Inmates Are Signing Up to ACA — Obamacare Roundup
For health benefits once they're released
The latest news on Obamacare: Prisoners are taking advantage of the Obamacare Medicaid expansion.
Previous news on Obamacare:
A national union has slammed Obamacare as a program that will lead to lower wages and more income inequality.
The Obama administration has, as expected, allowed insurance companies to continue to offer plans that are not compliant with Obamacare. The companies can now wait until 2016 before canceling the non-compliant plans.
The White House is expected to announce another Obamacare-related delay, this time allowing insurance companies to continue offering non-Obamacare compliant insurance plans. Without the delay, there would be a new round of plan cancellations.
Health insurers stand to lose $5.5 billion in 2015 from participating in the Affordable Care Act programs. President Barack Obama proposed in his budget plan released March 4 covering the losses with federal funds.
The House is set to vote on ending Obamacare' individual mandate penalty for 2014 this week.
The vote will only be one piece of Obamacare-related news to come out in the coming days. Three health industry conferences are being held this week, and President Obama is expected to release his fiscal year 2015 budget proposal.

..."President Barack Obama proposed in his budget plan released March 4 covering the losses with federal funds."
Yeah, spending an additional $5.5Bn won;t increase the debt, right?
It'll be saved on the now affordable medical care.
That's right:
1) Take money from right pocket
2) Put in left pocket
3) Multiplier.
4) Instant wealth!
Gee, who would thought?
Billary recommends waiting until 2017 to cancel the non-compliant plans.
We can now retire the argument that the cancellations were a GOOD thing because stupid Americans didn't know their insurance was bad.
If your plan was cancelled early and you purchased an ACA plan, then the joke is on you. The insurance companies might raise your premium when people who get to keep their bare bones coverage don't contribute to the pool that pays the 11 essential benefits.
Honestly, you got screwed ROYALLY if you actually tried to meet earlier deadlines. You had to endure the glitchy websites and dopey navigators. What happens if further modifications allow insurance companies to offer something cheaper in the future? Then you emptied your pockets needlessly while those who procrastinated were rewarded.
Sure; same as the mortgage 'crisis'. Stay current, work like hell to pay on time and bail out those could not afford, or didn't want what they bought. Then, get passed up on all the 'mortgage relief' because you aren't one step from bankruptcy.
Damn. Again. Sure wish I'd gotten kissed first this time. At least a dinner!!
Is there no room for responsible people at this table?
WE'RE ALL INMATES.....!
Si se puede!
Prisoners are taking advantae
You presumably left the "g" out of "advantage," Feeney.
It would also be nice if the original story and the updates were dated.
