I say we boycott reason until the move back to their old server. WHO’S WITH ME?
We’re here! We’re queer! We don’t want any more bears!
All of us.
Can’t – I’ve been boycotting your boycotts
Hey, hit ’em in the wallet!
My 2014 donation is now $290.00 less than the 2013 and it just keeps on falling.
I’m into negative numbers now. I don’t know how they’re ever get out of that hole.
SJWs in the wild: I told Penn Jillette to shut the fuck up
This is their new favorite tactic. Act like an asshole right out of the gate and then act confused and self righteous when they’re either called on it or responded to in kind.
You’re making me feel unsafe Coeus. Take a deep breathe and calm down. You can’t possibly understand what it’s like to live surrounded by the institutional violence that permeates our world. Don’t add to it.
The self-serving ideological contortions of SJWs is a sight to behold. Race is a scientifically bogus concept, but racial preferences must be written into law. Race determines how people think and behave, but if statistics show that people of different races aren’t distributed evenly anywhere, it’s proof of racism. We must fight hatred and intolerance by hating haters and being intolerant of the intolerant. And on and on….
I have defined myself as a victim, and dammit, that means I and only I get to be outraged, whenever I wish! Any cis white male is by definition an asshole and is not permitted a point of view, period.
Test – “Squirrels, Fucking Squirrels”
Over
^This.
Uh, no. It’s that if you want to be able to talk to people who don’t already agree with you about everything, you can’t start right off being an asshole and expect to be listened to. If you start off by telling me that my views don’t count because I am a white male, I’m not going to respectfully consider whatever it is that you want to say and I may well be an asshole back to you. THe most effective activists from “justifiably angry” groups are the ones who spoke calmly and civilly to their opponents. Martin Luther King isn’t a hero because he was an asshole to everyone who opposed him.
The SJW crowd is in no way interested in dialogue with anyone even vaguely resistant to any of their core tenants. If you, like I do, take issue with their pronouncements of collective guilt and collective victimhood, or with their idea of “microaggressions” which are simultaneously aggressive expressions of bigotry and unwitting admissions of same, or with their notion of class constructs predicated on ethnicity or gender rather than wealth, or with their numinous accusations of “privilege” as a genuine article of personal endowment, or with their habit of shouting over, shutting down, or otherwise dissuading critics, or their absolute refusal to engage with the facts of a scenario (the Zimmerman case comes to mind)? well, you’re simply not welcome to your opinion. And you’ll be told as much. It’s really not worth treating these people with anything but dismissive contempt.
They aren’t changing my mind with those sorts of tactics.
*tenets
You know, for having copy-pasted it at least half a dozen times before it took, you’d think I’d have noticed that.
Shouting down the opposition isn’t a new thing, but it’s also a tactic you don’t see the good guys use much. Bad guys, on the other hand, use it all the time. Nazis, communists, religious fanatics–they like to yell at you.
I don’t blame them for being upset, or even for getting shouty about it. I’m often inclined to shout impotently about the various, manifold ills perpetrated by and in the name of the State. Nothing gets me shoutier than the WoD, for example. But I don’t pretend that I’m entitled to shout my grievances in the faces of those who perpetuate it, much less those who merely don’t oppose it. I don’t pretend that I’m justified in waxing incoherent, and I certainly don’t imagine that shouting inarticulately will sway my opposition.
Of course, I’m giving them way too much credit. As you say, it’s more about yelling than compelling.
These types have a hardon for Penn lately. Guess why.
I know every chick in the world has super fucked-up body issues. But is telling them that it’s OK to be a disgusting blob of fat really helping anyone? It’s like telling drunks that there’s no reason to drink less or smokers that smoking is just as good as not smoking. All are true from a moral point of view, sure, but come on. Being a fat, drunk smoker is miserable.
Bonus WTF: a dude wrote this.
The gist of the piece seems to be that being fat is a moral neutral, which is true.
Now, I weigh 138, wear a size 2 or 26 in jeans.
Can…can a dude weigh that little and be normal? Maybe he should squat more. Jesus, I weighed more than that when I was 13.
I’d have to be soaking wet to weight 138, and I am the very epitome of normal.
Yeah! Stop the thin shaming!
Uh…you sure about that? I mean, I’m not one to talk, but…
(gives Scientist an atomic wedgie)
Hey, stop othering me while I’m othering everyone who isn’t me.
Can we post again?
You are less than 0.54 Warties. Eat up, skinny.
I’m petitioning the Conf?rence g?n?rale des poids et mesures to rename the gram the wartyhugeman. So, you know, kilowartyhugemans, centiwartyhugemans, the whole nine meters.
I think that there is something in between cruelly shaming fat people and telling them that it is perfectly OK to be fat that fat Jezebellians seem to ignore. Telling people that being morbidly obese is unhealthy does not necessarily imply that you must be rail thin to be healthy.
Being naturally skinny isn’t necessarily all that great either. I’m naturally almost freakishly thin. I’m reasonably healthy, but if I had some illness that made me lose a significant amount of weight, I’d be in a bad situation.
^This.
It should be about health.
Obesity is a sign of a metabolic disorder which brings on diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc. So, being obese can be a very serious health risk. But some thin people have metabolic disorders too, it’s just not as obvious. Some overweight people are perfectly healthy.
Encouraging good health should be the priority.
Regarding the dopey Pope, aren’t there lots of things that the Church considers evil that they don’t argue should be criminalized? Gluttony is an evil too, but I don’t hear the Pope calling for restaurants that serve large portions to be thrown in prison (though some people do come close on that front, I guess).
He also seems to ignore the fact that the evils of addiction are all made much worse by prohibition. And the fact that far more people are addicted to alcohol than all illegal drugs combined. But his organization still serves wine.
Some 400 drones have fallen from the sky and crashed into buildings and homes since 2001, according to a year-long investigation by The Washington Post.
They’re sending Tom Cruise out to repair them.

