Biden on ISIL: 'We Will Follow Them to the Gates of Hell'
Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday that the United States will follow militant group ISIS "to the gates of Hell."
"The American people are so much stronger, so much more resolved than any enemy can fully understand," Biden said in the wake of the killing of a second American journalist by the extremist group. "As a nation we are united and when people harm Americans we don't retreat, we don't forget."

"And if we have to, we will beat them there!"
Can we get VP Biden to lead the fight? From the front?
This.
"Where by 'we', I mean 'people who are definitely not me'."
CNN reported this quote today under their "Breaking News!" ticker.
Admittedly, their definition of what constitutes Breaking News has been in "Dog Bites Man" territory for years, but still. The only way anything coming out of the VP's mouth can be called breaking news is if he is being sworn in on an airplane on the way back from Dallas.
To the gates of hell? Well, geez - I had thought that was kinda what IS was building there in the desert.
So we're clear. The Vice-President of the United States (and the pride of Delaware) believes the USA is going to hell?
Indeed, with Genius Joe at the head of the vanguard!
No, I think he's telling the US to go to hell.
Can't we kill them now, before we get to Hell?
I still cannot believe this man is Vice President. If David Duke or the jogging-suited version of Al Sharpton had been elected Vice President it wouldn't be any more amazing or embarrassing for Americans, not that 70% of them can name their vice president.
This man isn't just the VP - he believes he has a shot at the presidency. He doesn't.
His recent comments are not inline with Obama's talking points, and they aren't just the typical gaffes he usually makes. He is angling for attention and clumsily trying to distance himself from Obama.
It's both an indictment of Biden and the lack of faith in the Obama administration that his own VP with presidential aspirations is openly going against his talking points.
We can only hope he pulls a Nader and runs on the Green Party line.
He is deluded if he thinks the Clintons will permit him to run for any purpose other than serving as a prop so Hillary can claim a "victory" for the nomination.
Can we leave Biden at the gates of hell once he's there?
He can go to hell without our help. I'm sure he knows the way.
But if, and only if, an international coalition also agrees to accompany us to said Gates.
Biden on ISIL: 'We Will Follow Them to the Gates of Hell'
Well, let's hope so.
On the other hand after hearing Obama's comment:
"We know that if we are joined by the international community, we can continue to shrink ISIL's sphere of influence, its effectiveness, its financing, its military capabilities to the point where it is a manageable problem," Obama said.
Biden's statement might actually be a more effective statement. At least some ISIL thugs might be somewhat intimidated by Biden's statement. Whereas, Obama's statement will just be the subject of utter ridicule.
I fail to see what a 'manageable problem' means in the case of a terrorist organization. It only takes one lone nut at the end of the day to carry out an attack. I really don't think ISIS would struggle to carry out an attack that much regardless of how much territory they controlled.
It's a volatile region, anyway. If ISIS keeps even a fraction of the territory its gained, I don't know how the hell Obama or anyone else can say they can manage that region with a straight face.
OK, Joe. Go to hell!
He can follow them to hell, I'll stay here.
Ironic that he uses that phrase. Eleven years ago we were warned that invading Iraq would "open the Gates of Hell" and indeed we unleashed demons that make us nostalgic for Saddam Hussein.
I had to laugh last night when I heard Lt. Col. Ralph Peters tell Megan Kelly, "The gates of hell? We won't even follow them into Syria."
