Democrat Suggests ISIS War Tax, Draft

That'll show em.

Tough talk is cheap, and so are votes to go to war if lawmakers and most of their constituents don't suffer any consequences, said Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) in an interview with The Huffington Post last week.

Rangel called for a military draft and a war tax in order to make the majority of Americans—and the lawmakers who represent them—"feel" the consequences of the ongoing military campaign against Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.

  1. Charlie, Charlie, Charlie.

We don’t need no draft…just bottled sunshine.

    Kaboom.

  2. Rangel’s a broken record, but he needs to stay on-message:

    1) What war? Surely this is just another kinetic military action, what with the president having no legitimate Congressional authorization.

    2) If there are no boots on the ground, what purpose will a draft serve?

    1. Those F-35s don’t fly themselves.

  3. Charlie Rangel is making sense to me. I’m not sure my brain can withstand the cognitive dissonance. For the love of God, I need an intervention! Please help!

  4. This might be a bad idea, so lets force people into involuntary servitude to accomplish it. Sounds like a well thought out objection to me.

    1. What else are poor people for? Right Charlie?
If only certain people didn’t cheat on their taxes.
      Right Charlie?

      1. Don’t be silly. You know that the politicians’ kids will be the first to be sent to the front lines.

  5. Fuck that. The American people didn’t ask for this war, to hell with making us feel the consequences. How about, come election day, we instead make members of Congress feel the consequences of letting the President start yet another war, and without even having the guts to vote on it. Tarring and feathering would also be acceptable.

    1. We may like the idea of tar and feather, however, it appears we are nearly alone on that one.

  6. a military draft and a war tax in order to make the majority of Americans — and the lawmakers who represent them — “feel” the consequences of allowing Obama to become president.

  7. Rangel called for a military draft

You’d think a black American would be one of the last people to advocate slavery.

    1. Maybe he is trying to help young black men stay off unemployment and provide for their babymamas.

  8. Folks, you’re missing an opportunity here.
Obo’s new war is gonna have zero support in not long. Adding really high taxes and a draft to a war that was declared without congressional approval could finally slam the door on that lying piece of shit in the WH.

  9. Hasn’t he done this before? Or was that some other Democrat; they all sound alike to me after a while.

One of these days, we’ll be contemplating a war with some camel pesterer, and a Democrat will propose a draft, and the citizenry will be so angry at the Islamofools that HE’LL GET ONE.

    THEN where will he be?

    1. Yes, it was Rangel who called for the same thing 13 years ago under Bush.

  10. Inside of every so-called “liberal” is an authoritarian just waiting to get out. Charlie is no exception. The left in this country really, really dislikes the all volunteer military.
