Tisei Falls Short in Bid to Become First Gay Republican House Member
Iraq War veteran and political newcomer defeated Tuesday former state senator Richard Tisei in the closely contested race for the 6th Congressional District seat.
At the Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus, Tisei conceded at about 9:30. The Moulton camp was at the Salem Waterfront Hotel.
Moulton, a U.S. Marines veteran, served four tours in Iraq. Tisei, an openly gay owner of a real estate firm had 26 years of experience in the state Legislature.
