    Seems a bit graphic.

      +1 wooden ruler.

  4. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

On the plus side, Robespierre was eventually fed to his own gillotine (I know he wasn't actually standing there pulling the lever, but it was very much his).

  5. Snark Plissken   11 years ago

    Best FF ever?

    Nice job Boky.

    1. BakedPenguin   11 years ago

There's been a distinct improvement recently.

    2. Ted S.   11 years ago

      That's a low hurdle.

  6. Steve G   11 years ago

Speaking of which, would someone please tell me if this is satire or not 'cause if true, I's a little scared.

    1. invisible furry hand   11 years ago

Slate's been trolling us for years. It's a sign of the end times when it starts trolling itself

  7. Will4Freedom   11 years ago

Graphic indeed. He could have accomplished almost the same thing with Obama giving out "Debate Is Over" earplugs to all the Progressives walking around with their fingers in their ears going "la-la-la-la".

But I guess the point he's trying to make is that the left is not satisfied to ignore debate... they want to PUNISH everyone who has a different point of view.

I'll accept the cartoon and give it a reluctant thumbs up.

  8. WTF   11 years ago

I link to this article for this line only:

Davis, the founder of artisanal granola company Early Bird Foods & Co,

That ought to get sloopy's blood boiling when he sees it.

    1. invisible furry hand   11 years ago

"Early Bird Granola is baked in tiny batches using the three most integral ingredients at a cook's disposal: olive oil, kosher salt and love."

I'm with sloopy on this one

      Artisanal Pencil Sharpening

REACQUAINT YOURSELF WITH THE PLEASURES OF A HAND-SHARPENED PENCIL. In New York's Hudson River Valley, craftsman David Rees still practices the age-old art of manual pencil sharpening. His artisanal service is perfect for artists, writers, and standardized test takers. Shipped with their shavings and a "certificate of sharpening," these extra-sharp pencils make wonderful gifts.

      1. WTF   11 years ago

        That's hilarious.

      2. Rich   11 years ago

He'd probably actually sell some if he lowered his prices by a factor of ten.

      3. Lord Humungus   11 years ago

        April Fools?

      4. MJGreen   11 years ago

I believe he's a comedian. I recall Paul F Tompkins saying that he was performing with Rees in an "artisanal pencil sharpening" show, so I assume it's all a gag.

  9. The Late P Brooks   11 years ago

    I came, I saw, I went away.

  10. Anomalous   11 years ago

It looks like the luchador on the platform just won his match.

  11. Gweskoyen   11 years ago

Am I the only one annoyed by the sloppy wording in the balloon? "Are you a gay marriage or climate change denier?" Has anybody ever used the phrase "gay marriage denier"? I mean, it's not the question if gay marriage exists, only if it should exist. If the guy had said "Are you against gay marriage or a climate change denier?" it would have made more sense, and there is enough room in the balloon. Oh, and why is there a wizard on the guillotine? Guillotines weren't invented yet in medieval times.

  12. Almanian!   11 years ago

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Awful. Well, no - not awful. Pretty damned....so-so. Thefore, unfit for Friday Funnies consumption.

A pox on you, Bok, for tempting us with something nearly worthy of consideration.

And a Good Friday to all Reasonoids. Fuck California.

  13. Gindjurra   11 years ago

Anyone who claims that the science on something is settled and done with doesn't have the first clue what science is.

Making such a statement is a pretty good proof that the science you're talking about is wrong -- truth doesn't need to be shielded from debate, if it's true it can stand on its own.

  14. Todd Gilbert   11 years ago

I guess the debate is still on for gravity and the earth being round also.

  15. Mark22   11 years ago

Well, for gay marriage "the debate is over" because the great majority of Americans clearly have thought about it and concluded that they don't care. It's a dead horse and increasingly a losing political issue even for social conservatives. Time to move on.
