A 15-year-old boy in Salisbury, England, has been arrested for racial abuse after he posted a tweet about soccer player Danny Welbeck that contained racial slurs and said Welbeck should be "hung like his ancestors." The boy, who wasn't identified by media, is reportedly a fan of Manchester United who was upset Welbeck scored against the team.

That statement only applies to the 'traditional' foods born of the rationing era. Pre-rationing british cuisine has a significant overlap with the core of traditional american cuisine, both of which are much better than the current culinary reputations of those countries suggest.

Also, American has an odd habit of attributing food it invents to other cultures while claiming food that was imported as 'american'.

There's a Mexican dive in Montreal where the owners are a mother and daughter and it's outstanding.

It depends on the area. If you are in the NYC/North Jersey area, go to a local Italian restaurant. If you are in Indiana, Olive Garden is a safer bet.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. I mean, the Mexicans here, making and selling food to other Mexicans, know *nothing* of Mexican cooking.

It would be more accurate to say that the chain restaurants that cater to a majority non-Mexican clientele have modified the food to fit that clientele's tastes.

Simply put, don't expect good Mexican food in a place like New England, where 'traditional' cuisine is boiled until gray and black pepper is a spicy condiment.

I don't think the good citizens of Air Strip One see sports in the same way that we do. Over there sports appear to be some kind of substitute for actual tribal war. We just see it as an excuse to act like overgrown children with our buddies and drink.
