Caroline Fourest complains on the U.K. outlet Sky News that much of the media won't show the cover of the latest Charlie Hebdo. Then she holds up a copy, and the host obligingly demonstrates Fourest's point:

    Talk about proving her point.

"I apologize to any of our viewers who might have been offended by that." Offended by the top third of a magazine cover? FFS

Really only looked like 15% to me.

    2. Fist of Etiquette   10 years ago

That was the scrotum portion of the magazine. No one wants to see the scrotum portion.

      1. Bryan C   10 years ago

        Don't worry. Just the tip.

    Jesus Fucking Christ!

Absolutely no shame. Apologizing for offending anybody. These people really have no shame whatsoever.

Spineless, shameless, gutless ... and they have the gall to think they are our betters who should run our lives.

    Disgusting.

    1. Robert   10 years ago

Obviously they do have shame, or they wouldn't apologize. It's just a matter of whom you show shame to. These people here are threatening to kill you, those people there aren't. I know what I'd do under the circumstances. The only way to get me to do the opposite would be to deliver a more credible threat to kill me if I didn't do the opposite.

      1. Governor Squid   10 years ago

And yet you know they'll be absolutely shocked and horrified when people figure this out and start backing up their own demands with violence. "Whatever could have happened to our neighbors? They were always so polite before!"

Wow. It's one thing to get 100+ word rambling explanations in the sidebar accompanying an article on this business, but it's entirely another to watch the the entire newsroom dash out of the room, sticking their fingers in their ears and yell "lalalalalalalalala", swinging cameras away and then following up with a nausea-inducing bow-and-scrape to the audience.

    1. Robert   10 years ago

It's not nausea-inducing to me because I see the satire in going way overboard, same way as SCTV did in producing "Great White North" (which they couldn't call "Canadian Corner" because National Lampoon had dibs on that).

Not a big fan of Jindal's recent call for a return to Christianity, but he does have the right stand on Islamic terrorism. Better than Rand Paul. Lot's better. I won't even mention the father's disgraceful position.

      Jindal's a collectivist.

Earlier this winter, Fourest was fined 6,000 Euros for libeling a girl by "expressing scepticism" about whether her attack was actually a hate crime.

I'm offended by your lukewarm prissiness. Where's the apology for me?

    1. Governor Squid   10 years ago

Start cutting off some heads, and then we'll talk.

      1. Brian Dixon   10 years ago

        Exactly.

Archie: Wanda, do you have any idea what it's like being English? Being so correct all the time, being so stifled by this dread of, of doing the wrong thing, of saying to someone "Are you married?" and hearing "My wife left me this morning," or saying, uh, "Do you have children?" and being told they all burned to death on Wednesday. You see, Wanda, we'll all terrified of embarrassment. That's why we're so... dead. Most of my friends are dead, you know, we have these piles of corpses to dinner.

  12. Richard Fitzwell   10 years ago

    Just..... wow. Speechless.

Didn't Shakespeare say something about a coward dying a thousand deaths and a brave man but one?

  14. dave72   10 years ago

Remember when Obama called Bibi chickenshlt? He had the right adjective, just the wrong person. SKY new joins the rest of the journalist cowards.

On the plus side, when we decide to take over the world, we'll have no trouble bringing the news media to heel.
