Makers of Tehran 'Happy' Video Sentenced to Prison, Lashes
6 months + 91 lashes
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Six young Iranian men and women videotaped dancing to Pharrell Williams' "Happy" and the homemade video's director have been sentenced to suspended jail terms and lashes, their lawyer said Friday.
The Iranians' case attracted international attention when they were detained in May for participating in a production deemed indecent by hard-liners in Iran. The video showed the men and women, none of whom wore obligatory headscarves, dancing together in sunglasses and silly clothes on Tehran rooftops and alleyways.

I'm torn on this one.
Torn why? Is "Happy" (the music or the state of happiness) THAT bad? Torn whether people should be allowed to video-tape themselves "happy" and/or dancing? Or, torn whether USA Government Almighty is sufficiently more Righteous that the Government Almighty of Iran, that USA should bomb them to smithereens, for their own good, ya know?
I might add, I personally think that the state of happiness is sufficiently FAR more righteous than the State of Iran, that if happiness were to bomb the State of Iran to smithereens, I would happily support happy! But ONLY if happy could do that only to the STATE of Iran, and not the people of Iran! ? But then again, I would support "happy" against the State of the USA, in ditto circumstances?
I think thats a little crazy just to come and say bomb them without any actual reasoning behind it.
While it's tempting to side with liberal, individualist values vs. a violent and autocratic state, that song is terrible.
