Colorado Voters Could See Ballot Measure Restricting Euthanasia of Animals in November

Would prohibit shelters from killing animals except if they are suffering

A push to have Colorado enact strict bans on euthanasia of shelter dogs and cats could be put to a vote this November.

In what's billed as the Colorado No-Kill Pet Animal Act, proponents aim to reduce homeless pet populations "through humane efforts rather than killing," according to a draft proposal of the initiative submitted this week.