Question: Has anyone ever seen the Pope and John Walters together?
Rahm Emmanuel has always been an awful human being.

Lois Lerner’s Hard Drive “Crashed” Ten Days After House Ways & Means Chairman David Camp Made His First Inquiry About Targeting Conservatives
…As to Ms. Lerner’s behavior, consider that House Ways & Means Chairman Dave Camp first sent a letter asking if the IRS was engaged in targeting in June, 2011. Ms. Lerner denied it. She engineered a plant in an audience at a tax conference in May 2013 to drop the bombshell news about targeting (maybe hoping nobody would notice?). She has subsequently asserted a Fifth Amendment right to silence in front of the only people actually investigating the affair, Congress. Now we learn that her hard drive supposedly defied modernity and suffered total annihilation about 10 days after the Camp letter arrived….
I don’t know why people are convinced that there’s incriminating information in emails that the IRS is going to such great lengths to hide.
You know what is funny to me?
Crashed hard drives are recoverable.
Pope Francis is a commie stooge. It’s no surprise that every one of his recommendations involves expanding the state.
It’s a motherfucking baby great white shark
Truly adorbs.
Ya gotta be kidding me, this is what finally went through!?
So now we know the squirrels like sharks. How do we make use of this information?
That IS adorbs. So much so, I think it deserves a song:

Didn’t click; is that about lawyers?
Last time I checked pope Francis led an organization whose main sacrament involved alcohol.
So he should have a wine and a smile and shut the fuck up.
Some 400 drones have fallen from the sky and crashed into buildings and homes
Were any people and women hurt?
Are you kidding me!?!?
Women were hurt most.
What if US troops run into the Iranian military while in Iraq?
OMG like hai! Maybe they can hug like Elliot Rogers dad and the people he shots dad (in totally a sorta gay way but hey! gay is cool~!) and then together through their love they can totally BAN GUNS and Obama will make the peace like a Nobel prize winner should! IN YOUR FACE BUSH!!
Well, Miss Manners suggests that it is in awkward situations that our commitment to civility must be strongest. So remember to be polite and cordial and to ask their pardon as you call in a massive drone strike. Miss Manners eschews napalm–too stinky.

I’m so glad H&R managed to shout out the ‘hawt convict’ because what REAL LIBERTARIAN could possibly have continued their day without being like, “OMG! hes dreamy!?” you know? also, when is REASON going to get bought by Gawker?? because, like, its just the same now.
Emma Czornobaj guilty in 2 highway deaths after stopping for ducks
“The trial heard that Czornobaj, who had three years of driving experience at the time, had stopped to rescue ducklings on the side of the road.
The professed animal lover told the court that she did not see the ducklings’ mother anywhere and planned to capture them and take them home.”
BUT INTENTIONS~!
FEELS!?
also, the guy on the motorcycle was totally probably going too fast and endangering a child and got what he deserved.
*(if progressives ruled the world, this would be the logical conclusion)
Did she slam on her brakes to get the ducks or something?
Even that shouldnt matter. Anyone following should leave a safe cushion to avoid running into idiots who slam on their brakes.

Yeah, I’m having a hard time working up sympathy for the fools who couldn’t stop to avoid a stationary car.
George Will is kicking ass and taking names.
Yes, that second paragraph was my first reaction–when you play games like this, there’s a real risk that the real, heinous crime gets lost in the haze of nonsense.
Sovereign citizens are kicking proggie ass in the comments at Raw Story.
This shit is great. They are getting completely dominated.
It’s cute because all the proggie arguments boil down to “government grants you rights, and you have no rights if you are not a citizen of the State”

Some 400 drones have fallen from the sky
401, counting mine.
Suck it, Fist.
You win this round, but let’s see what happens the next time this gets reposted.
I’m saying 404.
HA!
Sevo wins the internet…and then broke it.
Clearly, the truth has come out. Fist was simply a drone. Fist 2.0 will be the beginning of the end.

Let’s be honest here.
Paul Ryan is from Wisconsin, not Ohio.
Let it go, he’s on a roll
Whoops! Guess they’ll have to scrap the entire post and start over. It should reappear again sometime in mid-August.
That prediction is more than a little generous, I think.
The actual footage
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Ohio) said, “Once upon a time you dressed so fine…”
Are the squirrels done yet?
IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified before a House committee that the loss of emails belonging to embattled tax collector Lois Lerner was purely accidental, owing to a computer crash. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Ohio) said, “I don’t believe it.”
I heard part of this testimony and Koskinen pulled the “Well I never defense” by declaring that, in all his years of public service, he had never before been called a liar.
Clearly he doesn’t interact with non-bureaucrats enough.
Too bad he didn’t say “I have no recollection of having been called a liar.”
His Holiness is probably totally opposed to that as well. He just won’t be announcing his fallibility.
If they didn’t pay their taxes and participate in the grand redistribution, then he’s fine with it.
