Teachers Unions Dropped $80M in 2014 Elections—and Have Little to Show for It
Spent big, lost big
Teachers unions spent big on the midterm elections and lost big—dropping as much as $80 million on mostly Democratic candidates.
The National Educational Association and the American Federation of Teachers spent their members' dues to support labor-friendly candidates in states like Wisconsin, Michigan and North Carolina, only to see Republicans win handily. Some critics say not only did they get little bang for their bucks, they may have further alienated members who don't share the organizations' politics.

b-b-but CITISENZ YOUKNIGHTED?!?!
Teachers Unions produce something? Oh, you mean they spent some of the lucre stolen from the taxpayer attempting to expand their mandate for theft.
In the dead tree version of the SF Chron this morning, there was a fore-lock-tugging analysis of the election in which a sub head specified "DARK MONEY" as one of the causes. And then immediately below was the comment that the Ds outspent the Rs by some significant amount!
So I guess "DARK MONEY" buys you a loss?
Funny, the Podesta bots are saying the same thing http://thinkprogress.org/clima.....elections/
So maybe everyone spent more money and it had less consequence than ever.
