Jacob Sullum on the Political Wisdom of Marijuana Federalism
Several of the leading contenders for the Republican presidential nomination have said they do not personally want to legalize marijuana but nevertheless think states should be free to do so. Jacob Sullum says that position adheres to conservative principles while enabling Republicans to placate social conservatives without alienating younger, more tolerant voters.
