Immigration Activist Released by Border Patrol
Jose Antonio Vargas detained while attempting to board flight in Texas
Undocumented immigrant and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas has been released by McAllen, Texas Border Patrol after being detained for several hours.
"As an unaccompanied child migrant myself, I came to McAllen, Texas, to shed a light on children who parts of America and many in the news media are actively turning their backs on," Vargas said in a statement. "But what I saw was the generosity of the American people, documented and undocumented, in the Rio Grande Valley. I've been released by Border Patrol. I want to thank everyone who stands by me and the undocumented immigrants of south Texas and across the country. Our daily lives are filled with fear in simple acts such as getting on an airplane to go home to our family. With Congress failing to act on immigration reform, and President Obama weighing his options on executive action, the critical question remains: how do we define American?"
Border Patrol allegedly arrested the activist in Texas on Tuesday during his attempt to pass through security at McAllen-Miller International Airport, United We Dream said in a statement. Vargas is associated with the nonpartisan network, which advocates for the fair treatment of immigrant youths and their families.

This guy has known he is illegal for 3 years. You'd think he would have gotten his immigration status fixed by now.
Regardless of if you are for open borders, you should also be for rule of law. But that concept seems to have taken a very serious beating.
Haha... "undocumented". Reason has gone progressive.
It's a direct quotation from the MSNBC piece, fyi.
The Border Patrol: You will trust and respect this bunch at your peril. That they wear a US flag patch on their shoulder is laughable.
Just ask Terry Bressi. For a few years now, he's been documenting the insidious actions of these people. Review his work here:

If you work for the US Border Patrol, get the Hell out of my country.
