money to Baltimore. 1.8 Billion was obviously not enough.
Baltimore Received $1.8 Billion from Obama’s Stimulus Law
1.8 billion is a lot of community organizers.
US Trade deficit jumps to 6-year high of $51.4 billion.
Steel yourselves for the downward revision to that already atrocious 0.2% GDP number!
I love watching them blame it on the cold weather in one icy breath and then turn around scream AGW in another sweaty belt.

My husband forgot Mother’s Day flowers, so I had sex with someone else
I think she has the cause and effect reversed.
Honestly I can’t say I blame her.
She’s unhappy and unfulfilled in the marriage but doesn’t want to just walk away from it or her family.
Cheating is not the optimal path but it can work for as long as you can keep it a secret
I think walking away from your family is bad, but cheating is worse. It’s cowardly and it’s choosing a life of perpetual dishonesty. She would be doing her family a favor by leaving.
Yep.
Well I think it makes more sense for the men in relationships because for them most of the time leaving the relationship means getting fucked over on visitation and child support and I agree it is not the BEST course but it *can* in come cases be better than divorce
But by lying to him she’s not even giving him a choice on whether to leave. She’s making the choice for him.
I think you misunderstood. I mean it makes more sense for men in her position. Unhappy marriages to wives who show no interest in meeting their needs with young children at home.
This woman, if she did leave her husband would not realistically have to worry about getting primary custody of the children and she’d be able to count on child support from him to help meet the expenses of raising those kids so just leaving makes a LOT more sense for the woman.
That said no one is being denied any choice whatsoever. He still has the choice to leave, he just does not know all of the facts but it is hard to argue that he has a right to know all the facts.
Hell I’ve never cheated on my wife but if I were forced to be completely honest with her she would have left me a dozen times over by now
It depends on the people involved. There are plenty of people who get past things like that and continue to have good relationships. Definitely not a single answer to that question.
“If there is one thing I’ve learned from the experience, it’s that mothers need to pamper themselves and have fun elsewhere if they don’t feel appreciated at home.”

Noted rent seeker puts foot in mouth:
“California gas prices jump 31 cents in 1 week on refinery woes”
[…]”This is a problem that only benefits them, to the expense of California consumers,” said Tom Steyer, the billionaire environmental activist who has pushed to raise the oil industry’s taxes in the state. “When you look at an oligopoly, is there anyone there with an incentive to solve this problem? I would say no.”
[…]California uses its own pollution-fighting fuel blends not found in other states. As a result, most of California’s gasoline is made by 14 refineries located within the state’s borders. The state also has some of the country’s highest gasoline taxes ? almost 66 cents per gallon. And starting in January, California’s cap-and-trade system for reining in greenhouse gas emissions added 10 cents to the overall cost, according to estimates.”
http://www.sfgate.com/business…..241905.php
So, to sum up, CA residents pay large for gas, because of gov’t interference and Steyer’s solution is to raise taxes.
Now, this guy made money in business, but I have a feeling it was not a result of his intelliegence.
Gloucester police are gonna refuse to treat heroin addicts as criminals. Meth addicts, not so much, I guess.
We will pay for it with money seized from drug dealers during investigations
Don’t know about their civil forfeiture laws, but that seems like incentive.
So I’m riding home on the bus last night and when we get to 41st & Fremont there are a bunch of people out in the street holding up signs that read “STOP THE KILLING”. I look around the bus and think to myself that I don’t think anyone on the bus is killing anyone.
Well I read in the paper this morning that on that block a fifteen-year-old kid was shot in the neck and died. The paper said it was ruled a homocide and the cops believe it could have been accidental. Now a fifteen-year-old kid being shot dead is a tragedy and there’s no doubt that I would have seen or walked past this kid many times. But what was the deal with holding up those signs? People get shot dead all around my neighborhood, but I’ve never seen that before.

