Lawrence also addresses the legal ramifications of the hack. "It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime," she tells Kashner. "It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That's why these Web sites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody's mind is to make a profit from it. It's so beyond me. I just can't imagine being that detached from humanity. I can't imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside."

You know what you look like naked. Your significant other knows what you look like naked (I assume). Why photograph it on your phone? Particularly a phone you carry with you and could be stolen...

It's baffling. It shows that people are really not all that savvy with their gadgets and are simply buying them for the status bump. When you don't know what your device is doing, you shouldn't trust someone else to keep your secrets (we've seen that with the NSA.)

The audiovisual side of things should be in place within the next year or two (if it isn't already). The tactile side -- I guess it depends on how much fidelity you're looking for.

I've been thinking about the prospect of haptic gloves based on coiled PVDF/polypyrrole-nylon artificial muscles, or some other EAP. If you could get a high-fidelity sense of touch in your hands, between that, the right... peripherals, and good audio-visual, you'd be about as close as anyone really needs to be.

For once, I am in agreement with the feminists. Which is odd, because I totally went out and looked for every picture of Jennifer Lawrence when this happened.

That said, if you snuck into someones house and took pictures of them naked or in a public restroom, that would be a sex crime. No one would question that.

A lot of the violated actresses have already gone nude publicly. It still doesn't change the fact that they were violated. Obviously not physically. They were not raped.
