DC Metro PD to Start Accepting Concealed Firearms Permits For First Time in Decades
After a judge struck down the city's ban
D.C. Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier on Thursday said her department will begin accepting applications next week for the first public permits to carry concealed firearms in the nation's capital in more than four decades.
Lanier's announcement came as the D.C. Council's judiciary committee met to grapple with a federal judge's ruling striking down the District's long-standing concealed-carry ban. That ruling, handed down in July, will take effect next week.

If ever there was something designed to make someone beg, dance and grovel, this will probably rank right up there in the top ten.
What a humiliating experience this will be for the poor saps that think they'll get a "permit".
Since answer will be a dismissive NO, the only reason to apply is to gain standing for the next round of lawsuits.
*The* answer, dammit.
Who are you kidding? Applying for one of these will just get you onto a special watch list. (It will probably not get you a permit.)
