Watch (and Cringe): U.S. vs. U.K. Media on Ebola
From English comedian Russell Howard, a fun—by which I mean thoroughly depressing—comparison of Ebola news coverage in the U.S. and U.K.
Pretty sure the American dude Howard gets such a kick out of is joking every bit as much as he is, but then so too was the Brit who said "Ebola would hate it here" probably have a good point (conditions are better for Ebola to spread in some places than others). This is comedy so we won't quibble.
For more Ebola humor, check out Remy's recent Obama/Taylor Swift remix. For the rest of Reason's (generally more serious) Ebola coverage, see here.

If he hates America so much, why that t-shirt? YOU CAN'T GET MORE AMERICAN THAN SANTA CRUZ.
Proud academic home of Ezra Klein.
Go Banana Slugs!
That's some pretty funny stuff right there.
From the UK in 2008; I'll leave the link without commentary:

Best thing ever! Disgusting flying rats.
Yeah, we over react up here too.
I don't think he got the "two 40s" thing. Maybe malt beverages are sold in some other volume there (or probably not at all). Should have said "10, that's like two nickel sacks".
This is as close as they get.
Still, why would a Brit drink malt liquor when good Scotch, Gin, and Guinness are so close?
Because its cheap.
Television news (not to mention satire of it) is painful to watch no matter what country it comes from.
That was an enjoyable start to the week
But you don't have to take my word for it.
WTF? He didn't mention the teacher that was told to stay away from her school because she attended to a convention in Dallas?
Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past

"Scientists warn of a dismal future in which Bing Crosby is no longer relevant."
Is "Baby, It's Cold Outside" a date-rape anthem?
Wasn't there a time when the climate of GB supported widespread cultivation of grapes for wine?
Shh... we aren't supposed to talk about that.
Well, yeah, this is surprising? A European nation has a media elite that tells the people to stay calm and let the government do whatever it is doing? Widespread disdain and bigotry against America? That kind of bigotry and arrogance is what Europe is all about.
Media and politics in a free country are shrill and over the top sometimes. That's a good thing. Britain's calm, measured response is a sign of deep problems that country has with liberty and political culture.
