Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is expected to meet with Army investigators on Wednesday in the opening round of questioning about his disappearance five years ago. Bergdahl eventually ended up as a Taliban prisoner.

ABC News, CNN and the BBC are reporting that Bergdahl, who hails from Idaho, has been preparing for the meeting with his lawyer Eugene Fidell, who said the format will be people sitting around a conference table rather than an interrogation.

The Army's investigation team is being led by Major Gen. Kenneth Dahl.

Bergdahl was released by the Taliban in May as part of a controversial prisoner swap with inmates from Guantanamo Bay.
