I get the point of the signs, but why is that guy pleasuring himself by backing up against that ledge? Is the IRS filled with objectum sexuals? Did I miss another scandal?

    1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

No, he's clearly ogling the twin prostitutes off the side of the panel. He's not even looking towards the signs.

I get the point of the guy pleasuring himself by backing up against that ledge, but why are there only two threatening signs?

      1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

Wasn't the dog on Downtown Abbey named Isis and they killed it off because PBS viewers aren't intelligent enough to recognize it being separate from the Islamic State group?

I've made $64,000 so far this year working online and I'm a full time student. I'm using an online business opportunity I heard about and I've made such great money. It's really user friendly and I'm just so happy that I found out about it. Heres what I've been doing, http://www.wixjob.com

I know to be one of the kool kids here you have to be angry at the government for everything but is it that weird to want to have health insurance?

The IRS sucks 1000x more than the silly insurance mandate does. Hell, the Medicare mandate sucks 100x more than the ACA mandate.

Whack! Part time jobs count the same as full time jobs in the BLS numbers.

Whack! Wages are stagnant despite adding those jobs proving that point.

Whack! Seniors are reentering the Workforce and youth unemployment is rising, disproving the "it's the baby boomer's retirement" that's driving down the labor force part. rate.

"I know to be one of the kool kids here you have to be angry at the government for everything but is it that weird to want to have health insurance?"

Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all. We disapprove of state education. Then the socialists say that we are opposed to any education. We object to a state religion. Then the socialists say that we want no religion at all. We object to a state-enforced equality. Then they say that we are against equality. And so on, and so on. It is as if the socialists were to accuse us of not wanting persons to eat because we do not want the state to raise grain."

      1. Palin's Buttplug   10 years ago

Despite its faults the ACA is at heart a marketplace where private insurers sell their product to private individuals. That is a fact. It is far superior to Medicare or single-payer like Canada has.

(Those faults include the mandates and subsidies).

        1. WTF   10 years ago

          FTFY

        3. Jordan   10 years ago

A market where the government sets prices and product selection. Some might call that a cartel.

          1. Palin's Buttplug   10 years ago

The government does not set prices but they do establish a minimum product requirement much like the states did in the past.

Yeah, a cafeteria style selection would have been better I admit.

            1. Jordan   10 years ago

Yeah, actually they do. Its how they are forcing healthy people to pay for the sick.

"it must necessarily follow, that some one portion of the community must pay in taxes more than it receives back in disbursements; while another receives in disbursements more than it pays in taxes? The necessary result, then, of the unequal fiscal action of the government is, to divide the community into two great classes; one consisting of those who, in reality, pay the taxes, and, of course, bear exclusively the burthen of supporting the government; and the other, of those who are the recipients of their proceeds, through disbursements, and who are, in fact, supported by the government; or, in fewer words, to divide it into tax-payers and tax-consumers"

        Not Bastiat. Know who?

"Hitler" is of course always an acceptable answer.
            *SLAP!*

            1. straffinrun   10 years ago

Here's the money shot from Calhoun.

But the effect of this is to place them in antagonistic relations, in reference to the fiscal action of the government, and the entire course of policy therewith connected. For, the greater the taxes and disbursements, the greater the gain of the one and the loss of the other?and vice versa; and consequently, the more the policy of the government is calculated to increase taxes and disbursements, the more it will be favored by the one and opposed by the other.

      4. Harold Falcon   10 years ago

That's actually not a terrible post. I mostly agree with that one. More like this, less like the other shit you post.

    3. Jordan   10 years ago

Who do you think is responsible for enforcing the insurance mandate. So now we have precedent that the government can fine you for literally anything, and you just shrug it off because you're hacktastic, Mr. One True Libertarian.

      1. Certified Public Asskicker   10 years ago

The IRS sucks, this is why we are giving them more responsibility.

        -Shreeky the Plug

      2. sasob   10 years ago

But it's not a fine - it's a tax. Chief Justice Roberts says so. In the case of the insurance mandate it is a tax on being a live human being. I could have sworn head taxes were unconstitutional.

    4. Rebel Scum   10 years ago

it that weird to want to have health insurance?

Not at all. The problem is that people are being coerced to purchase it. Not that you would understand the difference between choice and coercion.

    5. mad.casual   10 years ago

The IRS sucks 1000x more than the silly insurance mandate does. Hell, the Medicare mandate sucks 100x more than the ACA mandate.

      IRS founded: 1953
      Medicare Enacted: 1965
      ACA: Now.

So, if we consider the ACA to be 'one suck' by my calculations, suckage of these government mandates grows exponentially to about the 6th power.

Considering the immovability of the IRS and Medicare, best to oppose the suckage now before it grows.

    6. GregMax   10 years ago

Insurance was ALWAYS available. Stop spreading the lie.

    7. Chumby   10 years ago

Because of the ACA, my family now pays $4600 more per year for health insurance than we did prior. We are still waiting for that $2500/year savings President Obama told us we would realize. We were not avle to keep the plans we had before because the new law made them unavailable. The replacement plans are not as good.

The IRS is being used to enforce the ACA.

  4. Palin's Buttplug   10 years ago

Signups for ObamaCare are surging in southern states, with increases of nearly 100 percent in some states compared to last year, federal health officials said Wednesday.

Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina and Mississippi have each seen 80 percent more signups compared to last year, Deputy Administrator Andy Slavitt said.

I can already envision them descending upon some future Portlandia metropolis. In some glassy corporate high rise, xir is giving a presentation to xir's gender fluid co-workers regarding a new line of artisanal shirazz for otherkin and organic kale enemas when the desks begin to shake. They look out upon the horizon?they're coming? After a good long group cuddle cry they assemble a ten thousand strong twitter army for a candle light vigil protest / slut walk. There are no survivors.

Fuck - the shrieking is so loud I can't hear myself think. Isn't the PPACA affecting, like, 8% of the economy or something.

    3) Awful, therefore, perfect.
    4) Happy FUCKING Friday, Reasonoids. I hope you all contract horrid diseases and waste away waiting to receive healthcare as a result of bureaucratic fumbling caused by the clusterfuck that is the PPACA, eventually succumbing in a dirty doctor's office in Mexico, having fled there hoping to avail yourself of their superior healthcare options, but instead dying in squalor, shattered, afraid and alone.

The ACA might be awesome. The problem is the President isn't positive about that. Until they fully implement it and we see all the awesome (sarcasm) third and fourth order affects we won't know.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/.....story.html

So, saying the ACA is good is a touch premature. We have plenty of time to see what type of shitty law it can really be. I personally think moving deadlines was done to get past the midterms, but unless this turns out better than imagined it will be an issue this next go.

That's insane... ISIS poster? Ha-ha, you totally nailed it! I would like to add to those who complain about the government interventions, that it does not always mean that less taxes and intervention = better. Actually, just by looking at current RE trends in Vancouver and Toronto, I would appreciate intervention.