I’m waiting for the day when they go after the Chicago Blackhawks.
You just KNOW that’s coming.
I’ll let my offer stand
Good, um, stuff.
This is why it doesn’t matter if the Redskins just change their name. The second they change it to “Warriors” these same people will come crawling back about the logo screaming “cultural appropriation.”
And the Cleveland Indians.
Though I wonder if ‘Blackhawks’ and ‘Indians’ are considered less ‘offensive’ than ‘Redskins’.
You’ll get my Blackhawk sweater when I am dead!
COMMIT TO THE INDIAN!
I really don’t think it matters to the perpetually outraged. The logos are offensive enough to them.
How could Chief Wahoo be considered less offensive than the name “Redskins”?
Well, there has been some protest with the Cleveland Indians, but the history is a bit embarrassing. The “Indian” nickname came to be because the team’s first star player was a native american. The name was specifically to honor that player, so it is hard to argue that the intent is to demean anyone, not thatthat stops SJWs.
That and the Red Wings. Coolest in hockey.
Yes, they do have much bigger problems than sports logos so this just looks like a shakedown operation.
Those that don’t comply get sued. Heck, maybe you’ll get sued even if you do comply. Colleges and pro football teams have deep pockets so why not?
It’s the same thing that Jesse Jackson did with NASCAR.
I still want to know what a ‘Nordique’ is. And the Canucks need to bring back those horrible, horrible jerseys.
So what did they have to do to earn the name Red Wings?
Don’t worry. Everyone will drag everyone else’s ratings down.
It won’t take long for the crab mentality to kick in.
So, a site which will be dedicated to facilitating libel, slander, etc. What could go wrong?
Karma’s purpose is not to punish
Funny, my very first thought was “who can I punish with this”.
The word ‘Nordique’ is like saying Northernmost. It basically symbolizes being one of the most northern hockey places. Only Calgary and Edmonton are more north.
Which Canucks? The ones of the 70s or these from the 80s?
http://bit.ly/1R9yMBI
I’m waiting for the gays to go after the Calgary Flames.
Also, as a Chiefs fan and a Blackhawks fan, I have my rebuttal prepared:
We killed millions of your people (although somewhat incidentally through disease) in order to earn the right to culturally appropriate your sacred honors. And if I have to kill the remainder in order to keep the names, I shall.
Seems quite proud. Spent at least 20 grand to get his girlfriend a dinner spot with some congresscritters so she could talk about how horrible gamergaters are while they pretended to listen.
Here’s a nice sum up:

Nice
Fucken right. BOBBY SMITH!
I still remember when the North Stars eliminated the Habs in 1981 and Smith was everywhere. As fate would have it, he came to Montreal and won a cup in 1986.
Smith was one of those phenoms who never quite made the impact that was expected but he was good.
Hawerchuck was one of my favorites of that era. And Savard and Yzerman – when they were all flash.
I remember thinking something was deeply wrong with the NHL when Dallas had a team, but MN did not (for a coupla years).
Chief Wahoo probably IS more offensive and according to my sources is being de-emphasized. A sad day – Chief Wahoo might be the best mascot in sports.
I was referring more to to generic word ‘indian’. Is it plain vanilla enough to be passed over?
Maybe the “warriors” logo can just be some German guy wearing a helmet.
“Warriors”? How about a trigger warning with that violent language next time!
They need to change their name to the Washington Puppies n Bubbles n Playdough.
Joke
Your head
And here I thought it was cause they liked banging chicks on their period
Don Cherry LOVES Ciccarelli!
Man was that guy NUTS!
That was the most insane period in NHL history. The state of Minnesota, the hotbed of USA (even North American) hockey, the great producer of talent, with no pro team. Just nuts.
I remember thinking something was deeply wrong with the NHL when Dallas had a team, but MN did not (for a coupla years).
Well, yes and no. No pro team, sure but still a lot of good (and maybe better) hockey being played elsewhere (Gophers!).
That lag between the North Stars moving to Dallas and the Wild coming on the scene made me into a Caps fan.
Again, is there a more racist team name than the Milwaukee Bucks?
Heh. Ciccarelli also like to mow the lawn in a T-shirt and nothing else.
